"yea lol i undersatand that, but how do you make a 2900cc into a 3100cc, and how does it work" VeeDub_Rado, The displacement of an engine (CC, cubic capacity, litres etc.), is. the amount of volume/area of all the cylinders. This is determined by the stroke (the distance the piston moves from the bottom to the top of the cylinder, multiplied by the bore (the the area within the circumfrence of the cylinder occupied by the piston). If you increase the bore (this is done by special machinery which bores out the cylinder to a larger circumfrence) then the overall capacity of the cyliners is increased. Hope that makes sense. :)

RW1, where do we find the storm to wolfsburg clip? -
I have no real comment to make on the bhp and Lb/ft figures, you could go on all day about this ones got more bhp than this one and this one get to 60 quicker than this one, although I must say the guy fro K-tek is seriously deluded about the c 0-60 times!!! The c vr is more than quick enough to 60 has a decent top speed but above all it has real character and attracts attention because of it's relative rareity and good looks. I don't even think its worth making the comparison becuase the c and the newer cars being discussed are a generation apart. Having said that it's interesting the comparison is being made in the first place and that goes some way to demonstrate how good the c at 10+ years old really is. I wouldn't swap mine that's for sure!

From the pictures the grille looks black, the original grille would have been colour coded. It was probably changed for some reason and this would explain the black badge.

Thanks for the info guys.

Believe me, this video will be well worth the effort if we can get hold of it. Tiff has a great old time in the G60 with lots of big smiles on his face as I remember it. -
Thanks for the info Furki

Thanks Luke, look forward to your review. I must get around to updating my loom.

I can remember watching it first time around (showing my age now). Tiff was really putting the car through its paces on the track (lots of inside rear wheel off the ground stuff) and was extremely complimentary about the car. Would love to see it again. -
Does anyone know if there is a link to the video of Tiff Needell test driving a G60 on top gear? must have been in the early 90s :!:

Is it legal to mix directional and non-directional tyres?
mr.ots replied to aclwalker's topic in Drivetrain
RW1, you raise a very good point on the insurance aspect in the event of an accident. You can bet your life they would try and wriggle out of honouring a claim if you had a directional tyre running in the wrong direction. four good quality like tyres are always the best option. -

Stevemac Yeah I can imagine it's not a good idea to run just one tyre in the opposite direction, but it is interesting to see how little the lap times increased running all four tyres the wrong way. I would have thought the car would have been all over the place. -

Surprisingly, running directional tyres in the wrong direction doesn't cause as much of a problem as you might expect even in the wet. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/hydroplaning.jsp -
Even the stig couldn't keep the turbo at full chat around the track. I don't think I could live with it as a daily driver but boy it could be a lot of fun at the weekends. The Zonda is awesome!!!

The c definately has a way of drawing attention. I was waiting at a set of lights yesterday and a workmen on the other side noticed the car, i saw him say something to the other three blokes he was with and then they all turned around to look. I think it's the mix of the c's good looks and relative rareity. As for the Evo and Impreza, you have to admire the awesome power they squeeze out of those 2L engines, but they don't have the character of the c.

Only VW would be able to provide the vin numbers of all the storms produced but I doubt they would be willing to release that information to any one individual. Maybe CCGB could approach them. Thanks for the update on the Classic Green Storm at Wolfsburg RW1.
-
Depends how you look at it Phat, the 500 storms were in the last production run of 1300 cars imported into the uk. Although no. 500 (mystic blue i think) went to the Karmen meuseum in Germany. I wonder how many are left now.
-
Very nice mystic blue. Welcome to the forum.
-
It would have been much easier if the storm vin numbers were sequential but unfortunately they were not. There were standard corrados in between.

I know there are a few companies doing this 10 month accelerator so maybe they will accept each others even if the 12 month merchants wont. Would need to be checked.

Paying just over £600 fully comp with Admiral. VR6 Storm (extra insurance group I think) 0 NCD (using my full NCD on my van) living in east london (high risk area). Maybe it's just be because I'm an old git! :) Also found sticking an older female on the policy brought it down around £70 Try including your mum on the policy.
