  1. my camber was checked recently and was told they are fine
  2. Yeah but the wheels are all the same offset and the wings are the same so unless my front axle has decided to move  i cant think of what else might cause the problem. mine are like this on the front, friggin anoying 'cus I dont know why it like it! I will be checking that the subframe is central next time its on a ramp
  3. Excellent news! I bet you cant wait?! Will be starting a how to guide tonight hope fully so may need your input.
  4. It must have been when I went into town to get road tax. Thanks for that Chris, just to let you know Ive emt a few more VW fans round here and told them about you and your corrado as they havent seen any others but mine. Best get your car sorted out quick mate, otherwise Ill knock your door down and force you to fis it. I need a wingman!!
  5. go on then, I need the space. details on payment can be found on the same link on page one.
  6. i had this recently. I took the whole spoiler assembly apart, inc the motor and cleaned out all the cr@p and regreased throughout. Now works very well.
  7. ? sorry, Im still a bit sleepy, what do you mean? After reading the junglists' comment several times I believe he means: "My car was slower than yours when it was 12v, it will surely be even slower now you have gone 24v. Good work chap" Cheers, both for the compliment and translation. Hows yours coming on?
  8. ? sorry, Im still a bit sleepy, what do you mean?
  9. seems like a bit of a bargain to me. love the looks of the mk1 rocco. good luck Karl this car is as stunning in real life.
  10. lol,ok ok. Ill start something this weekend before I start forgetting things.
  11. no idea what setup the magnex system is, but this fits 2" exhausts (standard vr6 pipe iirc) I think postage will be about £18 due to the size and weight.
  12. i have one, see my link in the signature
  13. Yup, you did mention it. But I didnt want to believe you  Was just hoping I didnt have to modify the mount. And yeah the engine sits nice and lovely. Handling seems to have improved too
  14. Pete tried that with it on the car after I first fitted it and it wouldn't budge. I think the best option is to take it off and get it bent properly. I'd rather not go chopping my engine mounts if I can help it, the downpipes should fit right in the first place tbh! I'll put up with it for now (along with everything else!!) whilst I save up a bit and then I think I'm gunna do a bunch of jobs at once. have you already modified the rear engine mount? If not, this should help you out.
  15. fixed the problem today, just modified the rear engine mount, trimmed it down by 15mm and now seems OK. Maybe dubpower will adapt the manifold now they know its a fitment problem specific to corrado's. Ill have a word with Pete and see what he has to say.
  16. Ever since first fitting the engine and exhaust manifold theres been the clash with the bulkhead and exhaust. Dubpower had no idea of the cause but said that I needed to raise the gearbox side, did that and it levelled out the engine in the engine bay but didnt cure the clash. Fortunately I met Pete at GTi Inters and we got chatting and he was just as confused as me so we spoke to "insert name here" from Storm Developments and he had the answer. The corrado requires the rear engine mount trimming down 20mm. And guesse what he was right. Took a spare engine mount apart, cut down the rubber by 20mm and trimmed the metal shaft on the mount by 20mm. The metal shaft then needed drilling out and tapping to make up for the change. I did the work on an old mount and reckon 20mm was too much so will modify the good mount to loose 15mm instead. Either way, it looks like the manifold clears the bulkhead and when I drove it it sounded much quieter and the drone had gone  So to summarise, the r32 swap will need slight modding to the rear engine mount to allow the dubpower exhaust to work correctly. I modified the front mount to clear the r32 cooler but not essential if you go for an off engine oil cooler. the gearbox mount seems fine as is.
  17. I have one fitted to my converted rado. nice bit of kit but still having to over come some fouling issues. Latest after talking to the guy seems to be that I need to lower the back of the engine by 20mm. so its not really an off the shelf part for a corrado r32 conversion. customer service is top notch though.
  18. Well done at this weekends GTi Inters, well deserved
  19. If your mate is any good with photoshop, it may be worth taking a static photo and blur the background and wheels to look like the car is moving. I think thats what some pros do.
  20. I will be keeping an eye on what you go for rob as Im looking into gaz dampers, might even stretch for the gold versions! just cautious with the quality issue they are been reported to be bad on. I'm using really cheap coilovers at the moment kw av's front and jamex rears (to get through an MOT) but since fitting the jammex the ride is very harsh. Im hoping to go for a decent set soon but want a more comfortable setup.
  21. cool, thanks for the ideas guys. My car is a 1992 and iirc the cat legislation came in at 93/94 so I can use the line "it doesnt need it" plus the guy didnt notice the deleted side indicators so maybe he wasnt too strict. :luvlove:
  22. i think speeds 1 and 2 are controlled by the thermostat temp sensor, 3rd is off the rad sensor. im sure someone here will know for sure
  23. cheers lifuzzer Well guys and gals....it failed the MOT :mad2: .....offside parking like not working!......so I went away and sorted it out, took it back and.......it passed! The guy testing was very complementary, and we chatted for a bit. A few minor advisories inc slightly corroded pipes so will put that on the list of things to sort out before the next test What I was most please is the emissions, decatted I got 0.21% CO and 231ppm Hydrocarbons. The max allowed were 3.5% CO and 1200ppm HC! So my worrying about the emission test wasnt needed. :luvlove: Still not happy with how firm the rear jamex struts are, makes the whole car ride like a go kart. any one got any good sugestions with coilovers that are close to OE comfort?
  24. Replaced the leaking rear strut yesterday for the MOT later this morning. First one since the 24v swap so am apprehensive but heres hoping Took it out for a drive yesterday with the new rear bushes and the "cough" jamex rear struts. Handles much better now but is a bit too firm for my aging body so will start to consider what suspension to go for. Would need to try some out first before shedding out on a decent kit. I looked at air ride, but this comes in at £3k!! I like the idea of being low for general driving and then raise it up for bad roads and speed bumps.....may have to make my own hydraulic setup me thinks Any way, wish me luck today
  25. very very impressed. just wish i had the patience to do the work you've carried out :notworthy:
