  1. I had the silencer on my old Chimaera cut open with straight thu pipes fitted and then resealed. What a fantastic sound!
  2. Yes it was the tail pipe piccie I was after so thanks for the link More importantly will it fit an early C? Cheers
  3. As per the title. Also there is a Scorpion back box being advertised on Ebay which says it will fit an 88-91 Golf G60 & Corrado. I have the early hook hanger exhaust and was wondering if it will fit my C? Thanks,
  4. I'll 2nd that. Really good delivery on a top quality rear engine mount. If only I had gone there in the first place!
  5. Deffo glow plugs. Just done them on my 1.9 TD 306. 3 out of the 4 open circuit. Exactly the same symptoms Just lift off the connections to work out which ones are duff The worst one to change is the one that sits right behind the fuel pump. You'll need to take ic off though. be careful with the i/c hasket on the side - as soon as it pops out its almost impossible to get back in without cutting it.

  7. Look great - very tempted. Not sure how they will look on a burgundy car though Are they E marked?
  8. I fitted a GSF rear mount recently as the original one was a bit weak. I must admit the amount of vibration in the car has increased 2 or 3 fold. Most of it is noticed on idle where you can feel vibration thru the steering wheel and it feels like I'm doing 200 + MPH when I'm only doing 70! So what are the options ignoring OE?
  9. like the sound of that 8) Me too :D :D
  10. Just fitting the the elbow of the boost return pipe c/w associated gauze to the throttle body quietens things down a lot too
  11. Not just the belt I suppose. If a bearing siezes, the belt will snap regardless of age & width. Assuming a bearing is to blame... Then again I may be talking cr=p, I usually do.
  12. Thanks Darren, Wasa tad worried as per my message as the orrifice banjo bolt hole was much smaller (1.5mm dia) compared to the original (4mm). Good, so I can go out and play now...
  13. OK, Have just fitted my rebuilt charger courtesy of G Werks. Just for peace of mind I decided to run the charger with the oil return disconnected to satisfy myself that there was sufficient oil flow through the charger. Anyway, with warm oil 70 Deg +, I only get a constant drip out of the charger return hole on tickover. Is this normal? Should I see more of a flow if I raise the engine speed? There is pressure on the feed and the feed pipe is only 500 miles old. Plerase help Cheers
  14. Hmmm Plenty of plonkers like that in Leicestershire...
  15. I just used standard black enamel (Airfix!) paint.
  16. Waxoyled my chassis, sub frames etc. Bloody messy job. It's amazing what you do when your car is off the road for one reason or another
  17. I concur with the above. He promised me first refusal on 2 cars - he ended selling them to others. Promised to call me back with other cars - he never did. I took an afternoon off work to see one car. He wasn't even there. Some lame excuse that he had 10 buyers for each one of his cars.
  18. Have the paint & primer at the ready...
  19. Many thanks When will all this spending ever end..?
  20. Inspired by the forum banner picture - I want one! Can anyone please point me in the direction of the best / cheapest place to purchase such item? Many thanks.
