I'd stick new plugs in too while it's apart! Oh you've got a VSR haven't you, rather than a VGI? Can the plugs be done with the VSR in place? Not so with the schrick.

Dude you started it! As far as I'm concerned, it's mine til the rest of the cash is with me. I'm not being difficult or owt. Just careful. I got burned for the cost of a 24v engine a while back :( So it'll be at the phirm but mine until the money is sorted. Cool? Service history? Oil changed by Stealth in accordance with their running in rules. Plugs and oil changed again by Golfmeister VW specialist in Hove. So plugs and oil twice in 10k miles. In fact that's 3 lots of oil! It's all good. None of that is written down anywhere though mate - although i guess stealth would have a record of what they did, and Andy at Golfmeister would be happy to fill you in as well :)

Don't worry about the engine dude - it was new, built up by stealth, and has done 10k miles. It's a peach :) At worst the outside needs a wash down and stick some clean oil in and you're away :)

I've never had any problems with settings after changing a battery mate. Just run it as normal and it'll be fine. As for the alarm, I wouldn't know as my alarm was ripped out by the last owner!

How's the 'lift it up and stick it in the boot' plan coming along mate?!! ;) A block is heavy enough, let alone a whole engine!!!
