  1. yup, I'm up for another Brunters trip... This time I'll try not to let the exhaust come loose and not blow the car up the following day though...  :loll: Great thing about Brunters is there is sooooo much room that if you do stuff it up, you're less likely to meet something solid before you can regain it! 8) (he says having gotten VERY out of shape coming into the main straight...  )
  2. you also need to undo the mounting bolts on the pivot for the P/S pump else it won't move as you adjust the tensioner and you'll end up breaking something... There's a hidden bolt inside the mounting which you get at from the nearside of the mounting... have a GOOD look around under there to try and work out how it all pivots, and you'll see what I mean... 8)
  3. I'm running with custom made hub-centric 11mm spacers to clear my Brembo brakes... 10mm is one hell of a lot to space a wheel out, and as hutchyvw says, I'd be suprised if you need more than 5mm if it's just catching a little... 8)

    Door Handles ?

I've been told there's a guy on the Japaneese ebay who is doing Seat style handles made to fit Corrados... 8) I'm looking into getting some of these after having just sold my Passat ones due to being a little short 'cos of hire car costs... :|
  5. ooh, I thought I'd posted in this thread already... :| Anyway, Congrats mate! It's such a good feeling the first time it fires up and you realise that the car is finally getting close to being a complete car again... 8)

    would this fit?

exhaust manifold/downpipe to us, Supercharged.... ;)

    my '94 VR6

shouldn't that be mostly harmless, Jedi? ;) Welcome to The Forum fernsie, nice looking VR you have there... very straight... 8)
  8. yup, exactly the same on a G60 (that's what I based the instructions on... 8) ) Sump price from Eurocarparts. 8)

    Seatbelts

you need to orientate the mechanism to pretty much exactly how it would be in the car else it'll lock up. Were the seatbelts originally out of a Corrado? if they weren't you may have problems trying to get 'em to fit... :|

    lost my speedo

    8) Cool, just checking to make sure there were no crossed wires... (pun intended! )
  11. yeah, it's a bit of a bugger being 6' and over... I've had problems driving some sports cars (tend to have the top of the windscreen in the way  ) and can't drive older TVRs as I have size 13feet and can't press the brake pedal due to the steering column being too close to the pedal! :| Not a good thing to find out when you're test driving one... :?
  12. Cheers Ant, saved me a job tonight... 8) I looked into putting an uprated oil pump into my engine when I rebuilt it, and just about everyone I spoke to said not to bother as a new VAG G60 pump is bloody good! 8)

    lost my speedo

Just to clear this up, it's not an electrical wire, it's a mechanical cable which rotates inside a sheath to transfer the rotation from the gearbox drive to the speedo... The thing you describe could be the speedo cable, but I have no idea what colour it (or the end connector on it) would be... The end connector should be about 2" long with a large (around 3/4 of an inch diameter) round, hollow end on it and a single, bare metal, square ended wire inside it. The cable itself should be about 1cm in diameter if it's anything like the ones on a Golf... I've not seen one on a Corrado before, so I'm just going on what's on my MKII Golf... :)
  14. huh? :? :?: According to my Chiropractor I'm a smidgen under 6'1", but I do tend to slouch slightly...

    lost my speedo

just had a thought... When you check if your MFA is still reading average speed, check to see if the milage is still going up on the counter too... If they both work, then it's not the cable... ;)

    lost my speedo

right, odds are it's the cable that's snapped then... it'll be a thick cable running from the back of the gearbox up through the bulkhead/firewall and into the back of the instrument cluster... IIRC they're not too bad to change and don't cost huge amounts of money either... 8) This would also explain your spoiler problems too, (noticed you are looking for a spoiler control module) as on the earlier cars the spoiler module gets a signal from the back of the instrument cluster which provides the electronic pulses generated by the rotation of the speedo cable... 8) Check that the cable hasn't come off on the back of the instruments first though, as this can happen occasionally, especially if it's been distrurbed by someone like an alarm fitter in the recent past... ;) The fan switch is on the radiator down by the battery on the inside of the engine bay... it's a BIG brass nut looking thing with a plastic wiring connector on it... 8) Oh, and I've moved the thread to problems for you... :)

    drivers door problem

no idea, sorry... never done much bodywork on a Corrado, only Beetles and MKI golfs... :| On those we used to drill out the old pin and stick in an oversize one... :?
  18. oops, completely failed to get you the part numbers and torques last night and I'm busy tonight, so I'll have to get 'em for you Wednesday night for you... sorry...
  19. oil pressure senders are: 1) on top of the oil filter header 2) on the oil supply line to the supercharger on the right hand side of the head as you look at it from the front of the car. Replace both of these (they're only gonna cost you a few dollars each) and make sure the wires to them are OK too... 8) That should sort it out for you... :) Oh, and as a side note, does the MFA show the oil temp properly? if it doesn't, it could be that the oil temp and oil pressure wires have been swapped over on the 2 sensors on top of the oil filter header!  Seen this one before... ;)
  20. at the end of the day, if a head doesn't need skimming, a good engineering shop will tell you just that and only charge you for the inspection... 8)
  21. Thought I was quick enough to have beaten any replies...
  22. nope, completely clear and the light's invisible to the human eye when switched on... 8) Same idea for the mounting points on the numberplate though... ;)
  23. that, Jedi, is where my idea never got off the ground... :( I did the research into the legal side (and spent a fair amount of cash doing it too :| ) and tested that speed cameras are affected by IR LEDs the same as normal digital/electronic cameras (don't ask how, digital speed cameras are NOT easy to get hold of for testing! ;) ) but then couldn't afford the time or cash to start making up prototypes... I also had an attack of the ethics 'cos I also realised how many other VERY dodgy uses these could be put to and decided that I didn't want any of 'em on my concience... :| The LEDs I was gonna use were the ultra small surface mount jobbies with a 40degree beam angle... they're used in Mobile phones and the like... my initial plan was to have a numberplate mount (about 4mm wide) around the whole plate with a load of 'em along the edges of the plates and then use a couple of larger LEDs in the center of the 2 (or maybe 4 ;) ) bolts which were to secure the plate to the surround... The surround could simply be stuck onto the bumper rather than screwed if you wanted... I've not mapped out exact patterns or anything and I never got around to making a prototype one, although I put the wiring into my car for them when I re-built it!
