I think my corrado with an R32 was in group 32 on this new system
-
havent got a clue about that TBH, classic case of someone getting to do all the mechanical bits for me im afraid! but you could also speak to Ben, dont know if he's still about on this forum, but he fitted an R32 into a storm and used an Emerald setup, which also produced around the 280bhp mark. He knows a fair bit more about how it all works. Failing that ask Darren at Gwerks, im sure he will be able to give you the pros and cons, as he's doing two conversions at the moment...

Im having my R32 engine fitted sometime around now, down at Gwerks and thats going to be using a DTA s60 Pro setup, and the guy who we are buying the ECU from has his R32 using the same managment and still manages 285Bhp...which doesnt sound too bad at all to me??

could be a long shot, but have you checked the front crossmember/rad support panel for rust? when i pulled my G60 to bits for the respray, the crossmember had pretty much rusted through around the bolt holes on one side, which could have been a little dangerous? might be causing the banging if yours is the same ? (ive got a brand new VAG front crossmember if you needed one and all the associated nuts/bolts/bushings)

no worries, its there if you get stuck (possibly!)

yeah, its my old G60 box, completly standard spec, just been rebuilt, and diff swapped over from another box, as i had a peloquin in it originally, but still need that so comes with a standard diff freshly fitted. Just phone them up tommorrow and say Dan sent you, i asked them to sell it on my behalf (as im a bit busy at the moment) so they should still have it in the 'back room'
-
Gwerks have a rebuilt gearbox available....just tell them i sent you, (unless they have sold it already) was going to use it for my 16vg60, but now im going R32 so its no good to me.
-
i dont see why not, the eybrow is attached to the headlights/grille so i cant see how it could be a problem...

A*se! :censored: :bad-words: :pale:  :mad2: :pukeright:

£20 ? bet you're only saying that because you've just run out to the garage and tried your irwins on it to see if it'll fit?? Im a gambling man though and i do find it very had to a) not accept a bet and b)not drink alcohol-before during or after a bet so....LETS GET IT ON!!! :bonk:
-
i still say that irwins wont fit....
-
looks a bit tight for the irwins, i'd try a larger allen key socket or drill the head off and hope you can get something on the remainder when you take the rocker cover off...
-
either remove the sump as above or undo the engine mounts and jack the engine up...
-
best thing to do is phone the insurance companies up i think, and see what they are going to say....
-
yeah, just dont do anything silly, same idea as new brake discs/pads, play nice for a few hundred miles!
-
dont forget to wear them in carefully, otherwise they'll proably last all of about 5 minutes!
-
only negative thing that i can think of is the cost, but then again, so what ? the tyres are so much better than anything else out there, oh and you might get comments from other people saying you've got a dodgy wheel bearing or it sounds like its supercharged, because they let off a very little whine at certain speeds. wear-wise i reckon they'll need to be replaced in 4-6 months, probably less as its getting warmer and i dont drive 'that' hard all the time. but the cornering on them is fantastic, you will give up before the tyre does! BUY THEM NOW!!!!
-
been running these on my VR6 for the last 6 months, on my standard 15's brilliant tyre, got them swapped over front to back last week, to even out the wear. done about 6k with them and they still have a few mm left on them, grip is amazing. dont know if i'd be able to drive another car safely without them!

VERY IMPORTANT - ALL 24V CONVERSIONS PLEASE READ!
G60SC_Stoney replied to pete_griff's topic in Engine Bay
very interesting! and unfortunate for you! but i will forward this onto Gwerks, they probably know this but its better to be safe than sorry! -
engine number wont match as its a different engine to the one that came out of the car. its a job for the small claims court really. doesnt matter really to me TBH,the whole family know what they are, i can hold my head up high. Just a shame that the £2k that the engine had cost me went into his mums funeral and his holiday. That and the fact i walked out of a fully furnished flat which i paid for with just the table and chairs and sofas! Haha! but nevermind, their luck will run out soon.....
-
did think about that TBH, but probably not best to discuss anything like that on the forum!! but people like that always get whats coming to them eventually! so no worries there! infact Im happier now than ive been in years!! Got big plans and im keeping to them! Pics due tommorrow!!!
-
dont really know, Darren said a few months, but the speed he's getting on with it, it should be ready pretty soon! Cant wait! but ill be along at E38 and whatever else i can make it to once it is done!

yeah, a nice little update TBH! well actually no, quite a bad update...without going into toooo much detail, my 16vG60 engine which i was planning on selling to fund the R32 project has been kept/stolen by the person i trusted to look after it for me, (my now ex-girlfriends stepdad!) so thats put £1800 in his pocket :bad-words: And to top it all, what did his lovely wife decide to do to my other green VR6 ? cause £1300 of damage to the side of it by kicking it in on her daughters 21st birthday, all because i turned up late, due to not getting on with her family for the above reason! so yeah, ive lost a hell of alot of ££££ recently, and im back living with my parents saving up to move out to OZ this time next year! On a brighter note though, the green one is being repaired as of today, and the DBP is down at Gwerks being finished off! R32 engine mocked up with engine mounts, gearbox, exhaust manifold, etc. So thats moving on sweet as a nut. A Real credit to those guys down there as i really left them in the sh*t, with a half (if that!) finished car, and theyve done really well so far!! Amazing, bought a proper smile to my face when i saw it sitting in the bay!! pics to follow at the end of this week (if i get my daily back from the paintshop in time!)
