  1. heres mine, its a g werks own system...
  2. *cough cough* i will be putting my 2.0 16vG60 block up for sale around christmas/new year... and with regards to £3K for a R32 conversion, YES you can!!! £1000 for the R32 stuff £1000 for the bits-ECU VR6 subframe etc etc and £1000 getting someone to fit it. Im not saying a word, but i financed my R32 conversion by selling a set of BBS RS301s so i know it can be done....
  3. why dont you just get the beam blasted and painted professionally? i wouldnt have thought it would cost more than about £70 (my front VR subframe was £50) and it'll come up alot better than a home job...
  4. yeah they are larger than standard ones!!!!
  5. i would think you want metric fines, but without taking my rear speaker shelves out i cant be sure. just google the correct size nut and put metric fine or MF after it, or even ebay.
  6. i would think so, but just to be sure why not get some nice high tensile ones??
  7. yeah its a G60 pump, VW part number 037145157BX it cost me £231.54 +Vat from vw but that was + the surcharge of £30. you can have it for £170 posted ? i also have brand new oil and water pumps also VAG if you are interested ?
  8. i have a brand spanking new VAG PAS pump here if you wanted it ?
  9. i have six of the halfords ratchet axle stands my G60 has been on them for the last 7-8 months without moving, worked fine and were only £15 a pair (i think)
  10. i have the same in my VR, im going to pull the interor to bits and renew all the clips and make sure everything is secure. only way to be sure!!!
  11. i still have the ABS sensor rings on the hubs, but as my G60 doesnt have ABS, they dont actually do anything :)
  12. finally someone found the cure! it was doing my nut in! i covered the edges of the parcel shelf, and the two speaker plastic things either side with felt strips as i thought it was them making the noise! ill have to give this a go and see what happens!!
  13. my VR6 also does this when cold, sualy on the way to work in the mornings when the negines been on for about 30 seconds, does feel like a fuelling problem, going to give her a good service in the next few weeksand replace a load of parts so we will see what happens after that!
  14. yeah i know, just makes you question the point of the guarantee, when it doesnt really guatantee anything, its just there if you get your tools a bit dirty and cant be arsed to clean them, so you get a free replacement!
  15. yeah, you can see where they went due to the crap thats left around the outside, but i didnt want to risk it, so really cleaned mine up and gave them a good coat of hammerite!
  16. yeah the tool are good, except my 3/8 ratchet gave up on me the other day, the ratchet mech seized solid. took it back under their 'guarantee' and found out...'oh no, we dont guarantee against moving parts'...to which my response was 'so what part of it IS under guarantee?' answer? its if some of the plastic breaks off!!! WTF? so i can replace it when the tool still works but looks a bit used, but the moment it actually breaks anddoesnt work anymore its not covered under the guarantee?!? went home and ordered a 150 piece draper kit instead :)
  17. yeah they went straight on, i was a bit worried at first that i might need to space them out (still might have to if they catch anywhere) but the brake setup fits behind them and the wheels turn with no problems. what do you mean by the back of the wheels exactly? do you mean like this ? back.JPG[/attachment:351h9xv9]
  18. and thats what im using! luckily the disks were drilled to 5x100 from being 4x100, which was a bit of a result! i couldnt use the adapters in the end as they made the wheels stick out way beyond the arches, so by using a 5x100 hub in a g60 carrier it saved me 20mm and put the wheels back in a more sensible position...
  19. doh! i thought you were after some in standard finish! no rush about the grille badge, infact you come and wash my car when she's finished and you can have the badge for free!
  20. *******UPDATE!!!!******* right ive been spending a lot of time getting this car sorted and im nearly there. (sort of!) so far, since the last update i have: - removed everything from underneath the car (fuel tank, brake lines/fuel lines everything!) -undersealed the underside and all the wheelarches with 2 coats of greystripe sealant and 2 coats of waxoyl underseal - completly refurbed the rear beam fitting new bushes, stub axles, H+R anti roll bar new brake lines -got a VR6 front subframe and got that blasted and painted -fitted new wishbones and polybushes all round -Fitted the front H+R anti roll bar--bit of a monster in comparison to the old one! -refurbed the steering rack with all new components -fitted the front subframe and all components back together -fitted my Brembo 4 pots with 305mm disks and braided lines all round -fitted new solid brake pipes throughout the car -cleaned and painted all the heatshields with VHT paint -polished up the stainless exhaust -fitted new exhaust mounts and all i have pictures of at the moment is the front wheels with the BBS RS's trial fitted!! :? its a bit hard to take pictures of underneath the car when its only on the axle stands its been on for the last 8 months! but ill try and take some later. In the meantime, here are some i made earlier....! with the polished BBS 301's which are sold to fund my R32 engine.... :( it does look very nice with them on! and with my colour coded 301's with wider dishes the fitting is VERY tight between the wheels and the caliper theres about 2mm clearance between them  and yes everything is thick with dust, but it hasnt been moved since January!! just going to have a quick bite to eat then im off to fit some more bits!!! Getting there slowly, but im safe in the knowledge that everything on the car, and i mean everything, every nut and bolt, washer plastic clip is genuine vag and 99% of it is brand spanking new! I Think ive spent about £5,000 on new bits from VW since the project got into my garage. and the parts that couldnt be bought new, due to the being discontinued or unavailable for some reason are well unto the job, and are not worn in the slightest. Its probably in better nick than when it came off the production line nearly 18 years ago!
