Nice c fiona, welcome to the forum
-
There's a classic green one on exchange and mart at the moment up for £6795 but no mileage listed. The prices vary a lot just as with any other vr but you see them going for anything between 6 - 9k depending on condition and mileage. Update - Storm-nut has just listed his classic green on the forum's cars for sale for 6k.
-
The fact that it was only sold in the uk makes it even more limited IMO. g60greeny - I think you would get a different view from different people (especially judging by this thread) on whether to leave a storm standard but I would say it would be more desirable to a collector if the car was in standard form.
-
Well said 16v, Storm ownership is as much a feeling of having something that gives you that "twinkle in your heart", I couldn't have put it better. It was the car chosen to commerate the end of the the rado and VW thought it special enough to save no. 500 to keep as a museum exhibit.
-
I think the main debate here is whether the storm is worth the extra money over a similar spec vr and the simple answer is....... ......It's worth the extra for anyone willing to pay it. You pays your money and takes your choice. If storm ownership gives someone pleasure then it was money well spent and good for them.

Whatever your personal opinion of the storm may be, the fact remains that there were only 500 produced in that guise and this is always going to make the car more desirable to a particular group of enthusiasts. I don't think there are any rights or wrongs to owning a storm as opposed to a standard VR or vice versa, it's all down to personal taste. For me personally I like that fact that there were only 250 c's (storms) produced in mystic blue, only 500 with the BBS solitudes and of course the storm badges. With regard to the higher selling prices of storms over a standard VR, yes you generally have to pay more for a storm but on the flip side you will almost definitely get more for it than a standard vr when you come to sell it so I don't see the extra cost as a disadvantage. However, in the longer term we may well see the gap between the cost of the storm and VR increasing further as the car becomes rarer and more sought after. For anyone who already owns a storm and is intending to keep hold of it for some time to come this can only be a good thing. Ultimately I'm a rado and not just a storm enthusiast. If I had a choice between a low mileage mint condition VR and a high mileage poor condition storm I'd choose the VR every time. I was lucky though and managed to find a good condition low mileage fvwsh storm and I was happy to pay an extra premium for it.

Hi Grim, yes mate that was me, thought it best not to flash or wave in case you thought who is that nutter in the Hiace! :) Had a nice 100 mile trip up from London this morning to do a job in Tachbrook Park, wish I had been drinving the c. -
Think I'll pick one up then next time im at the stealers.
-
Good to know if I ever decide to fit one. :)

How many coats of paint did you put on the car? It is certainly a lot darker. It also looks like it needs rubbing down with 1500 wet and dry and compounding to get some shine on it, the finish looks very dull in the pic.
-
I see that part number listed for the goof but not the rado, is it the same rubber?
-
I didn't think the accelerator pedal had a rubber as standard, my car doesn't have a rubber just the metal pedal. There doesn't appear to be a rubber listed for the accelerator pedal on etka, only for the brake and clutch. Maybe the ebay ones are an aftermarket mod.

Blackberry C on the Euston road heading towards Kings Cross this morning around 07.35 -
I've heard that elephant and admiral are in fact the same company but one may give you a lower quote than the other so give admiral a try.

crikey, look how small it looks!!! pure pocket rocket! The perspective makes it look even smaller than it is because it was taken from my van (sitting quite high up). I had to cane the c**p out of it to catch up with the c to take the photo! Wouldn't have had that problem in my c. -
Admiral were the best for me, Fully comp without any no claims bonus (use my full no claims on another vehicle) and in Hackney East London (a bad area for cheap car insurance) all for £600. I added a named female driver to the policy which brought it down £70!

Spotted a green c on the M4 between jct 5 - 4 at around 2.10 pm today. -
Mine goes up at exactly 60mph which I think is a good speed, don't want it going up and down all the time, especially considering how unreliable they can be. The less work it does the better. The Japenese mod looks cool, if I understand it correctly (my japenese isn't too hot) then you can adjust the raise speed from the rotary control mounted on the dash. :)

Looking on etka it appears that the grille part of the bumper is not listed separately.
