Kev do you know what years were coil pack and what year was dizzy? thats good about the checklist on the obd2 if the engine is a early VR and the replacement was the late VR if i was simply disconnecting the loom sensors ecu etc from the early would they run a later engine on early mgt? i literally mean if i just changed over the bottom end.sump.block.head,manifolds etc Cheers

Hi all, how hard is it to swap a 2.9 VR6 from a corrado to another is it something a reasonable novice could do? I have put a RS2000 engine into a mk5 escort before and used to do a bit of stuff on the g60 like auxillary belts and water pumps etc, Couple of other q's Does the 2.8 match up the same as the 2.9 in terms of fitting is it just the block/bottom end thats bigger due to the extra displacement?? Also if the engine is OBD1 and i want to put an OBD2 in whats the difference? If i was to get a garage to change how much do you reckon it would cost for a straight swap? Cheers in advance Andy

Quick question guys can people tell me much about the engine above how much power did it have? the mpg differences? would love any general info Cheers Andy

just out of intrest for the oil check your oil feed to the super charger if not there then the outlet on the left side of the head shouldnt be losing much from there though if engine is totally rebuilt as for the rest i would take the same route as everyone else!

Which spark plugs for modded G60 and Rallye map sensor ?
iow_corrado_g60 replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Engine Bay
the 5's and W4DPO'S run better with higher bhp, as run colder or have a high temp rating cant remember which! edit: sorry didnt read this properly before what you say regarding the g60 rallye ecu is a 100% right mike managed to get hold of one when he was running his 250+bhp g60 i think you'll struggle to get much more than 265 out of the g thou from the 8v anyhow, but also the rallye ecu is nion imposssible to find for a reasonable price! there rare are rocking horse..... but it definately allows more boost into the engine for combustion but at the same time the 8v doesn't flow well anyway if your this far along going 16v|G60 for 280+ is always an option -
hg read outs im i needing a refurb of the charger
iow_corrado_g60 replied to sparks's topic in Engine Bay

yeah i disable the parking sensor alot now though(especially when its raining hard) the only thing i need to find out how to do is disable the blak jax totally for when i take it into the garage but when they fitted it they said just ring up when ever!

£80 notes for two hours labour you'll be lucky try more like £160 at the stealers
-
I like it and think if you purchase it grenny some sort of forced induction is a must!
-
well i hope it goes to a good home anyway
-
hhehe no gents really happy with the bemmer! but do like this C, and dont think buyers should be detracted but i do think they'll need another car
-
dont think the smoothed bumper looks bad or the wheels but not a fan of the exhaust! Imo the only thing stopping people keeping this car is the fact they probably havent got a second sh*te car to run, as when I had my first corrado which was no where near this standard even though i thought it was in good nick I used to hate taking it anywhere unless i knew i was coming back home, so i brought a crappy ford fiesta to run at the same time. I think your being very critical to the new owner, as alot of the new show goers or veedubbers wont know this was jays car only the die hard fans, and as with any car.......... you buy it because you want not because of what someone has done it the past and to say it'll never really be yours is just stupid when the V5 turns up its yours, but i will say it was an awesome build and all compliments go to jay and let the new owners enjoy it as much as he did, But as for fixing it, again your point is a bit strong, the 24v engine isnt that complex that a good independent wouldnt be able to care for then all the suspension brakes etc could be done by someone with a reasonable amount of knowledge of vag cars,

BACK TO THE VW FOLD..............VR HIGHLINE
iow_corrado_g60 replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Members Gallery
Ive just sold my second G60 as I just need to move on wanted something less expensive to run nice to drive and a bit bigger, so racked my brains for ages on what car as obviously wanted the reliabilty of the VW's(of old) good mpg and enough space in the boot for most eventualities, so i did eventually decided on a few BMW's was going to be either the 323i or the 318is but had to be e36 shape as IMO its the by far the best looking 3-series. then it was down to running costs and insurance as I have 6 points, I now have 5 years no claims so my insurance isn't too bad but the 318is was so much cheaper to insure it wasn't worth not going for so started looking on pistonheads etc and a week later found a very nice montreal blue 318is coupe with factory m-tech kit in cheshire unfortunately i live in bath but i went to scotland to get the last corrado so this wasnt a very big put off. So the bit you've all been waiting for,......... 108k mainly FSH a few stamps from other garages 1/2 leather interior Recent clutch and 2 new tyres Factory Fitted LSD(not sure how rare this is on a 318is) Full bmw toolkit in boot torch in glove box bodywork in very good nick other than a scuff on the front lower bumper Problems found so far: alarm broken whole unit (found this out when tried to get a new fob from bmw) so got stung £80 by bmw but now have fitted a clifford avant guard so my insurance is valid as i had to do this cnt afford anything else this month few bits of bodywork to do.... sligt shudder under breaking and a very slight hesitancy at 2500rpm Then want some CSL replicas and rear lights without the clear indicator need to replace the rear window seals. so what do you all think???? i havent given her a proper wash with the megs so the other 2 pics from pistonheads Cheers Andy and i've just brought these rims they are CSL repls should look minty i hope -
dukest - as being on this forum about the same time as you and only ever only owning vag cars in the past 2 being corrado's, i wanted to stay on the forum which has helped me greatly and met quite some very nice and vag knowledgable people at meets etc, even after leaving the vag stable that people may be intersted and that I still enjoy the forum and think i can maybe add to some future discussions just thought that i would share the joy of me new car, I still love vag cars though :notworthy:

I was of exactly the same opinion before i brought one but there certainly not bad looking cars well the e36 anyways, there always going to be common as they were one of the best selling saloons ever.(so no individuality there granted unlike the rado) but as a day to day car there so easy to live with compared to the corrado, IMO opinion for cruising on the motorway and eating up the tarmac they beat a corrado hands down a lovely little envitonment in the cock pit and very little road noise. massive space all round for passengers(its the first thing every1 says compared to the rado) Also she does about 34mpg at the mo. Shame other than i suppose 328 and m3 there not as raw as the corrado but arse end action is always fun  ,
