Ask in your local Halfords if you can borrow them for a couple of minutes. If they say no tell them that you are thinking of buying a new stereo but you have to check something out first behind the old stereo. If all else fails I think they only cost a couple of quid to buy.

A Question for the people with PASSAT Rear handles
biggrim replied to Majik's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Would the passat rears colour code ok or would they look good to start then after 10 minutes of use start to look pants and start to flake? -
I'm with you on this one dubster82. Not too good with the old geography on here eh
-
Tis pretty baws in there. The band is called SERVE CHILLED and we play our own stuff and its rock but not too heavy. Someone once said we were like Travis meets Stereophonics if that helps. Not sure about that one though. Don't really like the "what do you play/who do you sound like" question. Next time we're up I'll give you a shout and you can come listen for yourself (if you want).

It's cut where the exhaust is. Doh! forgot about that. dubster82 is right, £35.25 inc VAT but not delivery from GPC for the 90mm spoiler, I forgot about them. Think I'll get one of the 50mm ones for myself. Check out http://www.gpcvwaudi.com

You could always get a cheap flight and a big suitcase and come over for a visit and get one  . The guy who had the car before me removed the 90mm front spoiler, turned it upside down, and butchered it to fit under the rear bumper. Most likely to help disguise the huge exhaust he had fitted. Getting rid of the exhaust asap. If mine wasn't so bad I'd give it to you when I took it off. All I'd ask is that you pay for shipping. It's unfortunate thats it's in a bad way

Cheers mate :) . It's alway good when someone else has spent some money on it. Needs a respray though  Keeping the steelies for winter wheels when I eventually save up for alloys (yours are V nice) and a respray and a new exhaust ..... the list goes on. Any luck with the windows? Didn't look that bad. I've been at the side of the road after overtaking someone cause mine overheated and looked a right fool  so a sticky window is no real issue. They still hiding the cameras behind the sigh=ns on the way up and down from Aberdeen? Sneaky bastids if they are. Not been up since my band last played in LAVA over a year ago, but want to get up to the wodka bar for old times.

felt like a brea kfrom studying so thought I'd put this on for you Joe. Not the best photo but I think we were doing about 90 so not really the best moment to take a snap.
-
They cost £98 +VAT from the stealer over here. I'm sure you can get them slightly cheaper elsewhere but then you've got to think about shipping costs etc. Hopefully you don't have too many speed bumps over there or you'll be in big trouble with the 90mm spoiler
-
I'll put it on in the next couple of days along with some others. Just want to get this exam out of the way then I've got plenty of time to wash, polish and generally care for the C. Some of the pics are not bad, going to have to play with the one on the mway so you can see whats happening in it.

Does anyone know how easy it would be to fit a late spec dash into an early spec car? Got a 92 G60 with early dash and would like to fit a complete working late spec dash but don't know if the heater dials will work and stuff like that. If I knew I could get everything to work and get a complete black dash, I would consider doing it. Is it something that I could do myself and will everything just plug in where the old stuff was?

The lime attack is quite bad, you can see the primer beneath it but I don't think it will get any worse. There are a couple of little bits that look like they might rust soon but I'm forever polishing it so they hopefully won't get any worse. The thing that annoys me is the fact that the car in general is in good condition for 11 years old and if it weren't for the lime attack, I could probably live with the rest of the niggles for now. Gonna get some more quotes for a respray and see how much it's gonna cost me. On the wheels and exhaust front, definately need to deal with that oversized tailpipe but the one I'm after (MAGNEX with small oval pipe) only seems to be available as a complete system. And wheels........ there are just too many to chose from. Going to return it to pretty standard looking by taking off that rear lower spoiler (when I get a smaller exhaust) and getting one of the 50mm chin spoilers for the front (like yours, late spec). Will keep you posted on the mods though.

Was doing about 80-90mph the way home and was just under 130 on the temp guage. Could it be running higher because of the upgrades? Unlucky with the traffic mate, when did you guys leave anyway? Will we ever get to the bottom of the egg mystery? Just thinking about the dash that never was!!! Do you know if the early spec dash came in black or was it just the late spec one? Need to get me some alloys and a respray, some of the Corrados on show made me realise how much is needing done to mine. Money, Money, Money!
-
Good photos jim. glad it wasn't raining though. the unnoficial Corrado display in the car park was best I think. that and out 3-car-500 yard convoy to the gates. Manage to fit that aerial yet?
-
So thats what you were doing when you parked at the show today!! I was 2 along and one back from you, black G60 with the ridiculously huge tailpipe (which I'm getting rid of as soon as I can affors something a bit more subtle). I'll ask about people I know if they have any idea whats happening with your window. Nice car by the way. Hope you enjoyed the show and had a safe journey back up to the DEEN.
-
Joe M, I'll see you there.
-
I'd be interested but it depends on where and when it is. Might cost me too much in petrol to get there and back!! But yeah, sounds like an excellent plan and "I love it when a plan comes together"!
-
yeah, the guy before me put it on the back for a cheap alternative to a rear diffuser. Getting new front chin spoiler soon (50mm) and removing the one at the back as soon as I can afford a new back-box for me exhaust. It was performance alloys I spotted the rims but can't afford them just now... car need a respray first!!! Being a student is baws
-
Sounds like I'm gonna have to fork out more omney than I wanted to. Just spent nearly £300 in the last 2 weeks on different bits and bobs and was hoping not to spend lots on new plugs. On a tight budget being a student sucks!!!! Mabye just keep the plugs in just now and get good quality ones fitted when I get paid at the end of the month. How pricey are the W6DPO's? Thanks for all the response people.

Getting my G60 serviced on Saturday and was wondering what spark plugs to go for. Local stealer quoted me £13 +VAT each whereas local Halfords quoted me £19.99 for a set of Champion triple spark copper blah blah ones. Getting all of the filters from the stealer but probably not the spark plugs. No time to mail order any unless I can get next day delivery! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I already have a TIM turbo/boost gauge in my car. Will it be a straight swop for a new one. Mine reads from -1 to 1 bar boost and is back-lit. Any one know somewhere that sells a non-carbon look pillar gauge pod that fits the C? Whats the difference between psi and bar? I mean is there any difference in the reading or is it a matter of preference? Could be tempted to buy in for a boost guage.
-
Can you see them now? If not I'll try again. All you do is submit a quick reply then go back and edit it to attach the pics am I right? If I'm doing something wrong can someone please tell me? Thanks
-
Cool! One guy told me how he was down on power by quite a bit when he went on the rolling road with his 17's. What rims are you running? Want to get some ideas but fancy either of the wheels below.
-
Was thinking of putting 17's on my G60 but people keep telling me that I'll loose out on accelleration and performance. Is this purely down to the extra weight of the alloy wheel or are htere other factors involved? Does anyone know how heavy a stock rim weighs ( the ones on my Black G60 on the previous page)? If it is just down to weight I'm gonna get some OZ SUPERLEGGERA wheels because they are VERY light. How light you may ask? 7x17" = 6.9Kg (without tyre). What do you guys think?
-
Someone asked about photos of their C with stock steel rims so here ya go! I think it might have been G60jet.
