Just been back on and added a bit more. This is far too amusing to stop. My sidekick is bringing some pics of his 306 Rallye in tomorrow and we'll have them posted too. Have you ever tried actually going round a corner in a Calibra?

You'd better have a look at this before the saddoes clear it off. http://www.clubcalibra.com/section/inte ... C_ID=10468 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Temperature Gauge is not reading anything
Fine wine, Belgian chocs. replied to Frostee's topic in Engine Bay
Dunno mate but mine does the same so all I can offer is sympathy. Mines a VR6 whats yours? All my temperature senders seem to be together on a hose near the top of the head but I don't know which one goes to the gauge. -
Nice little job for the weekend then. Cheers :D
-
Don't know but mine nearly does the same. When I turn right I get a noise from the offside rear wheel. You've just reminded me to get it looked at . Cheers. :D
-
Nice. If only the second photo was real! Would look nice on 20inch wheels methinks.

I've got a VW Derby. It is exactly the same but with a MASSIVE boot nailed to the back end. GTI Lhasa green, silver GTI twin stripes and some Mk1 10 spoke alloys. Cooler than me VR6? :?

Fine wine, Belgian chocs. replied to stormseeker's topic in General Car Chat
Do I take it that the lurve lifes on the up again then, Rams? Anyway, in my Cd changer at the moment is: The Queen is Dead-The Smiths :( The singles 85 to 95-Depeche Mode :) Cool as-Inspiral Carpets 8) Only Forever-Puressence :? Pure Cult-The Cult  Fireworks-Embrace :D I'm not really an 80s throwback. I only wear my piano tie at the weekend. -
DON'T SELL THE CORRADO! Trust me, you'll miss her. They don't cost that much to run as a second car. I've had a company car for a couple of years now and wouldn't dream of selling me Corrado. It's lovely to have a motor of yer own to drive on sunny days and forget about work. When I'm driving me company car I feel like I'm at work. (In addition to all this if you sell the car and cancel the insurance you'll lose your no claims discount.) :( You know it makes sense!

I absolutely loved my 1.8 16valve. She was a 90G and had done monster mileage before I sold her on and she never really caused me a problem, never used any oil or water, regularly did 35-40mpg and always felt fast enough for me. (Plus they share a lot more parts with a Golf so some bits are cheaper.) When I bought my VR6 I made a point of going to look at the cars that looked expensive for the year. If a car is advertised cheap there is nearly always a reason, hence it's usually a waste of time looking. Just my point of view of course, and definately not the way to bag yerself a bargain! :D

Theres money riding on this.....
Fine wine, Belgian chocs. replied to Blown's topic in General Car Chat
The Alfa Romeo 164 Veloce had an electronic front spoiler although as it's an Alfa they've probably all fallen off by now. I don't know why I know that or if anybody actually gives a monkeys. Eh? Where am I? :? -
Lennys love machine....

Yeah, she is lowered by 30mm on some H&R springs with new Boge shocks all round. The ride quality is firm but useable. I think she gets polished more often than she gets driven. I'm determined she'll stay flash red rather than flash pink! -
Bloomin crikey. I stand corrected (and severely out of pocket!) I suppose I'll know next time because they are bound to cock up again. Cheers :D

Thankfully I run a tyre and exhaust centre and we sell an awful lot of alloys so I got a good deal direct from the importers. Still cost me over 500 quid though (plus tyres!) It was all worthwhile when I saw them on though. Just got to keep them clean now.

Just blow the £200 mate. I've never seen the film looking any good regardless of how much care you take. My mates Golf has been done professionally and looks perfect. :)
-
Believe it or not these are my dream wheels! Yes I know 17s would look better but my 16valvers ride was awful with 17s. The suspension is new Boge gas shocks all round with H&R 30mm drop springs and the ride is now on the firm side of acceptable.
-
Ooooh, she still floats my boat. Extremely chuffed with the new BBS'. All we need now is some more sunny days.

I'm sure the Yokos will make a massive difference. I used to run them on my 16v and they were excellent. I'd check your rear axle mounting bushes aswell though. My VR6 was more than a touch wayward when they were shot. The difference after replacing them was almost worth the 10 hours of blood sweat and swearing.

Have you actually tried to fit any from a Passat? I did and although one of the part numbers on the back matches they work differently with four cables rather than three. The correct part number starts with a '53' so is unique to the Corrado I think you'll find. I'd love to be proved wrong but I think I'm right unfortunately. Arse. :?

...and have you seen the price of the heater control panel from VW dealers? £193.00+vat when I enquired late last year. I don't know how they do it and make a profit. Feck.
