  1. Welcome to the forum Roger. the car looks really nice and I agree that standard is the way to go. enjoy the car. Paul
  2. I'm getting this problem too. I have noticed that it doesn't happen when I view the forum on Taptalk, only on my pc or android browser.

    Which car mats?

I'm looking at buying a new set. Does the drivers mat have a heel pad and do you have a part no?
  4. I've owned my Corrado for 8 years now and as I've been completing a few jobs in anticipation of at least some summer this year, I thought it was time I posted a members gallery thread. I'm sure there will be more work to come. I bought some Solitudes off ebay earlier in the year for £200 but they came recently refurbished and as it would have cost me around £50 per wheel to get my originals done, this seemed like a good option giving me a spare set of wheels for the same money. 20130622_125906.jpg20130622_125938.jpg My original tyres were low on tread and the ones on the new wheels were even lower so I had 4 new Hankook Ventus V12 Evos fitted for just under £75 a corner. I don't know how they handle yet but they seem to have had a lot of good reviews so I'm hopeful they will be good. 20130622_124911.jpg Spent some time yesterday cleaning the interior and giving the leather a good clean which has come up pretty nice. 20130622_160714.jpg20130622_160741.jpg20130622_165041.jpg MOT done in April and had an advisory for corrosion to rear brake pipes so I've replaced them in Kunifer (doesn't corrode like steel and doens't work harden like copper). I decided I may as well replace all the pipes from the ABS pump to all four corners (only advised on rears). If I have to do any future work on the master cylinder I will replace the final two lines from the cylinder to the ABS pump but to be honest they look in good condtion. 20130531_163310.jpg Just waiting for the sun to come out now so I can cover a few miles. 20130622_165203.jpg
  5. I liked the quote he made from the Ford Probe review when he was comparing the test cars to coffee: "The Corrado is like an espresso, one shot and it blows your head off". :-)
  6. The sunroof will most probably be a tired motor. You can usually get used replacements on ebay, the mk3 golf ones are the same but check which type you have as there were 2 different ones.
  7. The spoiler problem is probably due to a faulty thermal overload in the motor which interrupts power to the unit. There is a thread regarding this with more info. the sunroof will most likely be a tired motor.
  8. During the C's MOT in April I was given an advisory for corroded rear brake pipes so I thought I would fabricate some new ones in Kunifer. After numerous failed attempts at producing a decent 4.75mm DIN flare with a flaring bar I bought one of these: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=271187213440 Its a superb tool and produces perfect flares every time. you can see it in action here: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ncMRlomyqTs I guess a lot of C's are in need of replacement brake pipes now so for those who want to have a go at making your own this is the perfect tool for the flaring job. It would also be useful for small repairs as it can be used on the car as opposed to the vice mounted type where you would need to remove the complete pipe.
  9. Thanks for the reply Beastie. The new rear hoses are the same fitment as the originals which didn't use washers so I'm confident they are not needed, I just couldn't figure out why they were included with the hoses.
  10. The only place they looked like the might have fitted is where the hose screws into the rear caliper but the gap between the hose nut and caliper body is to great to secure the washer. I don't think they would fit anywhere else. Has anyone else fitted these hoses to a standard Corrado VR brake setup?
  11. Well I guess they will come in handy if I ever upgrade to mk4 calipers. Cheers Steve.
  12. I'm just in the process of replacing all of the brake hard lines due to an advisory on the recent MOT and thought I would upgrade the flexies to Goodridge SS hoses. I've got the correct set for the standard Corrado rear calipers and have two copper washers that came with the hoses but it's not clear where these are for. Anyone know?
  13. The Trimsport Storm badges are very good quality. I bought 2 of them some years ago when they were first produced to keep as spares.
  14. Yep, it will be air. Changed my fluid recently and it took a few days to settle down.
  15. Get them from the dealers. Bought some a few years ago and they're not expensive.
  16. Just spotted an M reg Mystic Blue Storm at Boxer Motor Works in Ashford. Anyone on here?
  17. You're not the only ones who have had problems. The thread below over on Pistonheads reports similar issues. http://www.track-days.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=140&t=1222704&nmt=
  18. I own a storm and I live in London :) As scarlet VR6 said most storms were registered as VR6s including mine.

    Strike pins

Thanks for the offer ChrisL but I've just ordered a couple of the eBay ones. At £1.99 each. I can always replace them again if they don't wear too well, who knows, it might trip to the dealers.

    Strike pins

So does anyone know if the oem ones are still available? The eBay ones bmwcompact listed don't look chromed

    Strike pins

Thanks for the info guys and your offer Ron. The eBay ones look pretty OEM so I think I'll give them a try.
  22. Does anyone know if the door lock strike pins are still available from the stealers and the cost if possible, as the nylon collars on mine are about to come off.
  23. I opened my garage door today for the first time in ages and what did I find..... Yes you've guessed it, a Storm :-)
  24. If they are the original calipers then the hand break mechanism may well be sticking on. If the discs were glowing hot then the heat transfer could have damaged the abs sensor. If the abs light comes on once the car is moving it's usually a sign of a faulty wheel sensor.
