    Vag Com question

The cable is an ebay one but seems to work fine. I can read both the Engine and ABS ECU's. I ran a scan with the ignition on/engine off and got the 00513 and with the engine on (no 00513). Measuring blocks show all the relevant data, engine rpm, temps, voltage etc. I just couldn't understand why the scan ended with "No Faults Found or DTCs not supported by controller or a communication error ocurred"" as if it may have not been communicating, when it didn't do the same on the Golf. I guess it is all working ok, just wondered if anyone else had the "01 Engine" section end with the same message?

    Vag Com question

Bump. Is there anyone with vag com out there who can veryify this?
  5. Ran a Vag Com full scan today for the first time on the C and the "Address 01: Engine" was highlighted in red and ended with: "No Faults Found or DTCs not supported by controller or a communication error ocurred" Is this the normal response for a C if there are no faults found? Vag Com was definately communicating with the ECU as I could read all of the relevant measuring blocks etc? I only ask this question because when I ran it on my MK3 it ended with: "No fault code found. Readiness: N/A" So is this the norm?
  6. Have you looked under the gear lever sorround?
  7. Lowered green Storm coming off the M25 at jct 13 this morning N80 *** guy driving and girl in passenger seat.
  8. I reckon that TCS guy is buying them all up, he's got one up for £5375 and another 3 at £3975 all 4 of them in Mystic Blue
  9. I wonder how much lower prices can go. There are some very cheap cars coming up on Piston Heads. A one lady owner Mystic Storm with 126k was up for £2995. There are also a number of cars for under a £1000. Undoubtdly the recession has driven down prices and there is still a sufficient suppy of cars to satisfy demand. Once that situation changes prices should start increasing. Anybody on here buy the Storm?
  10. Saw a blue C this morning around 9:50 am near to Hampton Court Palace. Think it was an L reg.

    FROZEN MY G60

Uness your garage is heated I doubt whether it would have made any difference being inside or out in the current low temperatures without antifreeze. Until it all thaws out your probably not going to know whether any damage has been caused unless it is immediately visible such as cracks. I remember an old Cortina I had years ago had no antifreeze in and it froze but fortunately it just popped out one of the plugs in the block that they put in after casting and it was easily fixed. Just check the water levels in the expansion tank once it thaws and you have it up to operating temperature. If it drops then you are obviously losing coolant (water in this case) somewhere. Keep your fingers crossed
  12. It would definately be a good idea to fit the inline fuse as suggested. I must get around to doing it myself at some point
  13. Unfortunately this is a common problem on Corrados. The post from RW1 in this thread will give you all the info and how to prevent it in the future. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31462
  14. Apparently the original (part no. N 014 140 5, fillister hd. M6x15 bolt) was dropped on the 01/09/08 and the replacement listed is N 100 292 06 (oval hexagon socket head bolt).
  15. The heated ones are pricey, just replaced one on the Golf and it was £45  I suspect the Corrado ones are even dearer.
  16. Top picture is the resupply pipe "b 536 614 736" Second Picture is the pressure regulator "034 133 534 F"
  17. Model and year might assist in identifying the correct part no's
  18. Yep that's correct, just looked on ETKA and both 2E and ADY are both 2L 8v engines
  19. The 2E and ADY part refers to the engine code. Check on your service booklet or your V5.
  20. I don't know about the moth balling it for 30 years, but my plan has always been to keep mine standard, look after it and keep it as long as I can. I'd still like to be driving it in 30 years so lets hope I don't have any trouble renewing my licence at 70
  21. I've had a GSF sensor on the NSF for over a year now and it's never given me any problems. I don't suppose it will have the lifespan of an OEM sensor but at about £12 a time it's not the end of the world anyway. As dr_mat said, if you can't get a new one from VW it's the only option other than a second hand one.
  22. Judging by the amount of lock on the front wheels it wouldn't have needed to be going that fast to get it to cock it's rear. If you used that much lock at 55+ mph (spoiler raise speed on late VR's) I suspect it would get a bit scary and do more than just cock it's rear wheel
  23. Not quite to the journalistic quality of the recent Performance Car magazine article I posted, but came across this small mention in FHM at the bottom of the page :D img003.jpg[/attachment:vwez0kbf] Looks like a green Storm. Belong to anyone on here?
  24. When your mates read the part where they compare it to an RS Cosworth they will probably realise just how good it really is. :D
  25. No not mine Rob, it's hard to tell from the scan but that one is an M reg, mine was on an N before the plate change. I wonder if anyone on here owns it? What's the chances the one in the pic has long since been butchered, ragged and reshaped by interfacing with something beside the road at speed? :([/quote:11g0whdr] Well I just checked on the DVLA and the car was first registered on the 18/10/94 and has a current road fund licence so someone is still driving it.
