I am planning to do abit of maintenance on mine. When the old stuff has been removed I plan to repaint ans bare metal with a zinc primer, then any seals between metal will be brushed with seam sealer, then the whole lot will be sprayed over or waxoyled. You can get most of the stuff from a well stocked Halfords or a decent motor factors.
-
LOL  The cost of the battery includes fitting and disposal of your old one.
-
are you not in Surrey? thought that was a stones thow from Reading?
-
Absolute bargain! 8)
-
The bosch from costco comes with 3 year warranty (think this is standard though?), they will swap if faulty. Just from the looks of it, it is better quality than thew halfords batterys, also has a usefull charge indicator on top.

I got a bosch silver top for 2.0 16v from Costco for £35 fitted, they have a massive range. Halfods and local motor factors wanted £60 + They have a massive range!!! if you want something bigger

Quote of Dutchdub on the syncro forum "No cutting needed - you can keep the rear rallye driveshafts, the only thing you need to do is to change the inner CV with that of a 4Motion. That's it" I take the new brake bias valve was cheaper than buying a new stock part? Also makes the brake lines look a hell of alot more tidy! -
possibly the worst timing belt tensionner in the world

Hi Ben, Nice to see even more progress on this motor, quite an evolutionary process!!! Also am I right in thinking you have no rear brake compensator??? did you just remove this when doing your 4wd conversion? -
MMMMmmm shiney :D Nice paint job, hope the sprayers did get any overspray on those nice shiny crossmembers! my sprayers were complete tw*ts!! decided to leave the windows open for most the job!!!

LOL - sorry for the thread jack! Thats a beast of a cooler, what kind of boost pressure are you going to be running? Would be intresting to see how it fits!

Just wondered what you guys thought of this? http://www.034motorsport.com/product_in ... cts_id=517 Seem like a very well respected company on the S2 scene, get quite alot of stuff for your cash, i.e. crank sensor + plate, distributor removal plate, ig module etc etc.

just took a look at the head on mine, should be ok, with a bit of fiddling. I am planning on using a KKK24 turbo (S2 setup), managed to get a few bits still al ong ways off though :( was looking at cooling, is this possible; remove the VW oil cooler and stick in a mocal oil cooler. Then use the water pipes that fed the VW oil cooler, as water feed and return pipes for the turbo. Was looking at vagcat / haynes.
-
Does this mean you lose the oil temp for the mfa? or can you use some type of adpater?
-
Cheers, was told the water cooling is only effective during track use, will the water from the matrix pipes not be hot? Wonder how the turbo'd VR6s on the forum do it. When I evuntually do mine was thinkin of taking feed via t piece from the oil cooler retun, don't know if that is poss though. Are you going for a 13 or bigger row oil cooler?
-
You can buy them ready built, but that's half the fun! It isn't that difficult to put together to be fair! LOL  last time I soldered something I made a right pigs ear. Think my hands are just too big and clumsy  Dohh! Dec: is your turbo going to be Oil & watercooled? if so where are you planning to take the feed? and return? Cheers and keep up the good work!!!
