Not sure tbh. I was quoted the following though: "We do a full package job for the Corrado VR6, this consists of all timing chain and tensioners replaced, new clutch, full cylinder head overhaul, cam followers, gaskets and fluids etc.. for £1450 inc vat. If you want to bring the car up for a inspection first then no problem, just give me a call." Hopefully looking to have this done in a couple of months

Theres a group buy on at the moment on here (waiting for prices). I'd say Your quoted price is a bit OTT.

Best to get it hooked up on vag-com that way you can see which sensors need replacing.

Anyone found a product that cleans the silver (currently brown) engine cover? Have tried various products including carb cleaner, but its just not shifting!

Surely a g60 is faster to 60 than 8.9? Also the golf is mega heavy at just under 1400kg I am sure a 1.8 16v would probably out run one.

Engines are the same though?

Coxylad has one for sale on here (for sale froum) for £400 I believe.
-
Same with mine . Gearbox I believe.

All I know is that there are two versions, early lumps have 10v's with 150bhp and the later have 20v's with 170bhp. Not sure when the later engines came into effect think it was some where around 2000.

Just fill each cell until the plate is just submerged.

Its crazy how the law come down hard on all other motoring offences speeding, number plates etc etc and yet scum bags can nick a car (probably without a license) beat the hell out of if putting loads of peoples lives at risk, then usually smash it into other cars/cause and accident and get away with it pretty much Scot free!!!!

Expensive!! I was quoted to have the chains tensioners clutch and full head rebuild including all parts fulids etc 1450 from stealth. I plan to have this done in the next couple of months.

Forte (spelling?) gas treatment is very good. Not seen it for sale in the shops but you should be able to get it from most garages. Wouldnt bother with redex or any other additive tbh.

Hello and welcome from a fellow newbie

You will probably have to buy a backbox specificly for the vr6. And not a backbox from a system package as they tend to differ. TBh I ve not seen many avialable for the VR mainly just full systems. You could always go custom if you just wanted a backbox on your standard system.

Just wiped the inlet hose off to reveal a nice dirty throttle body  anyway the crank case hose which feeds back into the inlet hose doesnt help this so I was going to remove it and fit a small breather filter to the rocker cover. however there seems to be a sensor connected to the pipe will removing this cause any problems. Heres a pic borrowed from another tread.

8) nope cant help it. Cheers will get some more pics up once its lowered!

Cheers. Will look to do the wiper conversion, but not really top of my list at the moment. I am not sure on the wheel front, either something oem looking or a nice set of dished wheels.

I am just not a fan of the standard "flood lit" dails they look realy dated, I guess the white dials dont look to bad though, do you know the rough cost of the kit?
-
No sorry I mean the dials
