  1. ...and mine... I put 8K miles on mine in a little under 3 months on the road this year! I was racking up over 350 miles a week just going to work and back, and then all over the country going to shows etc... 8) Poo Goats? nah, keep that for yourself capnahab, ;)
  2. if I've got another Corrado by then (or have re-built J-DUB again) I'll be there... 8)
  3. Come on! You've all got some time to catch up to J-DUB's 250K miles while she's resting... 8)
  4. She's not dead... She's just resting... ;) Plans are afoot for a little Frankenstein styleee operation or two over the next couple of months, so you may well see her again at a show near you soon... ;) 8)
  5. yup, have a look HERE There's just about all the info you'll need there, so I'll lock this one up... 8)
  6. aks_uk, synta silver, which is semi synthetic...

    Let's Dance ?

Its a bit of a gay-looking dance to be honest. If the Corrado was a transformer it'd be blowing s*** up and stomping on things :) Either that, or something would break/fall off and need repairing...
  8. I've been through this one with my first Corrado when I wrote that off... The insurance company came to inspect it at my mates garage and declared it a write off (twist mark in the roof showed that the chassis had warped) then a tow truck came and took it away... I phoned the insurance company and told them that I wish to notify them that I was about to report my car stolen as they had taken it without my consent as I had not EVER stated I wished to claim, only that I'd had an accident which I felt would write the car off and wanted to know what they would pay out for it, as it may have been more financially viable for me to scrap it myself rather than take the hit on the insurance no-claims... They bricked it BIG STYLE! It was back in the yard within 2 hours! 8) The upshot is that until you have a cheque in your hand for the money they are paying out to you, it's YOUR car. If someone gets done for speeding in it, you still get the summons etc.... :| Unfortunately I'm going through similar again after my recent (seems like it's gonna go through as a non-fault! :D ) accident which has just written my G60 off... Buying the salvage back depends on the catagory write off which the car has been issued with.... if it's a CAT C, you CAN buy it back, and if the insurance company tells you otherwise, they're talking crap. Oh, and Highway DO do salvage retention, as that's who I used to be insured with until this year, and I always make sure I can retain the salvage just in case! ;) 8) Keep pestering them, and don't let them get away with anything... you've paid your money, it's up to them to earn it now.... ;) At the end of the day, you can always threaten them with the obudsman which normally gets their attention as it causes them a shed load of paperwork! Oh, and ALWAYS refuse their first offer and send 'em a wodge of autotrader and classified adverts for similar cars showing that they're selling for more than the Glasses guide shows 'em for... ;) 8)

it's mental stuff... Go get some! ;) I've seen people repair cylinder heads with it! 8)
  10. nope, I WAS on about the mirror switch... it's got a whole shed load of small contacts inside it, and one lump of crud inside it can cause it to pack in completely... waggling it around loads frees it up and moves the crud out of the way meaning it works once more... 8)
  11. Please turn off your CAPS LOCK... ;) Have a word with gibber_2K, he's got one on his Corrado VR6 S/C and it looks very nice indeed.... 8) Quite a lot of work IIRC though... :|
  12. have a word with John Mitchell (16VG60 on here) I got mine through him and I think he may have some ready done for exchange purposes... 8) I've got one on my G60, it makes the spin up and spin down times for the engine faster, but that can cause it to be a bit jerky if you're not used to it during lazy gear shifts as the engine will drop it's revs faster than normal meaning that as you lazily hit the next gear, the engine has slowed down past the rev speed where your road speed wants it to be due to the gearing... :| Takes a little while to learn how to get around, but that's the only down side (as such) I've come across... 8)
  13. Don't count on that! ;)  It's looking like she's no where near as badly damaged as the insurance arse-essor has made out... Just poking about under her last night has proven that... Oh yes, both will be interesting, to say the least... ;) 8)
  14. just buy a house with a garage! 8) No cold morning starts for me, and it actually LOWERS my insurance quotes... 8)

On my first Corrado I made up some thin aluminium repair plates with the holes in the correct places and then JB Weld'd them onto the case and the broken bit to add in some strength... worked well until my new headlamps arrived anyway... 8) (JB weld is an American 2 part metal glue you can buy from Halfords and is fecking strong stuff!)

    brembo brake kits

's alright, I've now got a contact in Germany who will send stuff over for me... ;) 8) Oh, and they'd be for the NEW project J-DUB... ;) 8)
  19. kevhaywire, guess who I'll be talking to when I get my next insurance renewal... ;) 8)
  20. yup, with Gav here... there's a how to in the how to section (funny place to put it! ;) )

    brembo brake kits

Feck! that's the full kit! *adds to watch list* ;)
  22. ''Ch.50-S-000052' = chassis number 50-s-000052 There will be either a before it to let you know if that part is for the earlier or later than chassis numbers... 8)
  23. 1) Check the fuse, if it's OK and your car is an early one (window switches in the door card, not on the door pocket) waggle the switch around a shed load... they get crudded up inside and stop working 'cos they get used so infrequently! 2) you've probably got a broken switch on the passenger side... I had EXACTLY this problem with my Corrado... The switch (at least the early ones) are about £15 from VAG and will sort the problem in a couple of minutes... 8)
  24. yup, my lovely lady is going to be on my new car's insurance (although she won't know it! ;) ) 'cos she's 6 years older than me and it knocks nearly £200 off my bill!  8) Doesn't work the other way around though... to put me on her Jeep Cherokee adds nearly £300 onto the £400 she's currently paying! :?
  25. To get hold of Wayne Schofield go here: http://www.chipwizards.co.uk He did my G60 chip and it was a real brute! He had the claim to fame that he had more chips running in the Porsche cup than Porsche did a couple of years ago before they clamped down on the rules! 8) Now that's gotta say something! ;)
