  1. Here you go then...  AFAIK corrados aren't fitted with the wiring for these as standard. The wiring is dead simple though... you'll need an ignition live (so that they only work when the engine's on! ), an earth (duh! ), and then you'll need to run 2 wires into the engine bay, one to each sender. You don't need to use very heavy gauge wire (5A will be more than fine 8) ) as there's practically no current on the wires, they just need to be a reasonable quality wire as the senders work by varying the resistance to earth, so rubbish wire will mess up your readings!  You'll actually need 2 T pieces to make this work, as for best results you should put your new senders in the same place as the factory senders and to do this you'll need a T piece for Temp and one for Pressure so that you can use both the original and the new senders at the same time... 8)
  2. Which C have you got? There's a late G60 fusebox on ebay at the moment... 8) Replacement isn't that difficult... It's a case of unplugging the old one and plugging the cables into the correct places on the new box then transferring the relays over too... Not rocket science, but sometimes tricky due to wire lengths (or rather, lack of!) Good luck!
  3. There's also Gavin (H100VW) and Matt, (Dubwhizz) who are on here with G60 Golfs... I've only seen Gavin's at night, so I have no idea what colour it is, but by all accounts it's very nice 8) , and Matt's is a Nile Green Ottenger tuned one that's REALLY low and rather nice... It goes alright too!  EDIT - Speak of the devil, there's Gavin now! ^  :salute: :thumbleft: Edit edit - I forgot my manners! Nice car by the way, and welcome to the forum! 8)

    Electric Windows

It's either a jammed mechanism, dodgy wiring (or connector) or a dead motor... Take the door card off and have a look to make sure the multi wire connector is still attached and check it for voltage when you're trying to open or close the window. Then try and open the window while pushing lightly on the top of the glass... If it moves, try to raise the window again... This may clear anything jamming the mechanism... If neither of these work, then you're into the bigger job of checking out the motor and mechanism, which normally involves removing the glass and mechanism from the door :? Good luck!

    Hi to all

That'd be Gavin, "H100VW" then...  He is, indeed the man to see about lighting looms... lovely job, good price and knows what he's doing! 8)

    My 16v

I've had a PM from James_M and have explained all of this in the reply... We'll await pictures with interest... :? 8)
  7. Cool, Glad I could help... I'll lock this thread up seening as it's dead... 8)
  8. What exactly are you trying to do? Replace the original sunroof with the Passat moonroof, or repair a moonroof that's already been fitted? If it's just repairing one that's already been fitted, then it shouldn't take much longer than fitting the roof in the first place (and that's worst case!) a lot of the problems can be fixed without removing it from the car, so it's a lot quicker... Fitting a moon roof in place of the sunroof isn't tricky, but is work intensive... :? I did mine in about 3.5 hours having never done it before and before I found the forum... 10 hours is definately taking the £$%@, especially 'cos I did it all on my own! :?
  9. That'll be a long wait then!

    My 16v

yup, no sign of any pictures at all... :? Not even if I edit the post... Think you messed it up james_m! PM me if you're stuck on how to add in piccys... 8)
  11. HERETIC!!! Burn him!!! :onfire: There are no "other" forums!
  12. Gavin's his name... H100VW is his forum name... 8) Send him a PM and he'll get back to you next time he logs in... I'll lock this thread up now... 8)
  13. Sounds to me like a buckled wheel... Go to a good local tyre place and get them to balance all 4 wheels... tell them you suspect you may have a buckled rim and ask them too look out for it while they're balancing them... One of my Borbets was buckled when I bought the car and it made the whole car horrible to drive... vibration, nasty feeling in the steering, the works... Put a new wheel on and - Voila! - cured! 8) Good luck!

    everything f*&

Mine doesn't  And that's why mine doesn't!!!   When I bought the car, I stripped out the interior (except for the dash!)to fit my ICE, and as I put it all back I treated the bits that were looking like they could rub in this way... The parcel shelf rattles are usually due to the 2 foam rubber bits falling off the boot lid. They are there to push the shelf against it's supports while the boot is shut and stop it moving... The stickey comes off after a while and they fall off, leaving the shelf to rattle... Go around the car with a screwdriver and tighten ALL of the panel screws around the car and treat the bits that look to be rubbing as Kev suggests, and you'll have a nice, rattle free, quiet interior! Well worth the time... 8)
  15. What colour are the wires to the sensor?
  16. It's dead easy... The needle is a piece of clear plastic with a red light filter stuck on top... The center has a black disk on top of it which ALMOST touches the dial's face, and the dial has a section under the cap which allows light up into the black section of the needle. This allows the light to use the needle as a light guide and illuminates the whole needle... It's exactly what I was on about 5 posts up! 8) The advantage is that you can choose the colour it lights up by changing the filter colour on the needle, and if you're really clever, you can have a white needle which lights up a different colour in the dark! 8) The guy is getting back to me soon about making these, but it may be after Xmas when I find out for definate... 8)
  17. There's a couple of threads here about them, also a group buy HERE... The wiring's dead easy, you just remove the bulbs and connect the wiring onto the power rails for them instead... 8) I'll lock this one up then... 8)
  18. The Supersport coilovers from Venom get a big thumbs up from me... 8) about £400 IIRC, they're not stiffness adjustable though, only height...
  19. I got 'em from Bill at Badger5 just for the ease of it... Think it was about £465 inc VAT and postage... You just need to make sure that your wheels will fit over 'em first as they are huge! My 16" 7.5J Borbet Cs only just clear! we're talking a couple of mm's clearance! Any wheels with an inwards dish to the spokes almost certainly won't clear the calipers... :?
  20. Probably sell 'em on... Or I may fit them to my MKI 16v... depends if they'll fit behind the rims I've got on it... :? Watch out in the For Sale section when I get 'em off, probably start of January time... 8)
  21. hummm, something weird going on with my posts...
  22. Yay! More new toys!
  23. Hummm, where do I start?!? In the last month I've spent over £3K on my G60, and she's not turned a wheel... mind you, that's a new bottom end for the engine, gas flowing everything that has air flowing through it, new down pipe, bits for the interior, Brembo brake conversion and other such niceties, but it's all due to a breakage at the end of the day... (and that's the effect of breaking a 70P bolt! ) I think that in the last 15 months that I've owned the car I've spent about £10K on her, not including buying her in the first place... so that works out at about £666 per month that I've owned her...  Oh, plus petrol and insurance! :?  And the really sad thing? I'd do it all again 'cos of the shear pleasure I've had out of doing the work and the pleasure I got while she was on the road and will have again in January when she's back on the road again... 8) :D Reading that lot back, I think I may need to go and get my head checked out...
