  1. Oh go on get some photos up :D
  2. You can still get the car through the MOT as long as the passenger door opens from inside & outside when unlocked (lifting the pin). The central locking is not part of the test.
  3. I know the front suspension was from the MKII Golf but I think the rear was from the Passat, although I don't know if this included the shocks. I'm sure someone will confirm.
  4. If the door isn't opening from both the inside and outside then it sounds like a linkage has come loose from the locking mechanism. IMO this was probably caused by them putting slim jims or something similar down between the door and the glass to attempt to unlock the car. This would also explain your poorly fitting window trim rubber. I would put it to them and see if they will agree to sort it out free of charge. I would expect the car to come back in the same condition it was in when they got it. Good luck with it.
  5. Mine is S 3267 and was registered in Jan 96
  6. I've only seen these with the In Pro headlights so I couldn't tell you what they look like without. Hopefully someone else will have seen the fog/indicators fitted without the headlights and give you an opinion. Personally if I was just changing the fog/indicators I would stick to the originals. Put a wanted on the forum and someone will probably dust a set off that they can sell you. It's the foglights that are expensive (£70 a side) the indicators are under £20 IIRC from the stealers.
  7. From the symptoms you describe it sounds as though it could well be one of your wheel sensors that has failed. Save yourself some time and measure the resistance of the sensors. If you have one reading higher than the other three it's probable shot. Expect an average value to be around 1100 to 1200 ohms, if it's reading much more than this and higher than the rest or if it is open circuit then that is the first place to start. The GSF ones are only around £18 for the front but not sure on the rears, think they may be the £40 mark. Hope this helps.
  8. I've seen these and they look pretty good and give the car a more modern look. The only thing is if you are going to chage just the fog/indicators then they probably wont look quite right with the old style headlights. The ones I saw were matched with the In Pro headlights.
  9. I should be going to this so if you are leaving from London you could always follow me up there.

    ABS issue

You could always check the resistance of the wheel sensors using a multi meter. I changed my NSF one today and it's cleared the fault I had. The resistance doesn't need to have increased too much from the average value of around 1100 ohms to cause a fault as my NSF sensor was reading 1400 ohms which was putting the ABS warning light on. If you had generated a lot of heat through the brakes while on track it may have heated up the sensor enough to cause a permanent increase in its resistance. Might be worth checking first if you don't have immediate access to VAGCOM. The GSF sensor is only £18 so quite a cheap fix if that's your problem.
  11. The car pulling to one side under heavy breaking would suggest a ceased front caliper. Check the caliper on the opposite side to the direction in which the car is pulling. With just one good caliper you would also notice bad braking in general.

    New Radiator

Which dealer was that? My mate works at VW and quoted me £153 at that was with 18% discount. I just ordered one today from Heathrow VAG and it cost me £160 + VAT. Tried to get them to discount it but they weren't going to budge on the price. Spent an hour and a half this evening removing the old radiator ready for the arrival of the new one. didn't use the bumper/slam panel removal method but just unbolted the fans from the radiator first, removed them and then removed the rad. You have to remove the battery first, the N/S headlight/grille and apply some gentle upwards pressure on the top of the slam panel but it will come out with a bit careful manoevring. I've decided to change the thermostat and housing whilst I've got the coolant drained, no doubt it's gonna give up at some time seeing as it's nearly 12 years old!
  13. I had a run with a 20V Turbo that I was along side on the Marylebone Road (saw the 20VT badge on his B pillar). Once we got onto the A40 he sat right up behind me and as soon as the car in front of me pulled over I floored it. I suspect the guy was a little surprised because I gradually pulled away from him at a steady rate and pulled into the near side lane to see if he had the power to get past but he didn't. There was no doubt he was trying though! I think maybe an average 20VT is not as quick as a good VR. :D As for a car that was quicker.....had a 911 pull away from me very convincingly
  14. Have you seen the ones here? http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/index. ... _Body.html It still works out around the £40 mark plus the shipping but they sure look nice 8)
  15. So have you worked out what this lot is going to cost you Rob and has the girlfriend left you yet?
  16. Love Aqua Blue, your car is looking really nice!
  17. Check fuse 16, seen this happen a couple of times, it's usually blown.
  18. Imho if you already own a C then there isn't much to complain about in traders or private buyers asking above the book price as this will hopefully start to push the average price up and in turn make "your car" more valuable. If the C is a modern classic as it is already being suggested then shouldn't we expect the car's value to be on the increase. Obviously if you don't already own a C then it's a completely different story and now may be the time to buy. It's also worrying to see C's all too often being written off for relatively minor accident damage because their book value doen't warrant economic repair. Personally I welcom these high priced C coming up for sale and I hope the general price of a C starts increasing as a consequence. Long live the Corrado!! :)
  19. The C looks really clean. Have fun with it and welcome to the forum.
  20. Looks very nice and only 60k on the clock. Welcome to the forum.
