any that i have missed or misplaced?
-
been enjoying the car for the last few days and each time it bring me home with a bigger smile, well that was until i ended kurbing the rear alloy :censored: oh well they are a bit tired and could do with a refurb or may look at finding some nice porsche alloys to replace them. I reckon my pedal travel is pretty spot on, the full throttle seems to be giving it just that and i seem to have control of the revs throughout the pedal travel. still need to sort out the exhaust but that will take some time i reckon how did you r32 guys get the rev counter to work im having trouble getting an adaptor, Mark at swict cant help.
-
well yes and no, i have a vw eos loom powering the audi ecm, and a vw r32 pedal which may be a mk4 that controls the audi horses . but some components are model specific such as the maf sensor (im led to believe). So with a little research and gut feeling/luck you can use a combination of parts.
-
nice looking rado, I found the trickiest part of the r32/audi 3.2 conversion was sourcing all the relevent parts.....oh yeah and searching for any dropped money behind the sofa! good luck with it all, say hi to mark at swict for me.
-
thanks for the heads up. Might be worth a call to trading standards?
-
cant you get GSF to replace it? Sounds like its a faulty item to me?
-
Yup, it was a feature in the feb issue of pvw! However i think they used filters to tone the pink down a bit lol
-
Im sure I saw a feature on this in Perf VW before Max Power did it. It's not the colour I would want, not even for the missus' car but tell you what, it's working....he's getting peoples attention and getting them talking.

Im not sure but I think my flat spot on the rev range has gone, well I hope anyway. Im just wondering if it takes a short time for the ecu to learn the fueling of the engine and may cause a flat spot. Now this got me thinking, could your ecu be loosing the learnt data? Might be a duff ecm, or the ecm requires a permanent feed which helps store the learnt values? This is a complete guesse but I thought I would suggest it. What do you think?

 not good. hopefully they will get it sorted properly. If not, strangle them with the pieces of trim you have!
-
hmm tempting, now i wonder if I can sneak a few turbos out from work. GT35 would be interesting
-
thanks again guys for all the positive feedback. Could someone let me know which oil pressure sensors I should use, or do I use both? Part numbers would be great 'cus vagcat still isnt working. Is it a simple swap, ie same wire just different connection? And any idea which wire I use from the fan control box to control the aux water pump?

couldnt tell if yours is a 3.2 or 2.8, let me know so I can keep the list as accurate as possible.
-
just had a quick read through and must say that its a great build. really want your interior now! Will be on the lookout for a beige setup now. Paint looks lurvley too.
-
sorted the duplication, again lol I guesse those are all 2.8 builds too??
-
wasnt sure if you got the colours mixed up lol I guesse the 2motion is a 2.8?

I was pretty close to doing this, but finding a donor engine, parts are difficult and expensive. Not to mention the tricky fueling. Maybe we will see a few pop up now one or two golf r36 builds have been done. I've seen a few R36 engines and assorted bits needed for about €4-5k on German ebay. I know of a mk4 R32 Golf that has been done. There's also the mk2 Golf thats for sale at £20k! ! ! yup, and thats the price just for the engine!! Ive seen that golf your on about but really only want to record corrado builds so far. The golf is most likely the one built by storm. they charge roughly £10(k) for the conversion :gag:

Your not thinking of Petes Griffiths car are you? If so, he broke it up for bits :(
-
get some pics/details up!!

Just been reading the last few pages of your thread Rob, very interesting read esp' with the flat spot issue. Mine seems to be demonstrating the same issues so will be keeping in contact. How did this weekend go?
