yesterday: tried to fit the new fuel pump I got from VW... Today: went to shout at the VW parts person who supplied me with the wrong fuel pump/ didn't supply me with the updated level sender even though I'd asked if I needed it as well... Later: will refit new pump with new senders and wiring and hopefully get her running properly again... 8)

Ask Darren from G-Werks... he sells these as an upgrade kit... ;)

7.5 x16 ET 30 -> 35 will fit straight on with no problems.. 8x16 ET 25-> 30 should fit with no problems, but I'd advise checking first as yours will be an early body car with the narrower wings, so you may find that the arches will need mild pulling... 9x16 you WILL need to be careful with your offsets but you can fit 'em (ask Jim what his Borbet Ts were as they were 9" all around IIRC, but his IS a later body so has an extra 10mm width on the arches)

 it'd need to be one weird arsed microwave to set off an alarm Grim... Let's put it this way, it wouldn't cook anything.... ;)

AVOID halfords ones.... I've been using these for a while to try and rule out a slight problem I had, and they've caused more problems then they've helped rule out...  You can beat Beru Sam, Genuine rule every time on plug leads of you can stomach the price... :|

stick in a BRIGHT green bulb and it'll overcome the orange reflector inside the units... Either that, or open 'em up and pull out anything orange...

I've had JBLs and MB quarts in my Corrados and have been very happy with both... Never rated sony speakers TBH... ;)

yup, deffo worth it... 8)

it doesn't... the fan run on is on the low speed of the fan... by bridging the 2 speeds at the switch, you've set up a path for the fan run-on to feed the HI speed input to the motor... It's not going through the rad switch, it's just using your bodge link to make the fan work... ;) Proof positive that it's a dodgy fan motor then... 8)

how much is the garage owed? May be worth striking a deal and buying this car CHEAP...

 Parts for the original minis are DIRT cheap and readily available, as are hot-up parts for both engine and suspension... Think you may be a little suprised by how much these are selling for at the moment... they're somewhat sought after and as a result, are pulling good money when they go for sale... :|

OK, thought I'd check that one... In that case, pull the switch out and disconnect it from the multiplug... see if there's voltage there then... could be a crappy switch...

was8v, not always... and it depends on how fast you want the cash to get there... ;)

or: 1. finger hooked around the back of the 'W' 2. sharp pull followed by horrible cracking plastic noise and suden release of large chunk of grill AND badge 3. sulk...

is the supersprint one specifically for a G60? I've seen some that end in a 2" outlet which is far too small... (2.5" is standard IIRC)

that sounds exactly like a dodgy vacuum hose to the ECU mate... You sure it's on the correct nipple?
-
it comes from the spoiler control unit IIRC...

are your indicators switched on? ;)

high performance clutch needed... which one to get?
Henny replied to potatonet's topic in Drivetrain
I'm running over 250 at the crank and the VR6 clutch in mine has held up well for the last 30K miles of abuse... 8) -
Yup, they replace the ultrasonics and are miles better... means you can have the windows open without it setting the alarm off until someone sticks something inside the car... Cuts down on false alarms LOADS too... ;)

Quickest car you've been in, owned and most interesting....
Henny replied to NickVR6's topic in General Car Chat
 cheers Yan! Fastest car I've owned? tricky question... My MKI 16V was faster than my Corrado 0-100, (0-60 was down around 5.5 seconds!) but it ran out of gearbox at around 120mph... However, my Corrado's getting close to that accelleration now (around 6.1 to 60 achieved so far according to my GPS tracker) and I've had the engine upto 139.8mph (GPS verified) at Brunters when it was in J-DUB, so she should be good for a couple more MPH now it's more powerful and in a lighter shell... Fastest car I've driven? hmmm... probably a Nissan skyline a mate imported which was over 800bhp! It had so much electronic trickery that it was almost boring to drive, but it was bloody quick (think we topped it out at around 180mph without really trying! ) -
Can you guess what it is yet? or "learn about VW histor
Henny replied to vwdeviant's topic in General Car Chat
DaveVR6, yup, basically it is... (although Hitler never actually drove anything, he had a driver! ;) ) vwdeviant, I started off with air-cooled... had an L plate type 2 van with a 2.1 porsche engine in it and a 1200 gearbox... pulled wheelies 'cos it was sooooo low to the ground and had such silly gearing... ended up scrapping it due to chassis damage... :( Also had an M plate beetle which I never finished restoring due to ending up at University and sold onto a mate who used it for parts... :( Then I got hooked on MKI Gtis and it all got a bit faster, wetter (!) and sillier from there on in... ;) -
open it up to 3.5mm and re-thread it... ;)

all smoked... no bling on 'em and nice and dark to match the dark paintwork... 8)
