Hi mate. Yes it does sound like a bust cog. Infact mine bust as I tried to set it to blow on the window. Well annoying. It was also left blowing my feet. In fact my recent 5 month total rebuild started with this very job as a weekend 'I'll fix that'!! The job just got bigger  I reckon you could just replace the cog if you can get it from VW. However its prob still a box out job  You can do it without removing the dash. I just went to extremes to do other things I found. Bad previuos owner and duff workmanship. As an idea remove the pass side kick panel and get underneath. You can see the cogs and the control cables. This will give you an idea of what you are looking for.

Hi. I bet its the heater box cogs. mine broke and I heard it go. See here

The reverse gear has no syncro. So it will always give a bit unless car is at standstill. Could be a worn clutch that is not disengaging. Mine did this a VR6 kit soughted it out. I had my box stripped and rebuilt VR 1st n 2nd gears and new bearings on the mainshafts. Reverse was fine. Just no syncro so not as smooth as cars with em.

There's alot of usefull stuff in the Knowledge Base mate, and you can always ask (as you found out :D) http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page plus saabs are gonna break down alot more than VWs, so you need all the pics you can get :-P (j/k mate :))[/quote:eab83] I have wrote 4 how to's or the knowledge base. they are waiting to go on at the mo. Unfortunately there is something wrong with the site at the mo so no upload yet. As for info. Yes I did ask and got fine answers. However photo's speak a thousand words. Oh it was not a bitchy point just a comment. Saabs are damn fine machines and are a wolf in sheeps clothing. a 4 door with 190bhp as standard is a massive base for modding. Mine had full front mount IC converted to a Mitsubishi TD04 turbo. Big actuator chipped lowered the lot. Pity a bus eat it really  Read here for my how to remove a saab 900 se gearbox All good fun though. I love the C though its the car I always wanted so now I have one and it rocks. :D Leon as for the car I gues I should do a list of the work. Rebuilt head & skimmed head plus new headset rebuilt gearbox VR 1st n 2nd gears plus all new bearings on mainshafts New throttle body plate rebuilt charger 68mm pulley & BB RSR outlet kit Stage 5.5 chip for ECU New vag water pump new vag oil pump Various new water hoses New suspension all round and mounts lowered 40mm on a Weitec kit New wheel bearings front n rear (That was fun) Well fronts were fine on my mates 10 ton press! Heater box n matrix replaced. Infact that was the initial job for a weekend it spread throughout the car 5 months later it came to an end. Can't remember what else at the mo. Loads of stuff really. I'll think of more kids are about now haha no time. -
When fitting the 65mm pulley did ya fit a shorter charger belt? A shorter one is def needed. The spring loaded arm can't take up the belt slack resulting is slipppaaagggggeeeeeee.

Hi mate. go to Halfrauds. 1m x 3.5mm bore is £3 plus you get two diesel injector caps for blocking the other vac nipple. That is if you have no carbon canister like me. The pack is sealed. Typical Halfrauds style. It sez 1m X 3.4. When you look on the hose braiding it has printed 3.5mm. Not that .1 of a mmm is going to change things. Before I rebuilt my vac system and throttle body my ECU line was 3m long  See here all soughts of conections!!

Hi mate. Hows yr car? Well after its 5 month rebuild my car is now running. I had alot of help from here. Well all apart from my window cables that have snapped this week As some girls take an interest in me and the car. My mate buts in who drives a knackered 167000 mile Diesel Vectra 'his windows don't work though' !!! So just away of saying thanx to all on the forum really. I think that a lack of photo's is the forum's only weakness. On my previous Saab forum we loaded it with how too's n photo's. In the end nobody used their Haynes manual. 1st hand knowledge was much quicker and more acurate. -
I thought it was 3.5mm x 1m in length :?: I replaced mine not long back. Used Diesel run off pipe at 3.5mm internal bore. Hay Dubcharged if one has a gas anylizer what readings is one looking for. Last week I retuned the CO pot to 450 as per yr recomendations after fittimg me new 5.5 chip.

What does 35/0 do for the car. I got a 40/40 kit. I would agree the ride is great. Very precise.
-
Glad ya got it soughted bud. I crossed my 250 mile charger run in point today and let her go.... Holy Bat computer. Its a missile hahahahahahahahahahahahhaha No way I could not belive how she just tore up the A50 at Stoke Oh my God. the boost needle just held at the stop and the speed just kept coming on. Hahahahaha. Top rebuild Darren. On the bad side my rad fan will just not kick in. I got a new loom for that area yesterday and still it won't spin. 3 temp sensors and still no joy!! Gutted. Got stuck in traffic on a blocked M6 on the way home. Temp way to high. Just had to turn off at any junction and find my way on moving A Rds? Gutted really. Think I'm gonna go to an Auto Electrician get it soughted once n for all.

Oh Matron.... Phnaaar :) I agree -
I always blow torch the caliper before removing bleed nipples. It breaks the grip the threads have. After that its a complete bleed of the system and new fluid all round.
-
I have the Weitec kit from Gwerks. Shoxs n springs. The ride is great. Much better than Koni's with Eibachs and way better than Spax. Good at handling rough rds and wicked in the corners. Not to hard nor soft.
-
Hi fellow 60 owner :D welcome. You got any photo's of the pipe? Best bet is custom bent. 1 pipe will not break the bank.
-
How is yr PAS pump. Does it knock at all? Was the flush easy enuff?
-
well being as the guy at Awesome found the leak he checked the car against a database they had?? I was telling him about red caps n black caps  Sounds like a hackers convention haha. He did agree some red caps do say ATF on em. Mine does not. So it came up on the database that it should have green mineral based fluid sought of stuff the Citroens use. He did say that as far as he knows VW have always used mineral fluid across the range. You could try calling Awesome?

its behind the drivers side rear 1/4 card m8 :) those mechanisms can be a fecker to get out  quite a few rivets to drill out which is ok,but its just getting the thing out the door! sort of needs bringing out sideways after removing the glass from the regulater. neil. Cheers Riley. So it could be the actual window mech  Great. Still these cars are getting on in years. As an edit I just removed the rear quarter panel to see what lies beneath! Wow thats big looks like a componenet frpm a 50's mainframe  Do any other VW's carry the same component. Say mk2 Golf's? If so might where they be located? Same place?
-
Might the G60 be the same?
