Hi guys when i driving along all of a sudden for no reason ill get what i can only describe of as a pulse from the battery everything just goes into overtime i.e heater fan, window wipers go faster and the lights get brighter then it settles down after say 20 secs! my first thought was dodgy battery not the case! my second thought was the alternator? and last thought was some dodgy wiring any ideas Cheers Andy

I remeber when aides car had this problem and it does seem so similar mate you should try and buy/borrow some red tops! did you say you;d tried the bigger FPR? sorry for cluttering up the thread good luck mate

probl(e)ms doesnt sound too healthy have you checked all your leads etc i.e take them off one by one and see if it changes that could cause the stuttering but is normally more pronounced! the juddering could purely be an engine mount but in both my g60's there not the smoothest of cars coming off throttle,

so if i read right mate do you have 2 sets then 9" and the 9.5"?? james you can give mw a price for them un-polished as well if you want, do they have any curbing marks?

pm me a price mate and also i used to have 9" borbets on my old G do you have any issues with the 9.5's cheers andy

I have to say mate shes looking amazing I think i saw this quite early after mike had brought her we went up to the stealth rolling road day and since then last caught up with her at ed38 last year still looked immaculate despite all the red dust! such a massive transformation but so subtley done! shes looking mighty fine mate! catch you soon :drinking:

Boys keeping the Rado now catch you all soon! with a few new tricks! UPDATE: 27/03 after a long hard think ive decided to keep the rado and move onto getting it sorted in the last few weeks shes had mot & tax I went to the auto electrician to sort out the headlight loom, new top mounts at the MOT and a few other little bit including all exhaust mounts, Im putting some new pads on that I just ordered from Daz (g-werks) and i've got the mk3 vr stalks now! so am just awaiting a nice steering wheel then they will go on and i've just ordered lupo wiper kit , plus am debating with the rear screen and whether i trully need it or de-wiper! so theres the progress!! here we go hopefully should have a few more body parts by edition so if anyone knows of some aqua blue panels front wings, doors and bonnet, pls shout at me! then when ive done all those ill start on the engine & brakes! mate you know im only joking in all truth i chose the g60 as i find it quite easy to work on the 8v engine i know my way around it now! the vr engine scares me wouldnt have a clue where to start hows it going anyway bud? you makin an appearance at e38 this weekend im going up tomorrow and camping andy

It's this wknd mate so no excuse now!! Car looks great mate and i love the rims, it is true, you do sell up and always come back, i'm trying now to sell my Golf G60 to return! Although i'm not sure what i want (G60, VR) never been in a 'sorted' G60 before and the only VR i've owned was a Vento. Hi all, recently been thinking about a new cam for my g60 im not new to this neck of the woods talked about this alot when i had my last g60 when i was running a piper285 which i found fine on tickover but alot of the power was higher up the rev range!. so now i have my new g60 and I will be putting a cam in it soon! So of the g60 cams I know these questions crop up in my mind which one yields the most power, which one gives the best driveability, and any other pros/cons of each cam for this engine... So here are the cams i know of or the G60 Newman, Shrick 272 not sure of deg of cam, piper285, Standard, I cant remember if Kent cams do one! So was hoping ppl could share there experiences with any of these cams and give note of where the power bands are? what the driveability is like, what the cam on tickover is like? all these sort of things So fire away......... cheers guys thats great cant believe i missed that was more worried bout oil and stuff engine is very dirty will order it asap glad its nothing too major but knew the last G wasnt like that!

Hi all , not sure if this is a big issue ill do my best to explain as i have no pics as yet! as you look at the cam cover and go right with your eyes past the oil vent on right hand side down the side of the head you meet one of the oil feed braided pipes keep going down the head untill the head meets the block and clutch/gearbox housing! this housing has two cylindrical holes on the top facing up so i can see either the clutch or fly whell sorry a bit vague can someone help or post pic as to hat should go in these holes?
