  1. There was a set of mirror polished VR6 Speedlines on e-bay this week. Don't know if they're still there though, haven't checked. :D
  2. I've done this myself cos I is a bit fick. The wire you need to disconnect is blue with a white stripe. I found out about it somewhere on this forum, thankfully.
  3. Freshly restored 1970 Beetle, Starting to get a bit tatty again 1979 Vw Derby, Lovely Corrado VR6 and the sad remains of a 1986 Polo (engine donor!) Do I win a prize? It's all getting a bit much really! :D
  4. I managed 114 the other day whilst being chased by my mate in his VR6 Golf. Surely 120 is something to be proud of, Rams? 8) I'll keep trying, see if I can beat it. :D
  5. My old valver had the floating revs problem. It was a tube broken off the over run cut off valve. Cost me a fiver for a replacement from a scrappy. The overall poor performance could be down to the timing being adjusted too much for unleaded fuel. I had that problem too.
  6. Try 'Autobahn' distribution on 01953-717156 I think they still import them, they're included in their 2003 catalogue. I don't think they deal direct with the buying public but they should be able to let you know who your nearest dealer is. If you get really desperate I'll be able to get you some via the company I work for but I'm a long, long way from sunny Aberdeen! :D
  7. I'm on Continental Sport Contacts at the moment. I only ordered them because Conti is a German company and I'm naturally biased! When they arrived they had 'Made in France' on the sidewall. Gutted. :( Still extremely good though. :D
  8. Sorry and all that but my vote went to the Citroen DS. I've fantasised about them since I was a kid. Obviously if there'd been any V-dubs in there then it would have been a different story. :D
  9. Looks like I'll be there on Saturday night. Been every year since '93. Best weekend of the year. Booze, bad music, V-dubs and the worst toilets known to man. Superb :D
  10. Had me beauty hooked up to a 1551 last night and it says that my offside front and nearside rear sensors are faulty. The front one is no problem (about 27 quid from German & Swedish) but apparently the rear one is hideously expensive and has to be a geniune part. Anybody know where I can get a rear one from at a sensible price? :?
  11. Tatton Park, sunshine, tons of lovely Dubs or spending the weekend meeting the in-laws for the first time? If only I had a choice. Gutted :(
  12. I've just consulted my Michelin tyre data book. The overall diameter of the original 20550V15 is 595mm The overall diameter of the intended 20540Z17 is 602mm This means the radius and consequently the ride height will increase by 3.5mm when fitted with the 17s so the difference is really next to nothing. Bear in mind that there is 6.4mm of useable tread on a new tyre anyway so the difference is about 5000 miles of treadwear depending how you drive! (Personally I'd leave the original wheels on though. It seems wrong to mess a Storm about to me) :D
  13. Anybody been here before? Usually makes me chuckle. :D http://www.sniffpetrol.com/
  14. Rams, I bought a Snooper S6 GPS speed camera thingy about 6 months ago and it's brilliant. No false alarms and it's never missed a fixed camera yet. Heard good things about the Road Angel but the Snooper does a bit more. :D
  15. Frostee, you were spot on, ta. Sorted it last night. :D :D :D
  16. It confuses the arse off me to be honest and I sell several sets of alloys a week. :D
  17. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... egory=9873 :D :D :D :D :D
  18. The original Speedlines are only 6.5x15 though so 7x16 replacements are obviously half an inch wider consequently the inner rim is 6mm closer to the inner wheelarch if you keep the original offset. :? The offset needs to be increased by at least this 6mm to give the same clearance so it needs to be between ET37 and ET40 by that reckoning. :? If the replacement wheels turn out to be 7.5x16 then in theory they should be ET34 to ET37. :? In practise it makes very little difference as long as there are no bodywork clearance problems and most aftermarket wheels are only available in certain offsets anyway. :D If you go somewhere reputable for the wheels then you won't have to worry about all this as they'll sort it all out! :D :D :D
  19. I've just checked the BBS fitment list and they list an ET35 for the VR6. The wheels I recently put on mine are ET35 and look right. I would imagine that ET46 would sit too far inboard. http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1719
  20. I've put 7x15 on with 19550v15 tyres and there was plenty of clearance. Good luck. :D
  21. http://www.clubcalibra.com/section/inte ... riaestefan Looks like I've been rumbled boys :D
  22. I really am amazed how polite and accomodating they've been so far. I truly thought that all Calibras were driven by yobs in baseball caps who only referred to them as 'Callys' because the couldn't spell the whole word. So far they seem better at spelling than us Corrado boys too. My Girlfriend (English teacher) is very impressed. :D Bruntingthorpe shoot out? Now that would be entertaining.
  23. The bolt pattern (pcd) is definitely wrong. Mercedes and Granada 5 stud wheels fit okay but nuts for them are a bit of a challenge to get hold of. You could probably fit the Porker wheels with adapters. There's a company called Machine 7 that does this sort of thing. It'd be worth giving them a shout. http://www.machine7.co.uk/ :D
  24. If you're going to fit a 2nd hand Mk2 Golf blower make sure you swap over the electrical wiring rheostat type thingy cos they're different as the Golf has 3 speeds and the Corrado has 4. I've done this and it's a piece of cake. 20 minute job. 8)
