Hi there Whats involved with making heated leather seats, electrically adjustable. Really want to do the mod. Any comments welcolme, Rams
-
I might just have to do that. I was concerned that if the chip fell or something, I could be driving along and the car would turn off? Cheers Rams
-
Hi, I tried the chip in different positions, the car would only stay running when the chip was just stuck to the outside case near the key, but then wouldnt work when it was on the blade itself or in the casing. As soon as I put it back in the original key where it has its own slot, it was fine. Rams

Hi all I have purchased 2 flip keys, had the key cut and it starts the engine, then dies. I know its the factory fit immobiliser not picking up even though I have put my trasponder chip in the new flipkey fob. I only managed to start the car with it stuck to the outside in a certain position once. Even with it stuck on the blade it didnt work. So far ive spend £30 on 2 new keys and £6 for 2 new AH keys for the flip fob. I' ve searched the forum and still at logger heads as to what to do. I have a Cobra CAT 1 alarm and immobiliser, and then factory fit vw immobiliser. I see there are people that have done the mod and can open/lock with the vw flipkey buttons but buying a kit from Right Click? Or at best, can you just get the car to lock and unlock, boot release but not activate or deactivate the alarm? Im guessing if you armed/locked the car with the alarm remote and then unlocked the car with the new flip key, open the door, the alarm should sound? Or does this kit do it all for you? Any help is really appreciated, Ive been reading and calling people trying to solve it and cant qite make out a definitve, this is what you need to do mod if you have an remote alarm system.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help,

Hi, I have now received my new badge from Awesome GTI, I know its fitted below the corrado badge and before the vr6, but just wanted the exact measurement or location. Or if someone has a picture they would kindly post it would help me out. Cheers

You said you bought the car recently, perhaps the previous owner knew there was oil leaking and maybe the reason why he / she over filled the oil for your journey home?? Just a thought....
-
cheers James Thats useful, especially as you have to open a front window to easy the air pressure inside the car so lots of wind noise when you just want the sun to come in.

Corrado update and sunroof 011.jpg[/attachment:37bfqoul]
-
Hey, its never had one..... I always drive with the sunroof open too, its my first corrado out of 4 that actually works. I installed a parrot handsfree kit and the mic is just by the elec sunroof switch and though, how come theres no wind deflector as it would reduce the noise whilst on the phone and generally in the car. Can I fit one from another corrado or passat? Couldn't see any fixing points for it. Do you have a photo of your and how the spring / part locates to the sunroof?
-
My car doesnt have a sunroof wind deflector. Its probably been removed so its one less thing to go wrong, but wanted to double check what was the norm. It usually goes up and down with the motion of the sunroof opening and closing. Think it looks neater having one and hopefully I can fit one. Do you know which part I mean?

Replaced the fuel filter today and the fuel coming out of the old one was black! God knows when that was last replaced. Replaced the plastic roller bushes on the driver side window, VW told me I had the last pair left in the UK. I believe some dealers may have stock and want spares for the passenger side. Window still loose, side movement and makes a clunk when closing, so need to see why that is. New collant G12 and flush next weekend and will fit the newer expansion bottle. For some reason, my power steering fluid bottle is on the piss, the bracket looks after market but is not straight, tucked in neatly to the washer bottle and therefore, the battery terminal is difficult to get to. Ive started getting quotes for all the body work so far and really looking forward to seeing a nice clean paint job. Thats the one big thing that lets my car down, but when its done, my storm will be looking ace and running like a dream. I have noticed that my sunroof is missing the air flap at the top, I assume it was removed to avoid urther issues with the sunroof. Thats it for now folks.....

Very good..... When I saw that someone had replied, I thought,'' cool, I see where they've put them'' Made me smile at least

Hi, my new Parrot ck3100 arrives in the next few days, just under 90 pounds delivered from ebay..... has anyone got pictures where they think its best mounted?
-
They feel better, the old ones were just an advisory on link arm and ball joint, so replaced both sides and arb with new bushes, now with the new top mounts and bearings it just feels more secure and the steering feels much smoother and solid over bumps. Hows ur car coming along?
-
The car had the healight wiring upgrade and running some phillips ultra bright bulbs I think. They are good. Think Halfords sell them for around 20 quid each or something?
-
Just some pics of work and the old ARB / link arms being cut out. Everything was solid under there and now going through the process of updating everything and re greasing / cleaning. The mechanic always cleans and copper greases things etc. He knows im a fussy buggar but did them all without having to be asked. Great chap, very reasonable and its either being fixed at the weekends on his work ramp, its just 2 younger guys and they love cars and bikes and they all take an interest. They are gear box and cluth specialists and said they would happily to mine when its needs sorting. Had a hole days work for £40, yes, £40! He did the oil filter change, cleaned everything, plugged the car in, checked the car over for a good couple of hours and said, £10! I had to give him more. His family have a breakers for vw and audi in Hungary and has been working on these cars since a young lad and his experience shows.

Hi, I have the same issue, probably starts and dies once in 30 starts or so. What I do, which could be just luck, is I blimp my cobra alarm inside the car so it locks, then unlock and she starts straight away. I had my car plugged into a snap on fault reader and the code 17978 '' engine start blocked by immobilizer.Ive also had 01176 Key signal too low and 00546 Dara wiring faulty not a plausible signal. Will try the above suggestion to clean earthing contacts and take it from their. Have you changed your coil reader to see if that sorted it?
-
Cheers What a difference felt by new top mounts and bearings, really happy. Changed V belt and cleaned pully from rust debris. Changed the oil cooler rubber rings/seals front and back..... Hopefully this will stop the oil leak? Occasionally, the car cuts out on start up, once in every 30 starts or so. Pluged the car in and its saying its a fault with the immobiliser, cleared the codes and will see what happens. Maybe the factory fitted immobiliser Or cobra immobiliser is playing up and may need sorted. Will the ecu need to be re codded/mapped? Next week, window bushes, new steering rack bearing for the hell of it, plus having steering wheel rake tightened up and new fuel filter and a 4 wheel track and camber check. Fitted newly powder coated BBS solitude wheels and had re balanced, look clean and tidy now. New BBS badges fitted, painted calipers black till I upgrade the brakes. Thinking Brembo's, 4 pots. They stopped me in my last car, EVO 6.

Hi Ive ordered a few new bits for her, Roller bushes for both windows Top mounts and bearingsstromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfUpdate car works 009.jpg[/attachment:1m49emmd] Steering rack bearings Rubber ring for air box to chassis rail New C car mats All VAG parts Replaced the tie rods and ball joints last week, new arb and bushes, wheels powder coated, they're much better but not perfect especially the sides and spot areas where the wheels was so corroded. Polished and fitted manifold and new gasket, copper greased nuts and bolts where necessary, spray painted sump which was rusty, tightened oil exchanger nut but still weaping. Maybe needs a new rubber or something? So Replaced oil cooler seals front and back and its stopped the leak!! Ordered a new handsfree car kit from ebay, Parrot ck3100. Its coming together now, running well and happy to be fixing these usual suspects. Like everyone else on here really, want to get this car in great condition.... Getting the quotes for re spraying atm, the body work is probably one of the worst Ive seen on a corrado. Next couple of months me and a body specialist guy will start rubbing down and welding the new rear arch, rolling the arches with a proper snap on machine after. Then removing glass and rubbers, lights etc for a quality respray. Still deciding on look, smooth or standard.......???? More fleck in the paint or something?? Thats my update so far, RamsCorrado92.pdfUpdate car works 017.jpg[/attachment:1m49emmd]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfUpdate car works 005.jpg[/attachment:1m49emmd]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfUpdate car works 018.jpg[/attachment:1m49emmd]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfUpdate car works 004.jpg[/attachment:1m49emmd]

ok, I called VW with tie rod part number and they have supplied the wrong ones. They have agred that I can keep them and try and sell them on ebay or something. So, I have a new set of complete tie rod ends which have been on the car for an evening. They are original VW parts and once they are off, they will be for sale. Part number 191 422 804 A The only difference with these and the correct ones are the length.
-
Hi, Ive just had a new anti roll bar, bushes, track road end and drop link arms replaced.... The new tie road came with the ball joint, ordered from TPS, VW main dealer parts supplier. It was slightly shorter in length but the adjustment has been done and tracked up with about 3 /4 turns left if that makes sense. Could my tie rod be the wrong ones or can 3 or 4 turns of thread be safe and ok? Its all done and drove straight and felt good, no clunking, but its just for piece of mind. The mechanics said it should be fine but wanted the wealth of corrado forum members advise. Cheers Rams

Has anyone fitted a washer bottle bag into the wing or elsewhere? I've been thinking of ideas of relocating the windscreen washer bottle. Ive seen this mod done to a MK2 Golf along time ago. Any ideas would be great

It sure has..... i wondered if you were still about, will have to catch up with you soon. Got to be at least 8 plus years ago now>
