  1. The clutch is much better, the pedal comes back up nicely as it was beginning to get a bit slow on the return. Didnt have time to change the gear bix fluid but that will do that with power steering fluid change next week. Definately recommend changing the brake and clutch fluid and a good bleed through, if you havent for a while.
  2. Ignore the caliper paint job, was planning to have them powder coated but couldnt get a slot quick enough and really needed to put the new brakes on. Need to just touch in a few places I missed when painting. Painted the disc edges and the where the centre to hold back the typical rust that builds up and they look neat.
  3. Well, I have new brakes that work.... My old discs were really pitted, especially the back of the discs, all came off nicely. Removed standard rubber brake hoses from front and rear and replaced with a Goodridge set, the only gremlin was the rear calliper bleed nipple has siezed but we got round that when bleeding. Forgot to order the springs for the front callipers but luckily, my mechanic had a spare set which we could use. I'll order a new set on Monday and replace mine with new ones as need to return old. Wire brushed around the hub and wish bones bolts etc to remove loose debris, matt blacked srayed the hub and wishbones and disc covers, just to tidy things up at this stage. Copper greased parts with copper spray and fitted the new 288 upgrade callipers and discs and pads to front end. When driving with my old discs it felt like they gripped then let go and so on. Had to remove the front hard brake lines and rear, they were really rusty, we bought a new roll from Euro and set about replacing the front and rear and making new ends etc. Was nice to see some new shiney parts and we managed to get the pipes looking excactly like the old ones. Cleaned the brake fluid resovoir as in the bottom were lots of dark speckles and removed the inner piece to the resvoir for cleaning. New oem fluid began the began to bleed the system. I used a Gunsons Brake bleeding kit, we started at the near side rear and round. We did everything well but forgot to do the master cylinder. After we bled that the pedal was excellent and we just went round everything again to make sure the air was removed. Drove home and taking things easy to bed the new brakes in, but can already feel a smooth no judder braking and a good bite and secure feeling when on the brakes, so I can only imagine once they have settled in, that I'll be more impressed. This forum convinced me that the 288 was well worth it and as im running standard 15 inch rims, this is all I could do. Few pics of old and new, I painted the callipers and carriers myself but did a poor job so will upload the new finished pictures later. Next week, new front engine mount being fitted, new power steering fluid and the inspection of the chains etc. Bought 2 second hand good condition front wongs so the body parts list is complete. Fitting a passenger door with no rust, bonnett with no rust, rear quarter wing arch and then its going to be painted. Still a long way to go, I though my pockets had holes in them but realised the corrado is sucking up money like no tomorrow. The mechanic said to me, you love this car dont' you... I said, not yet, but I know I will!Corrado conversion V2 (3).pdfCorrado 288 upgrade 005.jpg[/attachment:17p4v0te]

    window rattle

Hi there If you read in the 'exterior' section, theres a thread on ' serious window rattle', however, there are a few reasons..... The main reason is the window glass is knocking on the right hand slider itself. Its welded to the metal section of the inner door at the top and the bottom. What happened on mine is the top weld was fine, and still holding the slider at the top, but at the bottom of the slider, the weld had broken / come away and its that knocking against the glass. You can put your hand in behind and feel the top and how its joined and then feel it at the bottom and see if its loose or vice versa. Whilst your there, get some new plastic rollers from VW, probably they will have to order them in, they connect onto the ball sockets of the arms of the window mech, clean the guides and re grease and make sure the window itself is secure to the centre slider which makes the window go up and down. Held on with 2 10mm bolts/ I ended up using grip fill of all things to secure the slider back to the door and its worked, ideally a new spot of weld. I was to impatient that day when I fixed mine, I just had to stop the rattle. Take the door card off, remember the screw above the speaker, pull back the inner lining, grease and clean all moving parts, slide the plastic roillers out at each end of the runners, replace with new by sliding them back on in reverse order, when re fitting, just push them back onto the ball sockets of the arms and if need be just put the switch back in to operate the window and lift or adjust the window to help line it back up to get a simple push click. Another thing is to check the plastic clip that slides up and down the righ hand slider, sometimes this can come unstuck to the glass. If so, re stick it. Put the plastic cliponto the slider and stick it back to the window in the down position so you know its on the runner as you can slide it up from the bottom, theres not enough clearance. I have a couple of pics in you need them. Im sure you will sort it and if you get stuck, let me know, more than happy to help. I still forget Ive fixed it and when I close the door, I think, great, so happy I fixed it. :D Rams
  5. Top man, cheers. Hope you find what your looking for.
  6. Please put some pics up, that would be very helpful. Its an idea to cut out the vent out, I'll keep an eye out and see what vans are being broken. As for the washer jets, I want them to have a fine spray, I've seen some cars with them on the wiper arm. Need to see what would look better?? How do you plan to do keyless entry?
  7. Hi, I fixed my window rattle today and know exactly what it is. Your post assisted me in the finished result so thanks. The plastic clips slides up and down the slider, you've managed to get it on the runner and get smooth operation etc. The bit thats making the window rattle is at the bottom of the slider. If you put your hand in and feel if theres movement. If there is then glass vibrates against the slider. I just grip filled it back to the inner part of the door ensuring I didnt get any on the sides of the runner. Ideally a better product could have been used but I wanted to fix it today as I labelled today as the, '' ''Im fixing that bloddy window''! I even taped up the top of the door to make the gap tighter for the plastic strip that faces/touches the window. Also, corrected the cable slightly that came away from the yellow clip that you see when looking down between the glass cavity and the door.
  8. Agree with one of the comments, it should have been noted at the road side... Not to rub salt into the woond, but I was had a golf gti with harness seatbelts, I got pulled by a traffic officer and wasnt wearing my seatbelt. ''The police look out for the shiney buckle'', especially in the evening to determine if your wearing it or not if they are behind you. But just as I stopped, I made the action of removing my harness over my shoulders. Hee invited me into his volvo and said, ''I'll show you the video evidence''! He got a bit flustered as he couldnt find my video and kept going back and forth over other footage and when he did finally manage to find it, I pointed out what looked completely like I was removing my seatbelt. So he let me off! At least thats 1 all as you got a ticket when wearing your seatbelt....
  9. Its the first post ive read with a smile..... Fair play to you for posting it! I feel much better realising that there are many other corrado mad owners out there. I drive around all day in a beaten up ford transit 100 that splutters in the morning and makes everyone caugh whilst they walk past. But when I get into the c, its like day and night. Im on my 4th corrado now, each time I would look on a website for a new car, I always just checked the corrado and talked myself back into one. The classic in the mists!
  10. I got quoted today £7.50 but he said he couldnt even look at them for 2 weeks

Hi there I want to replace the greyish colour headlining in my car, do the G60'S come with black headlining? Cheers
  12. Hi there I have excelent condition side strips, the complete set, still look nice and black, straight with no scuffs. I am going to post them up for sale, but wondered what they might be worth? Cheers

  14. Fixed the window rattle finally today, I was not going to finish until it was done today. The right hand slider rail had broken its weld, managed to re stick that back at the bottome, the top welds were fine, cleaned everything down and re greased. Replaced the passenger side upper door card strip that had split, so all neat and tidy. Gave the car a good wash and hoover and cleaned parts of the engine bay, washed the battery pad cover and re fitted. Ordered new oem caliper repair kit Ordered new front vw oem engine mount Ordered new Goodridge brake hose kit, ready for next week when the new discs and pads get fitted and all new fluids received new oem 288 mm discs with oem pagid pads. Received 288 ate brake calipers and carriers. Booked them in for bead blasting and undecided to power coat or paint?? Picked up oem brake and clutch fluid Picked up oem gearbox fluid Neated up parrott handsfree kit and mounted the screen near the heated seat switches Removed all loose items and crap that keeps building up in the door cards, so rattle free Cleaned the leather again Lubed the wiper joints Replaced drivers door glass to one thats not srcatched and re fitted the plastic slider part that didnt come with the new door glass Took pictures of bump strips ready to sell, they're in perfect condition still as removed with heat gun and they are still straight. Will have my bonnett up for sale soon, it has some rust on the lip edge at the front but can be repaired. All sound deading pads are in very good condition. Im replacing mine with a secondhand rust free bonnett. Had to chase my dog around as she kept stealing the masking tap etc! Checked oil, water, brake fluid, gearbox oil and powersteering fluid levels Bidding for some new coilovers!!! Need to get it lowered asap as its doing my head in Sorted through most of the service history and put each page in plastic wallets. I ran out of plastic wallets. The history is superb. Every receipt is from a VW garage. Decided not to fit my new indicators untill its re sprayed Booked the car into have the rocker cover removed to inspect the tensioner / pad etc next week Put some fuel in and took a curise around Bournemouth and my favourite fly by under a tunnel bridge, the noise is awesome. Just by staples for anyone local... near wellington Rd. Still need 2 front arches, have the bonnett, have the rear arch, and bonnett then a full re spray. Planning to buy the wing vent and handles..... yet to decide on handles. Dont have a decent exhaust yet though...... noticed my centre box sheid had poped its weld. Might have been when I went the Thorpe Park last month and cliped the exhaust on the stupid logs that divide the spaces. I have become Corrado mad, all I want to do is make this car excellent, i cant recall ever giving something so much attention and I still cant stand looking at it with the paint the way it is. Next week, when everything gets fitted, I'll sort some pictures out of new parts being fitted.
  15. what fuel are you using and have you recently replaced the fuel filter? Try some injector cleaner too. When using opitmax I notice a better pick up and a sharper throttle response over 95 ron.
  16. Hi Im sure, ive checked. When did you post the item? Rams
  17. Hi, I paid the money a while ago but the tool hasnt arrived?>
  18. Hi there My 288 upgrade is going on in a couple of weeks, I have order new OEM discs and pads and will do the gearbox fluid too, I know thats a litre, but how much brake and clutch fluid will I need to renew the system? Im just adding it to my order from VW so need to ring them back. Regards Rams
  19. useoncedestroy, will have to meet as I live in Bournemouth or head to a c meet or something. I definately want the washer jets to have a fine spray, I think they are mounted to the arm like most French cars. The American SLC, are the side repeaters in the same position as yours.... thought they were more central to the bumber, cant find the question mark symbol on this foreign keyboard. The bonnett does look smart on your car, so its on my ever growing list. Do you think the LT vent looks better than the Sprinter vent, going to have a look at a few cars on the members gallery now
  20. Its good to read venom sell the vents, thanks for that The washer jet relocation to under the bonnett I didnt know either. Does it still spray rather than jet out? I just want to be able to wash the car and polish it without worrying about the side repeaters, the washer nozzles etc gettig in the way. The handles is something I have always thought about doing but didnt have the testicular fortidude to do it. Audi handles are nice and doing something a bit different is cool. But the keyless entry is great, I used to import cars and supplied cars to a couple of famous people, not celebs obviously, Steve Coogan and Harry Redknapp are a couple of their names, but just the credit card shaped key, the little button on the handle is cool and rather slick. I have been faffing around with the later style key and thought maybe its time to do one better? Like you say Kev, it could be the way forward to take one out of a scrapper. I have contacts still in Germany from my days of ordering UK spec rhd cars, I could ask them if they maybe be able to supply the sl system keyless entry? Its a megga expensive upgrade come to think of it! If its not SL keyless entry, I definately want to do something nice. E.G Theres a mini challenger on the market, if you want to buy a rear diffuser, you have to send your chassis number along with the broken article for them to send you a new one, its thats stricked, but managed to get one for my friend through their contacts. So if its anything Merc or VW etc, I might be able to help if its not easy to get from the UK. I know its off topic, but there you go. After body is sorted, fitting the 288 upgrade whilst still on BBS solitudes, then suspension, more suspension components and the virdict..... Supercharged or Turbo. Leaning towards supercharging the vr, but when that can happen depends on how hard I work? Then the matching Leon cupra R Brake upgrade probably. On holiday tomorrow with the gfriend to Hungary so will speak when I return, aparantely, its 35 degrees out there! Ouch
  21. Hi there My car is going to be painted soon when my new panels etc arrive, so I have been thinking about doing everything in one hit. The thought of some keyless entry like the SL mercs and CL's etc is a cool idea, could this mod be done? Or am I way off? Looking at getting the wing vent, always liked them, so that should be happening, deleting washer jets and relocating to wiper arm spray type and so on. I understand the side repeaters need to stay or you need a side flashing indicator? What the opinions on the American bumber mounted side repeaters? Ive seen a few and it adds to the low look and looks quite nice flashing in the lower position?? Side strips now removed, glad I did it, there was more rust under the passenger side adding to the crap paint work, but its just making me more determined to make the finished result one to be proud of. Any ideas where I can buy the wing vent from? As always, thanks in advance
  22. I would like one too, what do I need to do?
  23. removed the side bump strips and instantly the car just has a more modern look, managed to source all the bits for the body work and she will be going in soon for a full re spray. I am so looking forward to having the car look smart, will update pics for new panels and paint job when starting
