Excellent job mate. Good skills indeed :) Does look a wee bit odd though imo - an audi wheel in a rado?
-
I can't actually see a car in that pic? It's just a pic of an empty street on a grey dull rainy day isn't it? ;) Free or not - it should be shot.

Help needed (paid!) to get a vr engine out - Sussex :)

Nice one mate. I think I only have ten days to get it out! :( -
Hi Anyone in/near sussex who could come and give me a hand getting an engine out in the next week? I'd obviously pay the lucky person/people. It's about 20% out already - front end off, frount mount off (it's propped up), few bits removed, etc. Anyone got the skills/time to help out? Cheers Will

Have you got a saxo then? ;)

Fitting a 6 Branch manifold, with the engine in....
double-6s replied to -Neil-'s topic in Engine Bay
Definately possible. Don't ask me how, but it's possible alright. -
Is the hub nut done up tight mate? My DS wheel or drive shaft was loose and making a knocking noise, and had play in a side to side manner like you describe. Turned out the hub nut was not on even vaguely properly (I won't name the garage) - once done up all the lateral play was gone. Worth a check.

Absolutely ridiculous and completely hideous imo. $150,000 for the wheels too!! What a t*t :)
-
I get a print or two as payment for the photshoot mate :) Owning two cars is a proper ball-ache mate - let alone two rados! Just be thankful they're not both VRs :)
-
Cheers dude. Yeah it's the only one for me. Even topgear mag is a bit shite now. I even managed to get a mention of the Rado VR6 in the Alfa article! :)
-
Thanks mate :) The noise is about to get better! I'm going to order a cat-back stainless exhaust with one less silencer and slightly bigger pipes :) Might even go for a CDA as well, but not sure on that. How's you bud? :)
-
Respect not deserved mate! My car is in evo, but by pure luck really. They needed a GTA for a buyer's guide article they were doing, and I managed to fluke being the one picked for the photoshoot :) I even got a pic of my boat race and a small piece I wrote in there as well!! :)
-
:) Buy a copy of this month's Evo magazine and you can see for yourself mate! :)
-
Cheeky begger :) I love it to bits mate. I'm amazed at the traction it has. Amazing what can be done really :)
-
Thanks chaps :)
-
thanks mate. so the premium would be loaded come renewal time?
-
Stupid question I know, but is all accidental damage covered by a fully comp insurance policy? Eg, if I drove into a skip, entirely my fault for example, would I be covered? I haven't by the way :)
-
That looks quality mate :) I really like that.
-
Go and take a pic and write to the council asking for compensation. My mate went down a large pothole in his volvo S60R and it trashed one of the fancy adjustable shockers - 2 grand to replace!!!
-
Just do it and see what you think mate. If it sucks bring it up a bit :) My car, lowered 70+mm, definately suffered from the odd bout of bump steer as discussed above. But I'm wierd, and I quite liked it! At the end of the day you are the only person who knows what you like. I reckon the majority of the folk on here would have hated my rado for being too hardcore for the road, but I absolutely loved it. Suck it and see dude :)
-
Totally depends on your suspension choice and what you're after. My vr is lowered 70+mm and i never really had any problems with that - apart from the odd splitter issue :) My suspension is rock hard so the lack of travel means rubbing etc is minimised. I imagine my wishbones are at a ridiculous angle, but the car handles excellently and is incredibly stable.

Mate just go down the coffeeshop, come home and roll a huge joint :) It won't help sort it out, but you won't care for a while :)
-
G-werks probably do them mate? Somewhere around 200 quid i think unfortunately :(
-
I haven't got one, but I think the general consensus among keen vr drivers on here is a neuspeed on the back kills a nice amount of understear. 25mm does the job I think - 28mm for the brave among us :) A lot of folk also fit a front, but many say just the rear on a vr is the best/does the job nicely.

double-6s replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
I reckon the Z4 driver owns a carpet warehouse in Barnsley :) What a tw*t.
