Scott, I think someone has offered to buy them.I am bringing them up with me to the CCGB day and if this chap doesnt turn up or something then call me or find me as they will be in my boot.
-
dazzyvr6, Seriously mate, I would go with the Avo's, they are only 20 quid to get them reconditioned which is nothing for coiovers. They turn them round in a week and can more or less make your shock new again. New struts, seals the lot
-
Scott, Well you will feel sick when you go to the CCGB day!! LOL. You will be surrounded by C's
-
Crazyman, probably Bournemouth James - still need to sort out, I was e mailed by a couple of guys near the area that have seen me so just nbeed to find out if they are going, im sure they are, my Mate thats not on the forum but has a yellow fast G60. So you ill see us coming. I know the place we are going to is near to milton Kynes and the best way to get there is fly down the long flat roads through the a34. Its a nice bit of long road which Im sure there will be plenty of races!!
-
Mate, I work in Ringwood but live in Bournemouth. There are a few of us coming from Bournemouth, maybe 4 or 5 so far. Dont you turn off before fleet and take the Oxford bypass A34?

G60Jet, Your C must get covered in salt???

Could it be possible that your top mounts currently are a bit worn, when I replaced these on my car they made the ride feel that bit more comfier. The bushes, - Anti Roll bar, ball joints etc, if these are worn they will amek you feel the road so much more. It was just an idea as I use the Standard Shocks with Eibachs and the ride is good, yeat, pot holes are always going to be tricky for a coilover kit also. This is what you have to live with, if the road is smooth I bet your C drives just how you want it. I have Avo Coilovers going on next week, I know that the ride will be very firm but th elower you go the harder you sometimes need to set the suspension to avoid rubbing tyres, arches. Obviously if you go low and its still a clear distance within the arch gab and wont rub then set them a bit softer. We pay car tax for terrible roads. Take a trip to germany for a couple of days and fly down every road without feeling a thing! The germans know how to do things!

Bluxie, I cant take the insides out on my handle as the alloy brittle part has broken off. Thats why IO ordered Passat handles and to make them de locked.
-
It would be better changing it than never changing it. Fresh water, fresh coolant, especiall as there is G12 now from the g11 coolant that was used.
-
biggrim, I can tell from your pic that it does look smart. Your C looks lush.
-
16valver, It would look better but I always have like having the rear wiper there. It helps when needing to see if its a police car or a taxi when gunning it. It may have to come off if it looks out of place. I like the Evo and scobbie idea for their rear wiper, its attached to the windscreen and quite dinky! I doubt that I could mod that to work? Red calipers can look good if they are a nice silky deep red like the Porsches etc. The brembo calipers are red and they look sweet but they have to be cleanined all the time.

G60, Sounds nice! Project C! Just dont get board of it and half finish it. Go right to the end other wise the guy you sell it too will be crusing one nice smoooooth C!
-
Instead of polishing it up, take it to a body shop and get them to G3 it and mop polish. I saw red Alfa get done whislt my C was at the body shop and it looked like new. If you think how much paint is applied, your simply taking down a coat to bring it back to life. It will probably cost you £50 to get it done properly. Then keep it protected by regular cleaning and polised every few months as its not good to over polish cars!

The Golf is easier to drive I would say as an every day car. The C is much lower and getting in and out all the time is a pain. My friend sold his VR6 and went to a golf Highline. Aparantly there are 2 types of highline engines, OK, maybe not the engine but there is definitely 2 different sorts of power out puts on them. There are nice but I prefer the C look, the Golf just looks like another Golf but he sold his C as he couldnt do as many mods to his C than the gold he said. Or it had something to do with the Golf looking like a better base to start modding. He knows what hes on about, he had 2 featured golfs in PWV, Redline and Max Power. He works for sunseeker and all of his cars were mint!

biggrim, One night a came out of a pub at around 1 pm and saw a guy sat on my rear spoiler!! I had 3 chinese marshal arts experts with me and boy he made a big mistake. I asked him in a nice sort of blunt way to get the Fu** away from my car or the only way he could drink again would be through a drip. He said piss off and threw his kebab all over my polished and cleaned C as I knew I was going to be parking it in town, the chilli sauce and lettice and everything was all over the side of the car! I went nuts and punched him straight in the face and he went down and then the police came up and broke it all off. I was lucky not to get arrested, it it was fortunate that the police officer was one of my good mates and he knows me well and what im like I hate fighting and my chinese mates were well shocked that I punched him. I havent hit anyone in years and years, not since school but everyone normally tends to get into a ruck at school. Its part of growing up! My friends M3 Cab evo had a kebab and spit in his car from an idiot who was just jelous, hes got 19 inch crome rims that cost him 6 grand from America and that guy was dragged up the road by his cousin as the owner couldnt move, he was that much in shock, he even cleans the edges of his badges with a cotton wool bud and polish on and polish off. He uses ice cream stick and a cloth and does the insides of his M3 mirrors. he is just nuts with cleaning his car and his cousin is a big bloke from Nigeria and he dragged him all the way up the road and made him clear as much of it up then he was punished. The cousin spent an evening inside for what he did. The druken jelous idiot was rude to the police hence why he only spent one evening inside. Its always the jelous people.... why cant people be happy or respect other people pride and joy. I figure they just want the attention!

Yeah, lets have a look mate

Mike16v, Yeah rite, I have spent so much money on my C! I havent really started to hit the mods in a gig way either. I just want everuything working sweetly then start going to town! I know have an idea where my weed should live now!! Joke

My misses got into the car the other day, firstly she slammed the door, pulled down the sun visor and turned the light on and started putting her make up on, then she adjusted the visor and smeared the small mirror , then put her bag in the back, started brushing her hair and left bits of hair everywhere, left her brush in the car with her hair bands and her lipstick and to top it all..... she left lods and loads of sequens from her black dress all over the seat! I could have gone mad, but I didnt, I just left the kitchen in a mess and told her what I had to do after when she left my C in a state. Also I hate people leaning on my car, I see red when ever they go to purch themselves on my wing or boot.Arrrr :evil  Just had to express that!

G60Jet, Fair enough but IMO 7 x 10 would look a bit silly on the parcel shelf. Maybe not, I would have to see it first. In all my other cars I had 6 x 9's and with my C its got nothing on the rear shelf and I like the tidy look but I dont quite get the sound im looking for. Plus you dont show that you have speakers on the shelf and people may be less tempted to smash the window and rip your ICE out. Yeah, you can carpet them over with acoustic carpet but it never looks factory and not as tidy. If I did the mod I could always put small boxes and carpet those around the magnet of the 6 9's to try and stop the distortion. My friend makes sub boxes for a well know stereo company in Bournemouth and he said that he would do my boot for free as long as I bought the materials which is fair enough so im looking at ideas and suggestions. Now I have grown up a bit I kinda like having th eboot space, Its nice to be able to take your jacket off and put it in my boot as I hate jackets and crap lying around the car.

Scott, You can have my badge, its the crome look VR6 as my car goes into the body shop on Friday to have it de seemed and de badged and possibly the roof flushed - the plastic roof rack strips. Thats all they are. Yup, I know that when it rains and I open my window I will get wet but I get wet with the slight rail there so all I need to do in the is apply the breaks hard and force the rain off the car. It should look different as thats the look I want but keeping it subtle and clean. Let me know what you think. I was told that a german chap did it and it looked wicked and really unusual so I hope its worth doing. It should add to the smooth, clean look im after.

I have just called VW to put this to bed. It is simply a trim part that doesnt have anything in it! So basically for show. The parts chap said to me that I could hide my drugs in there!
-
G60Jet, Surely the vibration from the door speakers would distort the tweeter. Like people how run 6 x 9 in the rear shelf and have 2 12" subs, the rears just distrot the sound. They recon that 1 or 2 subs or what ever in the rear and components up front amped is the best set up?? I personally like a bit of lyrics hear directly in the rear but there must be a reason for it. Maybe the power and polarity from the front is sufficent and the base from the rear subs it a good set up>

duncanthemad, They do if you have G12 already in there. If not or you dont know your better of flushing the system out completely and starting again. My car has a 50 /50 mixture. Buy the G12 from the dealers, its not that expensive and use your CCGB membership card and you will get a massive 10% off.

Supercharged, My handles are at home, I will jot down the part numbers so we can note that they dont fit! They should have sent the matching mechs and if they didnt I will send them back to the breakers yard that I got them from. All I want is for my handles to work and be de locked and I will get there in the end! I will put the part numbers up later today if my misses is capable of reading them when she finished work before me. Otherwise it will be tomorrow. 8)

stormseeker, Excellent mate The only think is the link Darren added is a pile of you know what! I think it should be erased as firstly the english is very poor, secondly following his intructions will not get you anywhere. In his instructions it says bend the part that strikes the catch, the hole point why we use Passat handles is so that we dont have to modify anything so by using the correct year and mechs its a straight forward hadle and mech change which takes all of 10 minutes to do bith side. I just want to be sure that these part numbers will fit any C so for people with 16v or G60 they can on these part numbers being a straight forward swap for Passat handles. Or can anyone tell me that all the C range locking system is identical. It really did annoy me that I spent £50, fair enough its not a lot of money but to then have to bend then brake the hadle is just not on. I shouldnt have bent it in the first place as thats why my C handle bust because of ages and the metal being crappy metal that just snaps clean off. The mod does look good and tidy so providing we have got to the bottom of teh handle problem nobody should get as annoyed as me! Thanks Stromseeker and Craig David. It was on last night, funny as  !
