If I were you I would keep the c as you may not like your job, or circumstances may change in your life and if you sell the c you wont have it to fall back. Your obviously a big fan of the C otherwise you would be a member of this forum. But with the C no matter how much is annoys you, no matter how much you spend on it but as soon as you go to the garage and see it coimming off the ramps a smile is always generated and that is something! Moral of my story is, we dont always realise what we have till its gone!! Think about it

mate, I have the same problem, I have a nocking noise when I pull away fast or even when I really hit a corner at speed, I changed the front mount and it felt better but still the nocking noise was there.... I took it to a few garages and my mechanic stuck his head underneath the car whilst I turned the steering wheel from lock to lock.... the noise / nock happens when steering so he said it sounds like your top mount bearings are faulty? Anywayn I took the shock off and replaced the bearing and noticed that the top mount cup, thats the cup the holds the spring in place was oval shaped from the impact that side took from my accident, this cup fits over the strut so when you pull away or brake the whole shock / struts moves. All the shops were closed so I tapped the metal back down to make the hole as round as possible and still the noise / knock is still there, it doesnt sound any different even from my tempory fix. The steering feels fine, there is no other noises or feeling when driving at speed and all the joints, wishbones and ball joints and everything under there feels nice and tight. I will check the gearbox mount and the poart that you have explained about so hopefully that will cure my problem. You can feel the movment under your feet like you have described. Could you come back to me so I can have a chat with you. Cheers , also if anyone can shed light onto the subject I would welcome your thoughts.

Hi Karmann I would personally leave K and N alone, the BMC is a great filter, they do whats called a CDA which is a carbon direct airbox filter. The element is inside a canister which is carbon fibre so looks nice, keeps the element clean and dry and the keeps the air from getting cold. There is a place in southampton called Auto Technics and they eat, sleep and breath VW's and they recommended the BMW filter. BMW make the induction kits for AFerrari so you cant say they are going to be bad quality now, can you! They defiitely make a cda system for the C as me and my ,mate use the,m and I have the VR and hes got the G60. Im sure they have a website, have a play with the URLL's and im sure you will find it. It does cost a lot more, but for the sake of an extra 40 or 50 quid that will improve your bhp it got to be worth it. There are comapnies who rolling rd these filters and all the filter companies say they give you 10, 15 BHP which if you know anything about cars you will never get this from a filter alone, admittidly you can gain considerable increases of BHP from a filter but every BHP increase is not easy to get. One tester actually received 7 bhp from the filter, and I trust the source. I hope this helps you mate, if you get stuck again, I will give you a number for you to order the kit. The oimportant thing with the BMC filter is that you get a cold feed to it, you are supplied with some air ducting and if you run it from the bottom of yyour bumper, you can take a plastic part off near your readator and this enables you to be able to get the air ducting threw to the box. Like I said, any worries, give me a shout - Ramsay

Its my mate G60 - Yellow, hes got a set of 16"rims with a 215 40 16 tyre and the tyre was hitting thye spring. I did think earlier that he would get away with just a 5 mm spacer, however he has bought the proper kiyt for around £60 so I dont have to worry about the the 2 5 mm spacers anymore. Thanks for your concern with this matter I will let you both know tomorrow that it was all sorted. He apid £800 for his Bilstein coilovers, isnt that a bit expensive? It was cheaper than Demon Tweeks he said. I personally would have gone for a set of Koni coilovers and he had to wait 6 weeks for them to arrive from Germany!

My point at the start of the topic was..... If the idle is higher or lower than what VW state, what difference dowes it make? Is it kust that the higher the idle the more fuel you use or what? If anyone knows that would be great. I am assured that there is no detremental damage by the idle being adjusted incorrectly!
-
I have just checked mine an it sits nicely at 750!
-
I haventy checked mine as yet, I will do it shortly, I do recall it being lower than that anyhow. I havent cleaned my iSV yet, it seems fine but there is no harm in giving it the once over. I picked up my new engine mount in my lunch hour and just wondered if it was the same concept as my previous mk2 Golf? The early corrados have oil filled front mounts, so mine should be more straight forward if there was ever any further complications when fitting oil filled mounts?
-
I didnt say it would cause damage...... I was just making sure that it didnt affect the engine. Apologies for putting it in the wrong section.
-
I will check mine later, does it affect your engine if the car idles to low / high?

VR6STORM How long did it take AMD to rolling rd and chip? I live in Bournemouth so it will take me an hour to get there. I will probably get ,my exhaust iin a couple of weeks and then the chip that way there wont be any problems with needing the chip re maped i suppose!

Hi everyone I fitted a set of Bilestine Coilovers last nite (pss9) and the fronts went on fine so did the rears but the tyre hits the spring on the rear wheels so in order for me to get the wheel on I hired the spring loads so it would clear the tyre... I called a few places today and they said you need a spacer kit, they do universal spacer kits but they recommended if I was to go bigger than 5 mm do buy a spacker kit for around £60 quid other than the £8.99 universal spacer kits that they do. The problem they said if I used two 5mm spacers I wouldnt get the allignement on the hub? Could he be talking crap as hes trying to sell me a more expensive kit or is that true? I thought about sticking the two 5 mm spacers together and using longer wheel nuts, surely if the wheel is on then therre cant be any risk of saftey??

Cheers Chris I did say previously that the car still felt fine to drive, I will get the oil cooler done anyway and I will get the head re torqued and send myself down to AND for a chip. Where did you take your car for them to torque the head bolts up? Did you changed the gasket or not? How can we tell if the gasket is ok? I guess by seeing how the car behaves once the head has been torqued up? My car is on 93 / 4 thousand miles so nearly to the 100,000 mark. It only leaks out of the left side, everything else seems fine. Nice to read your stats with Noz and supercharger!! Your car must fly!
-
ok mate give me a shout when your free!! What engine have you got?
-
I have noticed oil comming from the side of my block, sure its the head gasket that its leakinfg from. Someone kindly replyed to my problem and said it was the oil cooler and reading your ideas that could be the same problem as my car. Also the guys car that i s leaking is the same year and engine as mine. Dav, send me an email so I can chart to you about your oil leak, im in the same boat as you. I hope my engine is not bust too! Look forward o hearing from you and anybody else that has an idea or can elaborate on the pervious discussions about our oil leak!

Banana man!! Can you try and get me a price on a new clutch for a k plate 93 Corrado CR6 please. I am looking for a decent clutch so if you can recommend any makes that would be much appreciated. Cheers - Rams

Wicked! I will get one ordered up, I have a few mates that work in halfords so should even be able to get a discount. I will do the engine mounts at the same time I think, I bet that gear box is one heavy mother.......

where is the oil cooler on the VR6? I know that my engine does get hot, I just thought that most raddos run fairly hot. Im sure the expansion tank looked a bit mucky but why would I have oil leaking from the side of the head? If it was the oil cooler could that solve my problem? Please let me know as I am a little worried about my engine and if theres something I can do asap then I will try it. I dont want to have to fork out loads of money by getting my engine re built as it feels fine. Sounds good too.

There is loads of threads on chipping a G60, so can someone please tell me what they think the best chip is for a vr6? So far I have a CDA filter, Carbon Direct Airfilter by BMC which is really good, now I want to progress to something a bit more technical. The car does feel quick, it still surprizes me when I hit the throttle so I figured that the chip would would make it a bit tipsy? The exhaust is still to be done. Please let me know what order you would do it as well, I. E Chip, then exhaust or Exhaust then chip or both at the same time? I do have some oil leaking from what I think is the head gasket, it runs down the left side of the block down past the belts and then onto the oil sump, I have been topping up the water a bit more as well recently. That would indicate that the head gasket has gone but the car feels really quick still.... Any ideas??

snap, the saying is,' if you want a job done properly, then do it yourself'!! Are there anyposts on how to change the gearbox or will I just have to figure it out as I go along? Would you rate the Black diamond clutch?
-
Hi dude I checked your ride, you should have hept it!! May c u in Bournemouth if your around, im always in that area! Adios amego
-
Sorry, I forgot to say that my clutch doesnt seem to move, it just sounds like its struggling a little. It id annoying as it sounds rubbish when you pull away,l it doesnt do it all the time but its getting worse. I take it that the noise went away when you changed the clutch? I was going to buy a Black Diamond kit from Venom for £182 inc VAT, they are sopposed to be around 30 percent stronger. I love flying off at lights, light it up in second and a little in 3rd! Would you recommend a clutch for my VR6? VR's are hydrolic clutches.

Hi mate If you do decide to get a pully, make sure you know exactly what cam you have and what the cam timings are as these will need to be dialed in. Dont make the mistake that I made where they had to take the cam out and call piper etc!! Just a word of advise. Adios amego

Hi people I have a sligt knocking sound when I pull away quickly or when I change gear and lift the clutch pedal quickly. Also on the subject of pulling away, my car makes a weird noise like the clutch is slipping, it will be too difficult to try and spell!! Has anoyone had this before? The car has 93n thousand miles on her now, probably on the same clutch. If it is the clutch I would like to do it my self and a few mates who know what they're doing.... Is it a bastard job to do? Again, any recommendations to which clutch to use? Rough costing too if yo know it! Back to initial enquire! I went to a garage to see if they knew what is was because I had a journey to make to Gatwick so I just wanted to make sure that everying was tight! There was quite a lot of engine movment, the mechanic said that the engine mount is oil filled, is that true? Is that all my problems are likelt to be? I noticed that my drivers side wheel looks off camber as the car was put back together not long ago after an accident, thats normally wheen they take the shock off if you dont get the line right on the hub carrier it will be off camber but I dont think that would cause the knocking. I will try a new engine mount so can anyone recommend a good mount? I used to use the VR6 engine mount on my MK2 Golf so is there any stronger mounts than the vr6 that OI could use? I heard that using a really strong engine mount may not help much if the others are standard? Is that true?

Hi mate I was out cruising around town at the weekend, I have recently met a kid called Darren with a 16V - red raddo and we had a bit of a play. I have a VR6, I havent had it back log since its been to the body shop so I am just enjoying driving it at the moment. Where abouts in Bournemouth do you live? Shall we try and organise something for next week? I might be going to kent this weekend but during the week is cool?
