And don't forget the sound of that V8... burble burble... 8) Lovely... I'd have one (if they handled and stopped!) 8)

I've currently got an Alpine (fitted to a friends car on loan at the moment), A Clarion TV system in my 'rado and a Panasonic CDC system in my Golf... I really am impressed with the sound quality of both the Alpine and the Clarion systems over the Panasonic, which I'd always rated highly before I tried these other 2 stereos... 8)

I'm well happy that my car's already got J***DUB on it... 8) At least that's £375 I won't have to spend... ;) The only name one I wanted was H3NNY... it's on a multi-coloured Porsche at the moment according to that RAC tool... ;)
-
Yup... still kicks the hell outta £1000 number plate prices though... ;) 8)
-
Yeah, I think the driver is about to go whether I want it to or not! ;) when the clutch's biting point is less than 5 mm from the top of the travel, you know that there's not a lot of life left in it! ;) It's actually been a superb little car, much better than my Astra ever was... 8) Can't wait for J-DUB to be back though... 8)

Ok, back on topic... when I first got my G60, I took it over to get the charger rebuilt and decided that since it was a nice day, and very early in the morning, I'd open her up and see what she'd do... I chickened out at an indicated 145 'cos there was some traffic coming up somewhat quickly and I like my licence in it's clean state... 8) She was still pulling, but was definately getting close to having no more go left... I have no idea how far out my speedo is though... :? My old 1.8 16V used to run out of go at around 130 on the speedo which I did a couple of times...

From the name of the pic, I'd guess it's Majik's... ;) Looking good, Bally... 8)

Have a look at the Clarion range... Very understated and superb sound quality... 8)

Hello! 1) Sounds like it needs a new Ignition switch... Very common on ALL VWs, and the part only costs £20 from a dealer... There's a good guide to changing one HERE ;) 8) 2) There's several heat sheilds over the exhaust system on a Corrado which are held in place with mild steel clips. These clips rot with age and fall off allowing the heat shield to rest on the exhaust and rattle... Dead cheap and easy to fix (about 20P per clip IIRC!) If it's not that, then it could be the heat shield on the downpipe which will need a large jubilee clip putting over it to hold it tight and stop it rattling... Both very common and simple and cheap to sort out... 8) *Edit* just re-read your fault number 2... the rattle was ABOVE the driver's seat?!? Very odd... Probably a loose bolt on the sunroof mechanism in that case.... :?
-
Thank God for that... I thought I was the only one suffering from that!  8)
-
..and people wonder how you manage to get such a mega-high post count Kev... :-P I think that the shrink will just tell you that you're past help... but then you already know that 'cos you've got a 'Rado! ;)
-
I'm pretty sure ALL Corrados had ABS as an option... It was an expensive one though, so you don't see many early ones with it... :? If it's a genuine UK 89/90 it should only be a 1.8 16V, anything else, and it's been "played with"
-
There should be a rubber gasket/O-ring on one face of the plate, and then the oil filter has the other seal built into it... 8) (the O-ring side of the plate goes up onto the filter head! ;) )
-
Yup, that's the set up which worked on my car... one of each arm just wouldn't allow the passenger arm to be lifted without fouling on the bonnet, and I don't want some numpty to lift the arm to stick spam under it at a show and end up damaging my paint! 1x drivers arm and blade on the drivers side, and 1x drivers arm and passenger blade on the passenger side works beautifully, and also allows you a spare arm and blade to modify to fit to the rear too! ;) 8)
-
That looks sweet... 8)
-
Gav? You sold her? :| What you gonna buy now then?!? Also, are you gonna change your user name now, or are you keeping the plate?
-
That's only for a looksee though... so no major cost implications at that point... It ain't difficult to get the charger off, and Daz's pretty quick with his turn around time, so you shouldl be without you car for less than a week all in... 8) At the end of the day, what's 1 week in 30,000 miles! I'm throwing 22K a year at my car, so once evey 18 months, I'll send it off to get it checked out... 8)
-
Nope. There's no boost bleed off valve on the Weber body which you need with the G60 engine... :?
-
you can also get a little bit of Castor adjustment by altering the king-pin inclination by moving the top mount about a little bit... but again, you ain't gonna get a lot of adjustment there unless you buy special top mounts... :?

Mmmm,308 GTB (or GTS) lovely motor.... they drive nicely too... ;) 8) -
That's where I got my Brembo Brake conversion from... Bill's really good to talk with and rather helpful too... 8)
-
Castor isn't adjustable on it's own on a Corrado... It may vary slightly as the rest of the suspension adjustments are made, but there's no specific adjustment for just the camber... :? If you've got a difference with everything else lined up properly, then the odds are you've got a very slightly bent bit of suspension somewhere, or a dead/naff top mount or bush as these are the only things that can affect the castor on a Corrado... :? I'm not sure how much that will affect the handling, but the main two are your Amber and Toe which WILL make a major difference to your handling now they're set properly... 8) Bet you are loving the difference now... ;) :D

That's gonna hurt the owner's bank balance! And we moan about VWs part prices... ;) -
Oh no they don't. It is only an invitation to treat and therefore, it does not form a binding contract until they accept your offer of zero pence. Hey, where did my post go that said that?!? :? I wrote a nice reply to this on Monday night that said basically the same as that VR6... you're spot on there... The other one to watch out for is that it has to be a sensible/believable price if it's a pricing error... Ie. if you're offering a brand new car for £300 instead of £30,000 then it's obvious that it's a pricing error and so the company are not obliged to sell it to you at that price... However, if they had one for sale for £25,000, then you may be able to argue your case, as this is a plausible discount... 8)
