I need some help with a few engine issues. Can you identify and/or tell me where they go from the pictures below. If you help, you get a prize which is the satisfaction of helping a young, struggling, corrado owner...or maybe a freddo bar if i see you at a show! :D This screw, is T-shaped, and is flat at top. Where does it go? I know where this lead starts, but where should it go? I think its to the charger, but which hole, as there's two. Im prob wrong. Does the rubber hose im holding attach to the back of the inlet indicated? Finally... Driveshafts...ive got the drivers side on fine, but not the pass side. The bearings fell out, i put them back in, but now it wont swivel/rotate/move as freely as the other side did. The outer bit doesnt line up with the bearings, and i needed to twist it a bit to get it in. I havent moved it, but now it wont line up. Also, do i need to push them all the way in? Nick

The interior looks like a morphed combination of the new civic, and focus st to me. I certainly wouldnt have one in green.

I reckon thats a repost.

Is it a proper course, or run by a guy who simply details? Sounds good all the same.

There are 8 studs that attach the exhaust manifold to the block. It appears that 3 of 8 studs wont 'grip' or 'screw' once in the block, so im assuming that it has been cross threaded, but personally ive never come across this due to lack of diy practice. lol. I bought some new studs, but it appears that its actually inside the block bit has de-threaded. Any suggestions, as im buggered? I do have a welder friend coming to help tomorrow, and suggestions so far is to either weld the stud in place ( - seems like a bad idea?!) or try and re-thread the block, but then id need different, larger studs, and would need to enlarge the manifold hole too. Sorry if ive jibbered on a bit. Im crap at descriptions. Nick

Hopefully get to fire my engine up over the long weekend, but to check for things like leaks, and to just get everything freely moving inside, i was planning on filling my fluids with (hopefully) cheaper alternatives, and then drain it all and re-fill with proper stuff. Is this a good idea? What do you reccommed? Nick

I was just told that it'll do more bad than good and sucking in alot of crap into the engine. But they wouldnt make em if they were that bad. is your VR6 soundtrack not enough for you...?!

I think you will be very popular offering discounted ins as i know a few of us younger members are paying stupid money!! Welcome aboard btw. How many miles has your C done? and get some pics up!

Piperccross induction kits arent brilliant. Infact the phrase i remember was "it will do more harm than good!" I had one on my G60. Sorry if its too late, but thought you might like to know that.

Not cheap ones! lol. Or else you'll end buying twice, and being wee, weed off when the round off and you cant do anything!!

I had never even drained the oil in a car before, im currently half way through my engine conversion/replacement.... :x Its fun. and congratulations.

I think i know.

So its either twin engined, or the extreme weight saving concept.

Cheers for the replies, and esp the table. Its printed out so ive no excuses for if it falls apart!

Really...? Why am i under the impression that these things need to be tightened to certain pressures? Your wheels have never fallen off have they? Or your clutch popped off...?!
-
Got to tighten the flywheel to the block tonight, but im 99% certain it needs to be tightened to certian 'tightness' or pressure. Assuming this is done with a 'torque wrench' but i was wondering if anybody can tell me how tight its got to be, or where i might find such information. I will have to do the same for the driveshafts too, but was thinking as it was undone using a spline set, surely ill need a spline socket torque ratchet? Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Nick

1. Yes. Very. I had an encounter with a sturdy hedge after having mine for a few weeks. All that needed replacing was the wing. In any other car, im positive it would have done loads more damage. 2. I have one, but not yet installed as im lazy. They are bad, but plenty of people dont have them and get on fine. 3. Group buy still available for the Aero ones? Awesome mod. means you can also see in the rain. 4. Im using standard 5. I dont know, but i bet they look the bollox! Nick
