  1. The quote u've had is about right..... I managed to get mine done for £200. I called around and said I was a trade customer and had used them before so wanted a good price.... the chap quoted about £200. He then went on holiday and his boss said thats too cheap and said its usually £250/275 but he kept to the price quoted..... Car has been off the road for over a week and have nearly finished the manifold, painting and final mirror polish tomorrow and hopefully the brake calipers etc and ready for some clean refurbed wheels. I'll put a pic up Friday if they're finished
  2. I agree with the above, you could check the metal tray that sits below the throttle body to see if theres oil there? I guess you've just noticed it?

    Polishing Inlet VR6

How do you manage more than 1! She didnt help much as she didnt want to give it back.... On the nice picture sent, the section to the left of the rocker cover, this feels like its plastic so won't shine up. Where can I buy one A1 VR6? Cant have a shiney inlet and dull piece next to do. Hopefully I can get mine looking as clean as urs

  9. Hi all For those who know me... I used to spend all my time at work on this forum! I have just had the corrado serviced and had all round goodridge hoses fitted, new pads all round, new sump gasket and taken out the cat and centre box and fitted soming straight through and had to add a new centre box to quiet the exhaust down. It sounds a lot more aggressive now and hoax more people into playing! I believe there is a anual meet up soon... perhaps someone will be kind enough to inform me when this is on? The car will be going very soon, I am not fully decided as the car is running really well and its looking better all the time. My engine bay is almost complete with polished alloy case covering the full length og the block and a polished manifold. Anyway, hope to carch up with you guys soon and looking forward to seeing your C'sss I have been out of action for a while! Adios amegos
  10. some times when I reset the MFA im sure I get better MPG, its strange but try resetting it at least everytime you re fill and see if it changes? 8)
  11. kevhaywire, How low is the car? How stiff have you got the suspension? Is the front firmer than the rear etc>
  12. spoier, whats A2? I am needing an oil cooler for my vr.
  13. You can use a series of flushing agents, once you have flushed it through with a cleaner, then flush it with water and run the temperature up on just water and then let it cool, then drain and you should have a nice clean start. Then your 50 /50 mix of G12 that you get from VW and have a nice pink coloured expansion tank. Make sure the hose pipe that comes off the pump outlet is clean so the pipe stays on nicely to th eoutlet as mine leaked from there where it built up crud from the outlet pipe getting dirty and trying to prize the hose off slightly. I was wondering where the bloody leak was coming from, there was no sign of leakage anywhre and 16VG60 pointed it out and when he was doing teh head he noticed the problem. Well done that man!
  14. akacheesy, I think you should use a 50 / 50 mix. Use a cleaner to flush through the system and do it properly. 8)

    Koni coilovers

Just ask yourself why the Koni springs are more expensive? I would personally go with the Koni springs with the adjustables. My reson is that I have spoken to people who have both the Fk's and the Konis and the gereral feeling is the Koni give a better ride. There wont be any major differences, Koni shock with Koni spring sounds like they match well.
  17. Get yourself a female that has her own big air bags! No better way to go if you ask me!
  18. Kev, I have Avo coilovers on my car and every shock is burst,my car is coming off the road this sat for them all to be sent away and sorted. I have enclose a letter of disapointment as I wanted to drive out to Trax this Sunday. I have told Avo that if they go wrong again that I will be sending them back. This is the second time they would have been reconned and im sure they fitted a different size piston thread as one side is definately higher than the other. If this is the case it will be done free of charge and I have asked them to give me new springs free of charge as compensation. I think you will find with most of the adjustable kits that the lower you go and the harder you set them the more problems you will have. When I get mine back I am going to keep the car low ish, not decked where I have to really watch how I drive but low enough to make it look good and ride well. Its just a bloody pain when you have to have the car off teh road for a week and it just looks so helpless on axel stands when the engine can purr!

    Leaking Gearbox

kevhaywire, Cheers dude, I have just had teh head gasket done and there is no oil leaking from the engine and I can see it coiming off the box. Am I looking at big money? Or just a few seals and maybe the actual flange? SO take the drive shafts out and check the seals? Could this problem have anything to do with my car making a funny noise when I pull away or would that definitely be my clutch? It feels ok but as soon as you give the clutch some throttle it makes a weird noise. Im sure you understand what I mean? Basically is this a job I can do - I do have mechanic mates that would help me but I may need a special tool? I think Halfords sell them.... I need to get it sorted then my car will be leak free! Any extra advice would be great and thanks for the good reply. Appreciated Kev.
  20. Nice car there mate, dont put 3 spokes wheels on it though!! 8)
