I'd recomend a BMC CDA. Its not to noisy, alot quiter than an open filter but still sounds sweet over 4k. And should gain you a few extra horses! ( 7bhp as tested on stealths rr I believe)
-
Indeed! I brought a cam position sensor then lost it the next day! £40 down the pan .. working out at £80 for one bloody sensor
-
Yeah 15 mins. Its located in the head above the coilpack. U need to remove the top end cover (plug wire guilds) to get to it. Held in place by one 6mm (I think could be wrong) allen key bolt. If you do a search on here theres some better guilds as its a common problem on the VR.

Yeah i'd recomend doing a fuel filter change. The the restricted acceleration sounds like the cam position sensor is on its way out. I suffer the same with mine (on the list). The part number for this is (W021 907 601 A) £40.73 including vat.

Right just had the belt off. The water pump is feckered. Must have atl east 10mm of movement side to side how its not leaking I dont know.
-
Yeah hopefully. Although the noise (a kind of clattery sound) seems to be coming from further down. I'll slacken the belt at lunch and turn the water pump by hand. I just hope its that tbh, as at the moment I am not convinced. I'll report my findings!

Strange one here. Got to work this morning and noticed an unhealthy noise coming from the engine bay. Though bugger probably the timing tensioners (143k on original chains and tensioners) however when I popped the bonnet it seems to be coming from the drivers side low down. The water pump pulley looks on the piss, but I plan to slacken the belt off at lunch time and investigate that. Could it be the power steering pump? (how to tell?) did a search but didn’t come up with much, anything else it might be? Really need to get this sorted otherwise no rr for me on Sunday

Coolio! think all mine need doing. Will replace this one first though as its the cheapest :)

?? I think from your description it needs new wipers blades? people use the aero wipers from the Lupo's to upgrade the standard items as there not great.

wots the difference between VCT and VVTI ?
steve @ replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
Same, manufactures use different terms for what is effectively variable cam timing. -
The early cars used the smaller splines upto '88 from then on it moved to the larger spline. Thats all I know. Here are the momo numbers for their boss kits if that helps 1211212 for the small early. 1212012 for the late large spline.

More details please! look ideal.

second pic down I recon.

If its not using oil and water and still producing the goods then theres no point IMO. Mines on 143k and still going well. Having said that I think Stealth do a full top end rebuild inclucing new followers as well as chains, tensioners and clutch change for £1400 all in. Which Iam looking at in a couple of months
-
Yeah your right It could do with a set of lowering top mounts to bring it down 10mm at the front. Although in this pic it doesnt look to bad http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1418

Yeah the bmc seems to be working well. Used to have an open filter which was mega loud. the bmc gives a nice subtle sound nothing ott but still enough to raise a :D

A quick pic of her lowered. I am happy not to low but enough to stop all the 4x4 jokes will give it a good clean this weekend. Fk grill, red rear lights & infinity comps to be fitted as well. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1417

Not sure here, just going to stick my neck out. But the cams in the 2.8 and 2.9 are the same? and the yanks had the 2.8 in the raddo. So at a guess the cams will fit all vr6 lumps only the duration and lift will varry depending on spec. I was looking at a set which are sold on ebay from the states, 268's.

Dark blue Raddo, might have been a VR in Banbury at about 5.40 heading towords the M40. -
Looking good. Nice location! Have the wheels been resprayed? as they look kind of gunmetal in some pics , which I am liking.
-
Yeah 4wd will reduce economy for the simple fact that its having to drive 4 rather than two wheels.
