  1. Ah yeah I remember getting an Alfa gunned by the Gatso when I had my Cabrio. He'd been trying to race me from Wheatley all the way to Thame, all over my boot lid like a rash. So Top roundabout, I ease off let him through then floor it again to get him going quick, and then jumped on the brakes! Two flashes and 3 points on your licence matey! The joy of local knowledge!
  2. I'll go with that, I've got them on the back and "Jupiter" on the front and the Cack cheap ones grip more in the wet than the "Named" tyres, so I can be a little arse lose on wet roundabouts!. Was thinking the T1-r route too,,, however will look into ZZ3's too..
  3. Ah yeah that's a new install.. it's only been there what somewhere between 5-10 years???
  4. That's exactly where I am ATM... Really need new reflectors before messing about with Bulbs & Looms... Am I right in thinking Angels Eyes are only based on Early lights? Will early headlights look wrong on my "late" valver??
  5. PC World are doing the 510 for the same price, but you get a free traffic RDS unit and subscription (doesn't give a time scale) so I went for that :) had my first trip today, went passed 2 Speed cameras and only one was known :-/ only did a 5 mile journey, but it seemed to keep up very well 8) So which one didn't it pick up and how fast were you going past it Dave? ;)
  6. Feck! Just done a ECP/VW ring round, and £160+ a side! Once picked myself up off the floor bunged a wanted ad up here.... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 677#604677
  7. What use a tea tray to block out the light on the road?? :pukeright::pukeleft: I'd have to drive with a paper bag over my head (my own opinion, obviously. I'm sure the owner loves it!)
  8. Jim Ok so I'll need some new lights (ouch there goes the Wallet again) and a "recommeneded loom" (any suggestions?), with a set of 50 or 80% bulbs then?
  9. don't......please..... And a metal flake roof/crushed velour interior/tassels/lace fogged paint...
  10. Bugger, I thought that might be the case, otherwise more prople here would have gone that route..... Looks like its Angel eyes for me then... or new light units and those 80% Phillips X-treme bulbs.... and then maybe one of those uprated looms (but some of teh horror storied I've heard is putting me off those TBH). Unless some-one else has any suggestions...
  11. Rant Time..... Why do all the idiots with sat nav sit in the middle lane on teh bloody m-way? Does your Tom Tom say "continue down the M11 hogging the middle lane at 75"????? Went past at least 5 of them Tuesday night on the way back from Standstead! Every one had a Lane 1-flash-3-fogs-1 fly past from me and did one move over? Did they Boglocks.......
  12. Must say I like the Fat and Skinny combo.. 9's all round look a little too "roller skatey" for me... Mind you saying that, did see a pic of a Seat Ibiza on fully polished 9's that looked nuts.. M 15 VW, if only they were 4x100.....
  13. Ok, like all of us here I'm getting fed up of using my telepathic powers when driving at night. I'm pretty sure my headlights have got significantly worse since last winter, to the point where anything above the legal-posted limit is getting dangerous. I was looking at a MkII Flog with a Ralleye headlight conversion as it drove past me this moring and it struck me the lights look very similar to the Rado ones... Now I know I've seen MkII Flogs with Rado lights so my question is.... Can you fit Ralleye lights into a Rado? They seem to have a "proper" projector light and this would undoubtedly be better than Stockers/ Angels/ etc...?
  14. Furkz, you really want a set of these... ;) Proper Pimp Stylin'
  15. Any recommendations?? Need a few small bits and bobs for the rado...
  16. Guy nearby with an E36 M3 was running these, until he got "caught by the fuzz" (ouch!), saw him at the side of the road removing them and handing them over.... So I guess maybe not his first offence??? (Think he'd been running them since the summer)
  17. Who :shocked!: Mahoosive Pic, beware the wrath of the Mods... Seriously though Black and silver plates are pre-72/3 only (see my sig that's a 1969/70 year plate), you'll stand a much better chance of getting away with a set of White/Yellow German style plates. However for shows then they'll look If you do gor this then please go for Good Quality Pressed Ali plates, the ones on the Notch were and they polished up a treat... To the extent that you couldn't read them when headlights hit (or speed cameras.. ;) ) Go to your local car factors and ask to see a sample before parting with the £40+ a pair set you back though...
  18. Anyone know of/ seen a Rado on Airbags? Just been thinking about a "Lowrider" style... Air/hydros/gold spokes...
  19. Pink? Fully Polished?? With Gold fasteners... Or for full Pimp Appeal, Gold Plated centres???
  20. Photos... Photos more photos.. Send them in along with your claim. Don't tell them it's lowered, take a pic with your car in the hole as well....
  21. http://andysaunderskustoms.freeservers.com/ Have a look at some of his other works. Andy's one of the country's most prolific "Hot Rodder/Car Customisers"

  23. Nope. 17s have much stiffer sidewalls and a larger contact patch, so don't need as much pressure as smaller tyres. Tyres should be inflated to the optimum pressure that doesn't cause wear in the middle or outside edges, not the pressure that's on the door sticker, which is the pressure based on the factory fit tyres anyway. As soon as you change the tyres for a different brand, all that goes out the window, even standard size. Let the tyre tell you what pressure it should be at. You can just feel (and see) when they're at the optimum pressure and it's usually always 32psi front and 30 rear on VWs. Manufacturers that quote unusually high pressures are just trying to improve the mpg figures for sales reasons. Yup go with that I've just stuck "factory" pressure in the tyres on my valver and now booking myself into the dentist to get my fillings put back! The door quoted 38/33 half (ouch bang crash POTHOLE!) and something ludicrous like 41 for full! Going back to 33/30 as soon as I can!
  24. Phil K I was in a similar dillema a while ago, had to be diesel had to be about £20K (pre-vat and OOR costs).. Ended up being a choice of Passat Sport TD and the Old A3 TDi 130 "Quattro GMBH wide track" spec! Both of which I managed to get the arse out on, but the Passat also flashed TCS light in first 3 gears when giving it the beans.... Guess whic one I would have chosen if the boss turned round and said "oh and not German!" I agree with the Mazda 626 comment, quick, well built, different styling, handles really well. But not as well as the Quattro
