Yeah I am interested! -
Yeah i did think of making one my self but after running an open filter I tired of the OTT sound.
-
Easy as pie. I just used a cut down windscreen washer fluid bottle to join the maf to the filter.

Bump last day! Just ordered 10 litres of the Silkolene pro s 10w50, great stuff.

I average 27mpg. Thats driving to work slow/stop start town driving. But on a usual run its around 29mpg and has been as high as 35mpg  .

TBH I had the decat fitted a few days before the bmc. I found I lost a little low end torque but it pulled better mid-top end. However I replaced the open cone filter with the bmc and this seems to have regained the lost low end as well as a general improvement though out the rev range.

Have just got round to fitting my decat and bmc cda (brought for the bargain price of £38 and £74 8) ). What a difference! I was running an open filter before which was probably loosing power over stock anyway, but since fitting these two I ve now got more low end grunt and the kick at 4k is a fair bit stronger very pleased would highly recomend these mods. :-P Next suspension..

Welcome :thumbleft: -
Yeah the mention of ecotek valves didnt inspire me to say the least but from the sounds of it the inlet work sounds quite thorough.
-
that'll be the one lol

Whilst browsing I found that http://www.hiflowheads.com offer a few parts for the VR6 motor. But what caught my eye was the inlet manifold work which they offer, so I sent them a mail and received the following. Hi the std inlet manifold is very restrictive. This is mainly due to the location of the spark plug apetures in the manifold. We cut the manifold open & port the internals removing the main restrictors. Once all the work has been done the manifold is re welded back together. All the work is done on the underside of the manifold. We have also incorprated 2 Ecoteks valves in manifold to help throttle responce & low down torque. Finally, we also port the existing throttle bodies to, again imprve throttle responce & torque. The only downside to the manifold, is like VSR, you need to remove the manifold to remove the plugs. hope this give you an insite to what we do. It really is a cracking little mod & offers signifcant improvments for those on a budget. ANdy Hello Whilst browing you site I came across the inlet manifold work which you offer for the VR6 engine. I may be interested in this but basically just wanted to know what was invloved work wise? Also again with the the modified airflow sensor. Thanks Steve Atkins (http://www.the-corrado.net)

Right have managed to get the lead working  and have just completed a scan which lasted about 30's..is that right? Anyway the engine had no faults found (or dtc's not supported by controller or a communiction error ocurred) ...how do you tell? (sounded like a relay was clicking on and off). Came to the abs and say's excessive comm errors then a box apears with sorry this function requires Vag-com to be registered. .. pretty straight forword need to register I guess. Anyway how long should it take for the engine scan?

144k still on original chains & tensioners and clutch
-
Very nice sooo much better than the horrid standard handles
-
I am sure it says you only need to plug the lead into the computer then test the port, once thats done you then save it and this allows to you to run the test. But i'll try it in the car to see if that works...

Ok cheers! nothing to major by the sounds of it.

I ve noticed looking at various suspension kits that there seems to be a change over at sep '94. What exactly changed? would I still be able to fit a kit from a '93 onto my '96 VR? :?

When I plug the cable in its detects it. I ve found a driver which allows it to be installed under the "usb controller" but still when I come to check the port on the vag com it just cant find any lead "rosstech interface not found"! :2gunfire:
