too hot replied to jims corrado's topic in Suppliers Forum
jims corrado, EVER WISHED YOU HADN`T STARTED SOMETHING? Yeah my bathroom,but that`s a different story.........Sorry :!: :!:  -
jims16v, Yeah I take it you don`t need it or do you :?:
-
jims16v, Does this mean you don`t need the stereo. :?:
-
Anybody going from the west coast and wanting to travel through to Star together, let me know and we can meet up. :?:
-
Joe M, Our local VW dealers do the full bhoona 4 wheel alignment too. Don`t know how much they charge though or if they can work properly.
-
Anybody changed the dash display colour to the new Golf blue colour.(just got a new stereo with variable colour display). I now fancy blue dash lights,is it as easy as just changing bulbs or is there more to it than that :?:
-
Scott, Sounds like a bargain to me ,try taking it to VW to get that lot done, pity they are not closer to me.
-
Scott, At a guess I would say £500........close?
-
Joe M, Suppose it depends what you are going to get as a trade in against it,for your car.You really want to have a fair idea what they are going to offer before you start travelling. If they make you a good offer for yours then the newer car with warranty might be worth it.............maybe :!:
-
Joe M, Hi Joe it looks a really nice one with a Reiger grille and what look like ABT wheels,if that is the case then it looks as if it has had a caring money no object type owner :!: Which is just what you want .But in my opinion it is way over priced,no wonder they still have it after two months. :!: But there again the decision is yours as Cilla would say.
-
vr6storm, Yeah I`ll be there,Jim Curly will have a Tv rigged up anyway won`t he :?:
-
Joe M, dan, Cheers guys. :thumb right: The wheels are BK Racing 144`s.I just got them refurbished locally and they have came up like new.Only thing was they had plastic allen srews round the edge of the rims originally, but during the refurb process they melt and drop out so I had to replace them all(80) with nickel plated allen screws. It was certainly worth it as they look really 8) .The wheels also needed a 5mm spacer on the fronts to clear the caliper carriers.I`ve fitted 5mm spacers on the back as well to bring the wheels out just a bit,to improve the look. dan, You are right that is electric Recaro seats, they are both height and recline adjustable really cool and comfortable. The car is pearl green metallic and is murder to photograph in bright sunshine(not that we get much of it up here  ) That`s Arran in the back ground by the way. :thumb right:

Joe M, Yeah looks good Joe. 8) I didn`t realise the cup final was on 16th,I`ve already said to Roddy I would go to Star :? Decisions decisions :D :D

C6 SVR, I doubt it ,i think you will find the later MK2",ie after 1989 with the hazard light switch on the top of the steering column, will probably fit.I think the earlier one has a thicker steering column. :?

stormseeker, BANANA MAN, Yeah I agree with that.As far as the rear Corrado badge goes you are better off leaving that, too much work particularly on a Storm. You will be able to peel the rear stick on VR6 badges off with a little bit of effort,I think the Storm badge is just stuck on too.(bit collectable and irreplaceable now). 8) As for the front grille Do you want to lose the VW badge or is it just the VR6 badge, the Vr6 is easy, just pops off as Banana Man says. :?: Removing the VW emblem involves buying another grille and lots of cutting and glueing. 8)

8vg60, Excellent cheers Darren that`s what I wanted to know, now all I need to do is find out how to get my photographs on the gallery. :?:
-
dazzyvr6, I would tend to agree with you there.I had the same problem with my G60, just rip it off and throw it away.Job done.

Hopefully this is the right place for this topic. Just fitted new alloys to the C and discovered I had to use a 5mm wheel spacer on the front to allow the wheels to clear the brake caliper carriers. :!: Now I have decided to fit the same size spacer on the back to bring the wheel out slightly and improve the look 8) The question is have any of you guys used spacers before and are there any problems associated with them.Someone told me that the use of spacers increases wear on steering components and wheel bearings :?: Any ideas or thoughts :?:

sefton, When it stops snowing and I fit my Koni coilovers I`ll let you know. 8)

andyg60, Dunno if this would work. But the other day I was looking around a Seat Toledo "P" reg and the door handles look remarkably similar to the Corrado,Passat. The rear ones have no locks as well.It might be worth trying around a few scrappies for a seat Toledo and trying it out.(There must be more Seats in scrappies than Corrados) Just a thought. Don`t ask why I was looking at a Toledo in the first place.

longman,I remember having Yokos on a Golf on 17`s and they were always noisy tyres. I think changing the profile will possibly give clearance problems,is the car lowered? The other thing with changing the profile is that it will muck up your speedo readings, the tyre profile has a direct effect on your speedo`s accuracy.Could make the difference between clean driving licence and three penalty points. I think I would either wear out the Yokos or take them off and sell them and change them for some quieter tyres :!: :!: 8)

8vg60, Yeah that is a good mod.You have to be careful where you park now. Cos when you park in a car park you can be guaranteed that some old fizzer or young mum with ten kids will park next to you throw the doors open and leave your C with lovely parking dings :!: :!: Just remember to take two parking spaces everywhere. You know it makes sense   8)

jims corrado, I normally find that a petrol soaked rag takes off all glue, just don`t smoke while you are doing it.Take care. 8)
