  1. not quite... I'm on about 226K and KEVIN JAMES is on 227.5K! (see previous page!) 8) Getting close though...
  2. Very nice... Looks good. I've always been a sucker for a nice early Tornado red Corrado... Probably 'cos that's what my first one was... ;) Yours looks really nice... 8)
  3. TheStig, When you put the key in, will it turn every time? If it turns (and dis-engages the steering lock) then the key part of the barrel is fine, it's the switch that is at fault... If it's physically won't turn, or doesn't disable the steering lock, then, yeah, it's the barrel that's at fault... :? The only time that you'll need to change the barrel is if your key won't turn in the lock or take the steering lock off. Just about all other ignition switch problems are down to the switch itself... 8)
  4. yup... I normally mix 1L of synthetic, and 1L of semi synthetic gear oil and then add about 1.5Lof the mix to the box whenever I change mine... I'm guessing I'll be putting in a full 2 litres on Wednesday when I finally get my box back from Stealth... 8) I'll let you know just to confirm the whole 2 litre thing... ;) 8)

    The MFA

The outside temp sensor is in the lowest grille in the bumper, on the left hand side as you look at the front of the car... It's on a riveted plate set into that grille... 8) Check the wiring to the sensor before replacing it, as I've seen a few that have had the wires damaged as they sit so low to the ground and can get snagged on stuff you run over while driving... (branches, rocks, badgers etc... ;) )
  6. Report this back to the garage that did the work initially (ET Motors) and see what their reaction is... If they just tell you to sod off, report them to trading standards... getting brakes wrong on a customers car is neglect and if you had have had an accident (God forbid!) then they would have been liable for it.... :| If you don't report it to them or trading standards, then they'll just keep on doing the dodgy work and could end up killing someone... :?
  7. Sheesh... I never knew that one dubster... I knew that TVRs had them (all be it with a button to open the doors added) but I'd never have thougth that the Maclaren F1 had them too... 8) Where did you find that little gem out? 8)
  8. I'm not well... leave me alone...
  9. IIRC Stealth do the Cam mod... the K-star KS301 is a bolt on addition to the KE-Jetronic system that effectively adds an ecu and a couple of extra sensors to the engine to allow you to "chip" the K-Jetronic system... It's made by Milford Microsystems Have a look at what Stealth say about it HERE 8)

    what is it??

that large round bush is the counter weight... I have no idea what the box is, but I'll have a look at mine in the morning 'cos it's nice and accesible with no engine or front end around it! ;) 8)
  11. Nuts, that was a typo...  They were 6.5 wide... Sorry... I've edited my post to correct it... ;)
  12. Having been taken out for a spin in this car when I collected my block from John, I can vouch for the fact that it's VERY quick! John had to keep it calm as the day was wet, cold and a bit nasty, but when he did press the loud peddle, you knew about it! ;) It's a lovely piece of kit... 8)
  13. Very nice looking Corrado that... 8) Welcome to the forum! :D
  14. Yup... welcome to the 1000+ post club... 8)
  15. It should have had 6.5x15 all around with 195 50 15 tyres all around on it... 8) Probably would have been Siebring wheels too... 8)
  16. Yup, if you've got the tools to undo it and then tighten the new one up properly afterwards... Don't forget to put a little studlock onto the thread of the new bolt to make sure it never comes loose...
  17. yeah, I'd agree with Dazzy here... Sounds like the cam's a tooth out, possibly on the cam chain between the 2 cams... :?
  18. Yeah, probably from me or Bananaman...
  19. Don't mess with the 12 sided bolt! It's a stretch bolt and you really don't want to do anything to it! To get the pulleys off the crank, you just need to undo the 4 hex head bolts exactly the same as on a conventional 8v engine... 8)
  20. holy $#!t.... That guy either left his brain at home or has nads the size of melons!  Utterly mad... (where can I get one?!?)
  21. I have no idea about the 2.0 9A as it's not K-jet and I've never played with one... The pipework that goes onto the throttle body is flexible enough to fit onto the Weber on KR engined cars, but again, I don't know about the 2.0 16Vs... On a KR it's a tight fit to get it on the first couple of times, and you need to make sure the jubilee clip is a good one and nice and tight once you've fitted the pipe... 8) Be VERY careful the first time you take it out for a drive if you do this mod... The change in how the throttle responds may catch you out as it is such a change.... ;) 8)
  22. C&R = http://www.candrenterprises.co.uk/ they're very good... I've used them a lot in the past... 8)
  23. Only if the indicators don't light up amber, or they are deemed to be not bright enough... 8) indicators must, by law, be amber and a certain brightness (21W springs to mind, but I have been to the pub tonight so I could be wrong! ;) )
