Adjustable coilovers - the way forward. Have it as low as you want then (upto -120 at least) Have you considered buying a standard VR and tidying it up. Leather can be found, and also you'll get to put your stamp on it. Or buy a dog, and get it sprayed what colour you like! Buy one for 1k - 1.5k, same money again for a respray, same money again for a bespoke re-trim by someone like MJ interiors, or half that for some 2nd hand on the bay (or here) FK Konigsport coilovers 600 and i imagine your close to your budget. Just an idea to confuse you some more. :D

Dont panic but... My car did this. After searching and starting posts i discovered it was (probably) 1 of 2 things. Dodgy sender, or a foobarred engine. Mine was the latter. :( It started in January, and i got it pressure tested, to find it didnt have much, if any at all! I 'put-up' with at, because at the time i couldnt afford to replace the engine, or have the bottom end rebuilt. On saturday, after getting progressively worse my headgasket went, which im certain is a direct result of not sorting the problem in the first place. Replacing the oil pump (GSF) or having the bottom end rebuilt were other 'solutions' that were suggested. too late now.... I am now in the process of finding & replacing the engine. :(

Does anybody know who might transport an engine from one end of the country to the other for me? Any well-known courier services at a reasonable price?

You Know Your Rado's Really Feked When.........
Nick replied to double-6s's topic in General Car Chat
When your car becomes engulfed in blue smoke... :( -
http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43375 Storing isnt an option. This is a head over heart matter, i know i will regret it, but i have very little choice. Its just at the wrong time in my life. I dont expect it to be my last corrado though.

It is with great sadness and regret that i type this, but my car is going. :( Either in pieces or as a whole, but its going. After buying the car about a year ago, i have spent more money than i have on it. Its been the one thing to make me smile in the most difficult year of my life. After suspension, exhaust, services, general repairs, partial-respray and running costs (due to being a daily driver) and the clutch last week, and the engine yesterday, it has wiped me out, and depleted my savings to practically nothing. :( Due to it being my pride and joy, i havent cared. Until now. I cannot warrant the cost of a new engine, or even a second hand one. So am cutting my loses, and selling it either as a whole, or if i dont get any interest, breaking for parts which would be such a shame, seeing as everything else is in excellent condition It makes sense in the long run after considering all my options, as i wouldnt recover financially for many years, and Im getting to the point now, where I want other things in life. I hope to stay in the vw fold, and one day return the ways of corrado ownership, but for now, its goodbye old friend...:tearywave almost in tears now Its a 91 (J) G60 in Tornado Red. The paintwork is fantastic, apart from a couple of small spots where its begin to fade, but after seeing Jedi-knights recent pics, i know this is restorable with a proper wax. It recently (picked car up 13th may!) had a quick blowover on the passenger side door, and wing, and round the bumper to get rid of a couple of scratches and stonechips. Was also debadged on the rear at the same time. New FK Highsport coilovers, pro fitted - receipt to prove. about 8 months old Powerflow exhaust system. New - receipt to prove Very good condition BBS RA's (i think - standard G60 ones anyway) 2 tires replaced approx 2000 miles ago, front two need replacing. VR6 Clutch put in 2 weeks ago! again receipt to prove. Interior is excellent, slight wear on gearknob and steering wheel. Working spoiler/sunroof/windows Rear discs & pads & bearings replaced at the end of April for MOT. 10 months MOT. Taxed until sept. There really is nothing wrong with it, it just needs an engine!! Do i try and sell it as is, or break? It would break my heart to do that!!

wow...it looks like its had a respray!! That is nothing short of amazing as far as im concerned. You have some talent...
-
The engine comes with ECU, clocks, inlet & exhaust manifolds, keys, pipework and loom all on the subframe. Doesnt come with driveshafts, can you explain what id need? Would i need to source S3 driveshafts? Or a custom jobbie?
-
Amazing how a few mods can make such a difference. Love it.

I had a quick search, but couldnt find a definative answer. Will an Audi S3 1.8 5V engine fit and work in my G60. I already have a VR6 clutch, but the engine comes with a 6 speed gearbox. Would i need this, or will it work by bolting to my 5 speed box? I dont imagine it will, but you i wont know unless i ask. Cheers in advance. Nick

http://www.the-corrado.net - try here, always a few good qulaity examples... How many do you want to look at?
-
Or perhaps not. Just trying to get some information on fitting of a FMIC. I know this is going to seem like a stupid question, but sod it. I want to know!  Thanks Shilakadaddy for pic - if its not ok, let me know and ill remove it! In order for an i/c to work, the pipes/connections are circled, correct? Whats the hole for (presumably unfinished and not left like that!) on the longest pipe? Are there any connections i cant see? It seems quite straight forward?! Too straight forward, and would like to know if im missing something or quite alot something! Thanks in advance peeps. Nick
