  1. It's pretty easy to replace... although it's probably not the resistor that's broken... If your fans only work on the 4th speed, then it's the thermal resistor that's gone. If you do a search for "thermal AND resistor" you'll find a thread about it with full details on how to fix it... 8)
  2. I also said this in the other thread about these, but, have a word with Bill over at Badger5... That's who I got my kit off, and I'd bet he'd know what'll fit the VR... 8)
  3. I know that feeling well...   Hope all goes to plan with it... 8) Good luck... :D
  4. My garage looks very similar too... At the moment I've got my new intercooler sat in my living room, my rebuilt 'charger in the dining room (along with most of the dashboard again!) and most of the brackets and engine mounting parts off getting powdercoated... I'm wondering if I'll ever remember how to put the thing back together again! Hope you get yours sorted soon... 8) Wotcha planning on doing to it?

...Or a Chrysler PT Cruiser... Talk about zero rear visibility! :? We've got 10 branded ones at work and someone decided that the branding was more important than the rear side windows, so they got covered with the branding...

    Steering

Yup, the power steering belt either needs replacing or just tightening... It's fairly common (my MKII golf does it 'cos I can't be bothered to sort it) but it does need to be done, and shouldn't cost much to do either... 8)

    Twin inlets

     :-P
  9. I'm pretty certain that you use the Ibiza set up, but just get some 305mm diameter disks off a Leon... It's either that, or the Leon and the Ibiza both use the same caliper and size disk, which is how I read that thread... Have a word with Bill over at Badger5, that's where I got my kit from... Slightly cheaper than dealer prices, and you get the braided front flexy hoses in with the kit.... 8)
  10. yeah, SOME 16" wheels will clear, but the design of the wheel is the critical part... If the spokes curve in from the center then the odds are that no wheel of that design will clear the caliper... I know that Borbet C 7.5J 16" will clear with the use of an 8mm spacer as that's what I'll be running my car on and I tested it before I bought the brakes! 8)

    Twin inlets

The G60 supercharger has 2 sides to the inlet on it. One is attached to the airbox, the other is linked to a boost return pipe from the factory so that you don't get the dump valve noise all the time unless you're on full throttle. A twin inlet is where you remove the boost return pipe, and attach on another air intake and filter to it instead. 8)
  12. Just wire a large resistor in parallel with the LED clusters... It won't affect the LED brighness, but will make the normal relay work... That's how the clusters that you can buy in the Laxpower style shops work... 8)

    eyebrows?

Erm, the first post in this thread says: Just knock off the end bits and you get http://www.hostdub.com  It's had a BIG overhaul since I last looked at it, but it used to show that it was canadian... 8)
  14. you don't need to drill 'em for 5 stud fitment, just buy the Leon disks instead as they are the same 5 stud pattern (5x100) as the VR6... The part numbers for both 4 and 5 stud versions are in the BIG thread about the conversion... 8) *Edit* Woah, great minds and all that!  8)

    Twin inlets

Yup, you did... HERE 8) Just so you don't think that you're going any more insane than you already may be!
  16. That's gotta be 10 now hasn't it?!? :? I want new lights! :)

Fit a rear camera and TV system.... makes life lots easier + you don't even have to turn around!
  18. Nah, I don't like the idea of hot hydrocarbons being sprayed onto one of my back tyres... Doesn't help grip any...
  19. Mine doesn't creak no matter what I do to it... Although I don't drive up and down curbs 'cos I'm scared of them after writing my last C off going up a curb sideways :? (and backwards at the time!) If yours creaks with the extra strength from the windows, imagine what it'd be like without 'em!
  20. I did once (for the MK2 again) and it was some ridiculous 3 figure some, £250 rings a bell? Oh and 1 x G60 BBS rim for the Golf Turbo = £300! Ask for a corrado one... I did just out of interest and it took me a while to stop laughing! it's close to a grand!

    eyebrows?

The car is actually Canadian... (it says so on the site! )
  22. *cough* 7 spoke *cough* 5 stud *cough* I agree that they're nice wheels... They'd clear the Brembo brake conversion as well!
  23. Never, ever ask a dealer how much a parcel shelf is unless you're either high, or just after a laugh...
  24. Yeah, that gives the same symptoms as the crank bolt shearing off, but without the pulley being at a silly angle... Guess how I know?!?
  25. betcha it'll suffer from car park injuries more than a C as well... Nice flowing curve of the door... With a great big dink in the middle...
