    emergency help!!!

Check all the fuses, its probably a 10 or 15 or 20 amp fuse. Fuse box. It may be loose or just blown.

    Tyres

Pirelli are grat tyres. The p7000 used to be on my Golf and they kept me alive. The tyre are a fairly soft compound so you get more grip but they dont last you as long as other brands. You will be happy with them, even in the wet you can give it sonme and they still feel reliable. Good choice, power is nothing without control!

    power steering?

You are looking at £100 and something pounds, I got mine from German & Sweedish but if the noise that I have means its a faulty pump I will get a refund and buy one from VW. Its probably £50 /70 pounds more expensive.
  4. Once I have the car back from the body shop and the subject on th ebraided hoses is known then I will have the pipes looked at and pay vdub a visit from what the garage says. I hope I dont need a new pipe, I just seem to spend and spend on this car, eventually it will be a brand new car. I hate my car to have a small problem here and there but they are not cheap to fix everything. We all need to team up and rob the main VW Parts section in Germany and come back with new panels, steering racks and ISV valves, heads the lot! I will hopefully dream of doing the raid!
  5. Its very simple. You have to take off the lead holders and on your throttle cable you have a samll clip. Move the clip up a notch or so till it takes a bit of slack up on your cable and it will hold the revs up. 2 second job when the cover is off. Make sure you dont take it up to far, turn the engine off and floor pedal and make sure its not too tight otherwise you will streach it and have to use engine tweeking to lift the revs. My car burbles when you rev the car, its a nice sound so dont worry. It could be running a bit rich if it really burbles alot.

    power steering?

chrishill, I would say new pump then! 8)
  7. 2CC, I have a set of braided hoses for my VR6 and they are in the boot of my car waiting to be fitted. Is the oackaging all the same? Is there a different part number as the hoses I got were only described as a 4 or 6 line kit obviously ours in the 6. I got them from German and sweedish so my point is how do I know if they are right or wrong before I take the wheel off or do I have to take the wheel off and compare the ends? You have concerned me as I was going to have them done this weekend. Please come back to me if you can.
  8. Scott, fair play!!I wouldnt try that against an R1 though. Corrados have a strange way of surprizing you be it, mechanical faults, nice women with big knockers looking at the car or winning races against bikes! I like the expression bang it in gear, sounds like you were driving hard! Corrado 1 bike 0
  9. VRSeX,Chris VR6nos is rite, mine does it. You can even here it more when you lift the hood! If you say is buchered then obviously replace it.
  10. lennylogknob, Fuc me!! I are you syre we mean the same thing? Just a power steering pipe? Not a whole new car! Maybe thats why he said we will straightened it? Could the pipe be kinked or not or does it just bend back again? Becasue it does sound like my pump was training but a louder sort of noise than that. More higher pitch than the noise you hear when your generally turning at slow speeds. mmmmm, you have got me thinking? I will get it checked out, or maybe someone at the CCCG day have a look? I will pm 16vg60 and see what he says or if anyone wants to help then let me know? Does anyone have this pipe I need? Ok, I need to put it in parts section.

    power steering?

When you say you cant turn the steering wheel when stationary I hope you are joking. You can turn a non power steering car stationary with a bit of difficultie. Mabe you need to go the gym! Lol. I would say that as long as the car is ideling well and you havent got a power drain anywhere you should be ok. Does the pump make a noise when you steer or is it silent? You should hear it straining and the revs may drop a little when on hard lock trying to get out of a tight space on full lock. Its just drawing power.
  12. lennylogknob, rite, I will flush it out at the weekend. I know when I had the accident in my car he said the pipe was bent but he straightened it, could that have anything to do with my squeel when turning left at junctions and stuff? A mate said it definitely sounds like a power steering noise and my steering is heavy! I thought that was to do with my samll steering wheel. I will give it a try and buy a new pipe from VW and see if it sorts it. How do I change / flush the system?
  13. thinking about it. The red stuff on the back did say suitable for VW's. It was dextron 2. I used Automatic transmission fluid which is also suitable for power steering pumps.
  14. if my cars out of the body shop when I finish work I will come.
  15. macca, when you polish thye wheel, just do the front of the wheel other wise you will end up hating your wheels and wish you never started. The tyre seals on the inside of the rim where you dont polish so its left as normal, you polish the very tops of the rims and a tiny bit on the inside so you wont see anything when the tyre is on. I sprayed the insides of my wheel black and the sides of the spokes to make the spokes look thinner and stand out, plus its less polishing. Its a long job, but you will be satisfied with the results and wheels do make a big difference to a car. A set of polished speedlines, like a mirror polished look would look sweet. Very classy and your C is on the one of the best wheels sizes for driving!
  16. VRSeX, the water pump is situated under the spark plug lead holders to the right of the block. Im sure someone on here will take a pic for you if you get stuck
  17. Adrian Flux is who im with and they class the VR6 as group 16teen!! I said to her that HIC had it classed as 18 and she said yeah, different insurers use different gradings so thats why I got a better quote than HIC. The funny thing is, HIC and Adrian FGlux use the same insurer just a different broker and HIC their team earn comission on every sale so watch out for when you run through what the car has as sometimes they dont put it all down on the quote. With my friend they asked him what mileage he would do and he said 10 thousand a year and they noted it down to 7 to reduce the cost of his policy. Just read through the proposal sheet carefully. Adrain Flux give you the lowest price first as they dont earn comission.
  18. I used to be with HIC untill Adrian Flux smashed the quote! It always takes ages to get throught o HIC na dyou have to follow that annoying automated service.
  19. if you take off the cubbins around the engine casing you will see it to the right og the block under there. It has an outlet with a pipe stuck on it. Make sure the pipe is on properly as the oulet can corrode and start pushing the pipe off the outlet. Listen to the pump and make sure its working. Try that first mate, thats what was up with my CVR.
  20. thats what I did! I knew of the chap through a mate so offered him a acup of tea and a biscuit then he talked me through the car and showed me whats hes done and will do. Then I poped in everyday and had a quick look, I made excuses like I have left me sun glasses in the car or I need my cheque book. Drop him a few beers down, anything where he will give you a better service.
  21. The C needs a good set of engine mounts also, these can be big factors to how the engine translates power to the wheels. The strut brace made a big difference, the car just felt more solid even on straight lines. The bushes are probably top mounts like others have said so get those done and get a set of Eibach springs. They only lower the car 25 /30 mm, you can just about tell that its been lowered. What are your tires like? Again, a nice set of good rubber can make all the difference. Stuff like tracking and balancing will all contribute, especially 4 wheel alignement. 8)
  22. corozin, yeah, I know your car. I have seen you out and about a few times. what is no rice? I will contact you again nearer the time for the CCGB and sort something out. You were parked on westover road at the weekend I think????? Mine should be lowered as of next week, well slammed is the term. C U around buddy. Actually, I did come to one of those meets in Ferndown with my friend in his yellow G60. I think it was the only yellow one there.
  23. I bet your car wont be ready even then. My car was a month or longer over due and the reason why he wants it now is they can do bits and bobs here and there till it goes into the oven to be painted. When ever you book a car in, particulary paint shops then say when is it going to be ready. Do you need the car for longer as I want it done properly / not rushed. The date they set you from you being cool and not rushing them will be more than likely ready when they say. The just want your business and by saying a week mate or saying bring it in now and we will get on with it ASAP means they have guaranteed business. However, if its late from that date then demand they do more bits for you, small bits like the plastic bits near the wing mirrors / front windows free of charge.
  24. I had my ride for just over 2 years, the G60 before that for 1 month! I have good and bad days in my C, I prefer driving it when it has time to streach its legs. Its nice to get them from 60 to 130, the noise is great and still pulls past 140 to 150. I know its not that accurate on the gage but thats what is reads.
