  1. Nigel, where did you connect your LED's? I did this mod on my MKII GTi by splicing them into the led from the alarm. Is there a better way to do it as I don't fancy making my COncept 300 looking a bit Heath Robinson. I really fancy doing this again as it looks sweet (and mr thief has no pin to pull up if he smashes the window) but I was looking for a more refined method of doing it. Sorry for taking this off topic slightly.
  2. I can't even push the button down from the inside so I couldn't tell you. Sorry mate
  3. If you get some black plastic to match the rest of your dash you could cut it to shape and it will sit in the vent space. My car has the boost gauge fitted like this and the oil temp gauge is similar but no where near as good (it's cardboard and bllack masking tape). Just a thought
  4. Have you tried Chris Knott Insurance? Their number is usually in The Sprinter magazine.
  5. Realistically I'd try keep the G60 and get a VR and save up and get something else like Skyline or a manual BMW 850. I'm hoping to make lots of money in the future (arent we all?)
  6. I try to wash at least once a week and polish/wax twice a month if not more. What pi$$£$ me off is when you spend the day doing your car and about 20 people that go by slow down and say.... "you missed a bit"!!!!
  7. Glad to hear I'm not alone. It's gotta be done in the winter especially if the car is salty.
  8. Anyone ever washed their car in the rain? Now, before I get hunted down and beaten within an inch of my life with a big stick, I don't mean.... oh look it's raining outside! I think I'll wash my car now! I mean have you ever got one side done and then it starts pi$$ing it down and thought, "well I've started it now", got a jacket on and went out in the rain to finish it! Or do I really need to get out more?
  9. a magnet and a piece of cloth :?
  10. My G60 really needs alloys (it's on standard steel at the minute, also lowered) and a paint job but the engine is sorted at the mo (stage 4, chip & pulley, drilled airbox) so I don't mind spending a bit on looks. I'm not a big fan of sticky-on bits anyway and most definately not on my Corrado! I'm all for accelleration and engine mods are the way to go. Also maintaining the car blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah so what I'm trying to say (eventually :D ) is that I'd be spending money on performance.
  11. So it didn't polish out then? I mean, it was a dangerous high speed manouver that went horribly wrong and there was nothing you could do. You were lucky you walked away
  12. Hope you had a good Holiday Henny 8) Just as well my local stealer's parts department are as useful as a chocolate teapot and have not got the bits in yet or I'd be getting all sorts of crazy readings with senders in the wrong places  Gonna give them a kick in the ar$£ and get the bits asap. Thanks again H and thankyou spoier for spotting some human error :?

Will do. I only seem to have the big black cable with the square connector, not the other one with the white connector. I'll have another look for the other cable tonight and put the specs up for you. Do you need the mounting brackets aswell? I'm not looking for much matey, been sitting in my room since my Golf went to the scrapheap in the sky. £30 + postage sound ok if it is the right model?
  14. I was going to, really I was, but when I got on the road something came over me! I tried to fight it but the  in me won! On the way over I got to know my car a little better and almost pushed it too far so I decided to "be gentle" with her on the way back. Was a great drive though 8)
  15. Cheers matey  Will get on the phone to them and get a price for it. I'm sick of people ridiculing the straw I have for an exhaust. It also means I can ditch that ridiculous looking under bumper spoile too. Standard-ish looking car coming right up!
  16. Was it not the red Mk1 that passed Bothwell services as we were standing around admiring your flesh-wound? I think it maight have been and you arrived at Kames after we did which puzzled me..... now I know why. At least you got it sorted in the end.
  17. Roddy, that's the very exhaust I'm looking for to replace my pea-shooter! Where can I get a hold of one and how much will it cost? Oh, and most importantly, will I get one to fit my G60?

Here are the snaps I promised. Not the best, but you should be able to tell if it is any good to you. Let me know if it's what you are looking for.

I think I might have my old 6 dosc changer at home. I'll check tonight. What shape is the connector because I think mine is an older one with the square connection. I'll have a look when I gat home and put on a photo of the connection.
  20. Glad I could help matey :D It does get worrying though. Lock the door but wait... nothing happens! Bollox, door car back off, everything is connected! Must've buggered it. I'll have a look later. Then afer 3 removals of the door card and 15 mins of locking and unlocking your car.... woo-hoo, it works. :turn-l:
  21. Did you reconnect everything properly when you were putting it back together? Sorry if the question is a bit obvious and dumb (i'm blonde) but I remember when I had the 'wheel off my GTi and reconnected everything the horn wouldn't stop!!! Just an idea though

    STORM advice

Did they not make 10 autos in each colour aswel? Or was it five of each? Or is it perhaps time to take my medication :multi:

    Oil light/bleep

I think thats one of the pressure senders. The temp sender is on the right of the engine block and has a blue and black wire connected. But you are right, you should have something connected there. If you look at the post I mentioned above it should help ypu out.
  24. Joe, your VR is well meaty compared to my G60! When you horsed it past me going into Strathaven I thought you were gonna take off!!! I wanna go faster. Kames was good, nice to meet some people and put names to faces, Roddy and Jill are now more than an avatar! Till next time, I'll talk to you on here.

    Oil light/bleep

Same thing is happening on my G60. There is another thread in problems called "Overheating G60!!!" which goes into it in a bit more detail i think. Big thanks to Henny on that one, still waiting for prices for the bits.
