  1. Thanks a lot for making a proper guide on how to do this jedi-knight83. I'm waiting for the Gliptone kit to come in and will be doing this right away! I have one question though, all my leather is in my house now which sees about 24*C. Is that warm enough for this stuff to work properly? Cheers

Ah, can't find a place that sells it, you don't happen to have a link handy do you? :) The audioscape website doesn;t have them anywhere.

Very nice C you have there, just the way I want my audio set up to end up like. [EDIT] Was the leather just recently conditioned? I'm waiting for my Gliptone kit to come in and fingers crossed, it will turn it into that.

    That clears it up! Thanks
  5. It cools the engine a little but more importantly it prevents engine knock. It seems they are mainly recommended for F.I. but anyone can benefit from having one.
  6. Very good info here and the topic is staying appropriate too  I've heard from a few people that the clutch travel can be adjusted, can I do this on the Corrado or do I have to press it to the floor every time?
  7. I find that I tend to lean a lot towards road rage and it's clearly a big distraction, sort of like talking on the phone. Yelling makes you even more distracted so the simple cut off way is safer the way I see it. Just do it and be done with it. Two years ago though when I was younger and much more careless, I was with a buddy and this guy about my age with a full car cut me off for no reason on an empty road in the city (it was past midnight). I caught up to him and he gave me a proud look. Then the next thing I know we were exchanging various signs of insult. By then there were a few cars around and since he was on my side of the lane, my friend handed me his then empty mickey and it smashed against his door  . Even though we were out numbered they didn't pull over but the look on the driver's face was priceless. We were both driving beat up cars by the way and am in no way trying to look tough behind a computer but I thought it was a funny childish experience to share. Needless to say I use my conscience a lot more now, since those days.

    DIY Head Rebuild

So no one wants to share their knowledge and fill in the blank spaces? A link to a reputable store that carries what I need would be enough if it takes too much effort to enlighten a newbie. Yes, I used the search and can't find any info on these damn Schrick heads, for all I know it has those parts (other than the cams and chip) already in it. Not that I'm complaining that I have one or anything

    Cubby hole light??

 I had a feeling someone might say that...

    Cubby hole light??

Well for the first time since I've had the car, I actually found a pleasant surprise while stripping through the interior to find damaged stuff. Maybe it's a North American thing but this is what I found in the cubby hole, no light bulb though :? . No part # and yes that's a tiny switch that turns it on/off but isn't wired to turn on when the glove box is opened. Might do that when I run out of things to do  [EDIT] Err...we are talking about the glove box here aren't we?

GIXXERUK, did you just use that behind the pods or for the whole door? Cheers

    Door membrane

Just one thing I'm wondering about, with audioscape pods, would I need to leave a hole around the speaker on the sheet or is it fine without. Sorry if it's a dumb question but my car didn't came with any plastic sheets  so I have no idea if it will affect the sound or not.
  13. Haha...didn't expect to get you guys to argue when bumping this old thread. Thanks for the advice double-6s, sounds like it will be generally too harsh and roads are bad here while 17's won't help either.

    DIY Head Rebuild

I have a schrick big valve head and am saving up for some 268* Schrick Cams and chip. Is it hard to replace the cams? While I'm in there, I want to reduce "valve float" as much as possible so other than titanium retainers what other parts should I upgrade and would it be easy enough for the "weekend mechanic" type of guy. Thanks for any help or advice.
  15. What if you rested your hand on it but didn't move it much from it's neutral position. Would that still make a differnce?
  16. I figure it's too much work to open window and swear. A simple downshift and a close cut does it for me. (without signalling of course  )
  17. double-6s, I can't figure out if the RSS's are two way adjustable, are they? If so can you get a softness out of them with the dampner setting for when you're just commuting?
  18. If you don't want to sell it but want something different, you can always find a way to work around it. One way would be to take it off the road so you won't keep paying those insurance b*stards and have a simple beater to move around in just until you are ready to get the Passat or whatever you had in mind. Later on when you want to take the passat off the road, you'l be glad to have the C there and ready waiting for you. Hope you will decide to keep it because it is a unique Corrado and by selling it, it might just end up in the hands of some rich kids first car. Good Luck!
  19. I can't wait anymore, I'm gonna jump on these too. PM'ed
  20. Thanks for the input, that's really good news because I love the way it looks. There's no rush because I'm building the car from the inside out and want to get everything right before I drive it again because I need to do some work on the front end. The HU will probably be the very last thing I will purchase for the sound system so it should be cheaper by then. On your old one, could you import visualisations or anything like that? [EDIT] Turns out it doesn't have any visualisations at all.
  21. I'm sure it's stressful trying to explain these things. First, the boot is now dynamated and am planning to do the same for the doors just not sure what good the "skins" are for. Since the speakers in the dash have already been replaced, I decided to leave them for a long while. Now the issue with the tweeters, I understand that their position is crucial to sound quality so am I better off to get focal 6.5" with tweeters in them and replace the already hacked up triangular sail panels from each door, or is that a good spot to go for and stick some in there? Second, should I get a second amp for all these speakers or is there no need. If so, I'm open to suggestions. I already have two crossovers that need to be wired up and, I appreciate the offer Mancorr, I'm going to need your help when I get there. The JVC deck, I will look into it more but as long as the sound is above average then I will go for it because I like how clean it looks compared to lots of different colors. Cheers
  22. I have some kind of 3" mids mounted in the dash (which I don't plan to bother with) and 2 X 10" JL subs powered by a Sony Xplod 750 amp in the boot. The PO began installing tweeters in the sail panels (all the wiring is there) but not happy with the units so want to get better ones. After doing a search, the plan so far is to get Lanzars for the rear trays because I want to keep the stock configuration rather than disconnect the blown stock ones. I'm also planning to get the Audioscape door pods, and to replace my crappy Alpine deck with the JVC KD-AVX2 unit. I need some recommendations for quality 6.5" door speakers and tweeters. What's the best way to wire these all together, should I get a second amp, is my Xplod any good? I know they're all newbie questions but audio was never my strong point and don't want to go talking to salespeople. Thanks for any given help.
  23. Cheeers, the PO was planning to go supercharged but it seems that without a short runner mani, there's no point in doing this. That clears everything up, better off without.
