A VR should have a 50mm splitter. Later Corrado's have 50mm splitters. The 50mm splitter is still available. £45 plus VAT.

Whats the worst thing youve done to ur corrado
Critical_Mass replied to CorradoDriver's topic in General Car Chat
As my car (like many) is low, the jack i have wont fit right under to jack it up. So i put it under the part of the wing where it meets the sill. Done this many times using a bit of card as a cushion between the 2. Today i got it slightly wrong and the part of the wing is was resting on collapsed and push upwards. Making the sill part of the wing bulge out a bit, and has cracked the paint, but on a part you cant really see. But i can see it rusting. Im fcking furious with myself!!!! Im just glad i can fit another wing, but rather it didnt happen all. ANyone got a bordeaux coloured late drivers wing? -
Coilpack would be a misfire and would show on vagcom if its misfiring at the point you scan - obv scan with the car running. MAF would also show on vagcom
-
Does it idle ok? Can you get it hooked up to vagcom?
-
Yup. The rest is just about activation.

Labrador puppies - how to start, any tips ??
Critical_Mass replied to emu's topic in General Car Chat
imo i wouldnt get a cage, but thats cos i dont like them locked up in a cage, though a room would be better. Sorry not heard anything specific to lab diet. just had a look and theres a little info on here http://www.officiallabradorguide.com/lab/labrador-diet-and-nutrition SOrry didnt realise lab diets differed dont think my uncle did anything different to any other dog, but maybe im wrong. -
Im guessing thats meant to say 500bhp

As swifty says really, though the reason to wet it is more when it dries it shrinks a bit. But dont make it TOO tight as the manifold will expand when hot and could crack if the wrap is too tight. But wetting it will stop fibres from coming off. As for how much, i bought 2 x 50ft by 2 in wide stuff and one was more then enough (i bought more just in case), that included cut offs and also included a 50% over lap. Look on youtube before attempting if you'#re not sure on how to do it. But its pretty straight forward. Simply warp a branch at a time with a 50% over lap each time you go round the tube. Tie as often as you like. I didnt bother buying the metal cable ties as they are really expensive for what you get. I just bought a roll of copper wire, which was £30 on its own BUT there was LOADS of it, more hten enough using plenty of it to hold the wrap on. Another bit of advice is to decide before you fit as to whether you will wrap or not. I wrapped mine whilst on the car and i would NOT recommend it, its possible but a right ball ache. I would recommend to wrap it over not wrapping it, as swift says it lets alot of heat out, and the VR gets hot anyway. Plus it protects the steering column which is jsut to the left of the downpipe and anything else close by. I used the "cool it" product in black - http://www.ruderacing.co.uk/Exhaust_Heat_Wrap/c710/p140000/Thermo-Tec_Exhaust_Heat_Wrap_(White)/product_info.html and you will also need silicone spray - http://www.ruderacing.co.uk/Exhaust_Heat_Wrap/c710/p140150/Hi-Heat_Exhaust_Wrap_Coating/product_info.html The silicone spray protects the wrap from water and oil etc. The wrap can go manky if it gets wet, use pletny of silicone spray to repell water etc. Saying abotu the metal cable ties, they arent THAT expensive on that site. THey used to be more then that.

eh, thought they always covered modified cars???

Labrador puppies - how to start, any tips ??
Critical_Mass replied to emu's topic in General Car Chat
You can treat a labrador puppy like any other young dog in regards to how often you feed them and training. Once in the morning and once in the eve/late aft. THough obviously smaller portions and meat in the eve and biscuits or what ever in the morning. As for training, buy some treats and it will be a case of telling the dog a command, showing it what you want it to do (like push its bum down for sit) and giving it a treat. Make sure you're precise and desicive with commands, repetition should eventually pay off. One thing that annoys me about some dog owners is they wont tell their dog off when it does bad. I feel this is important part of training the dog, they need to know when they've done wrong, a slight rap on the nose when and a "NO!" or "bad dog!" is important in the dog knowing when its done something wrong. HOwever on the other end of the scale, praise is also important. Sorry if ive told you anything you already know. One thing about labs though (my uncle has one), friendly dog, but they never stop eating - more so then other dogs!!! Oh and they can get quite big. -
ermm well yeah good point, maybe its 2 seperate issues. Does it misfire at all as id say fuel was the issue with the flat spot rather then spark, someone could tell me otherwise though yeah i never thought about the damper pot either Hasan until Kev pointed it out. Checked mine yesterday and im not sure mine is how it should be. It does slam shut, but doesnt appear to gradually close after that.

x 3 for that ^^^ Ive always found the ebay leads to be really hit and miss, even when not just scanning the ABS. Getting it to correctly detect the car and/or cable is a task in itself. One day it can be working, the next it doesnt.
-
Thats a brilliant thing to say!!!
-
Would that only happen on junctions though or all the time. Especially when more fuel is needed on throttle? Id personally rule out coil pack and leads as id expecta misfire not a total cut out. Unless it happens that ALL leads or ALL connections on the coil pack are knackered at the same time - what are the chances of that. Ive got this issue too, but only happens occasionally. Kev aka Fishwick, suggested the throttle body was the issue. Advised to check the damper pot, which is what the throttle sits on when idling. Think there's a throttle sensor too.
-
Let us know how you get on.
-
yeah possibly, but not 100% had a similar issue myself, coming up to a roundabout and the car starts to misfire but it did pick up and be fine for the rest of the day, same happened again the other day. This morning the car wouldnt start at all. Turned out that the a couple of the HT leads were arching onto the pack. So check this to.

Though going by what Lewis said and the replay, he went onto the kerb a bit which made him understeer. Im still not 100% convinced about the changes, the tyres sure they can stay, but KERS and DRS im not so sure. Especially the DRS. In Montreal, i dont think a driver should have been allowed to use the DRS on the start/finish straight when they've already passed the car which activated the DRS in the first place. But i suppose its going to take at least 1 season to get it right.

Yeah excellent race, just when you think Vettel was going to take another win, bam and it all changed. Just wish we didnt have to wait so long for the racing to get underway. Shame Shumacher didnt get on the podium. I thought he drove brilliantly, but just didnt have the pace. Loved the marshall moment

If the engine wasnt running when you did the scan, then the engine speed sensor will show on vagcom.
-
Ok i'll check that out. Cheers guys

Cheers :D

Yeah doesnt seemed to be any play. There is SOME but there's always a slight bit of play even on new bearings. Maybe worth taking the brakes off, ive wondering if its the rust on the outside endge of the disc rubbing onthe pad as you say. Can you sand this off without damaging the discs?

Hi all, Got an intermittent noise coming from the passenger rear wheel, sounds like something is rubbing. Its a sort of faint/muffled squeaky ISH metallic noise and it does sound like a intermittent rotating noise. Ive swapping the front wheels for the rears and its made no difference. I cant see anything rubbing. Im told the noise its making wouldnt be the bearing. Anything else it could be, its a very faint noise which is hard to hear unless the road is smooth, also sounds worse going round fast right corners when all the weight is on that side of the car. Ive spun the wheel with it up in the air and there's no noise. I have got slightly longer wheel bolts due to the alloys, but the wheel bolts have been in ages and the noise is reletively new. Though the front tyres where really noise due to them being cheap and worn, so i dont know if this was masking the noise. Any suggestions appreciated.
