Sorry, it wasnt that high, thanks for reminding me about an oilchange though, I will do it over the weekend! I have been using GTX Magnatec, can you recommend anything better for the VR?
-
jims16v, What do you think of my theory with getting the passenger window to be one touch for up and down by using a driver switch?
-
dav, there is not link to gain the info??
-
Hi again, yes it is normal for only 1 window to go up at a time, heres something that may help, I figured that as the drivers window is one touch for up and down and the passenger window is only 1 touch for down that you could but a drivers switch for the passenger side and it may work - i need to check that out! If you press the drivers switch then the passenger switch the driver window will open then when its open fully the passenger will follow itself without having to hit the switch again. The reason why the locking takes a while is because it operates as a vacum, rather than the modern cars that make a lound click or are really quick, it just shows the age of the C but still IMO a better car than anything modern for around that price range! You should be able to use your remote for the locking? Has your battery died in your remote or dont you have one because you said that you use a key?

The paint is lacqured, you can polish a car that has been painted, give it 2 weeks and the paint is sured to be settled. I left mine for 2 weeks, the body shop who painted the car then moped the car and told me to polish it to bring back the colour. The mop is to get all the tiny bits off maybe overspray etc out and then to give it a good polish, then I ultra glossed it and it looks stunning. I am not saying your wrong, but my car looks great and that the procedure I did. If your in doubt call your body shop or an independant shop. Just say that you would want to book your car in for a polish and ask him what they would do then hang up or say you will call them later when you know that your diary is free or some excuse!!

In town earlier it was 96 degrees, does that sound about rite scott?
-
Zymol is just a polish, it is brilliant stuff, the condisioners in the poish are really good for your paint, some of the Zymol range has to be applied with your hand as your hands are softer that a cloth and the polish need to be free of any oxides from the cloth! Try it!

My dealer is really good, there is one older guy that is a bit of a wet fish but I have started to build up a repore with a yonger chap that likes c's and he said that he recognised my voice on the fone as Im always getting bits. I had a problem with my sunroof - still do actually and he said pop it down and I can have a look and tell you what the problem is and find you the correct part. I agree with what you said though mate, but they arent all bad. Thats a fair point I think. I am just waiting for the day that I go to pay and he knocks some money off...... pigs might fly! We should do a massive raid in Germany for all the corrado parts joke! I will hopefully have a dream tonight about pulling off the job!! How about this.... Drive through the doors with a massive lorry and say, '' OK I DONT WANT ANY HEROS, BUT JUST PUT ALL THE CORRADO PARTS IN THE TRUCK AND NOBODY GETS HURT'', i think the sun is getting to me!! Just ignore me.Im board at work!!

The oil on my car seems to be really hot, when I took the cap off you could see the heat like a small heat wave. I know they run hot but could I have any problems? My temp on the MFA was reading on the motorway, now I am just trying to remember but I think it was around 128 degrees, I could be wrong, the water temp was just up from 70 /80 so that seemed spot on. I would just like to know if there are any possibilities why that could be, or how can I tell if the oilc cooler isnt working properly without chaging it? Cheers again

I drove to Kent for the weekend and I didnt drive the car for 1 day and in the morning there was a fairly large patch of something under my car. I tasted the stuff and it was like coolant, I stuck my hand under the engine and it was dripping onto my hand. The drip was fairly regular and I had to be on my way back to bournemouth so I drove to Quick fir - that was the only place open on a sunday . Before I left I toped up the expansion tank as that was really low and put the car on the ramp. The leak had stopped so I figured that when the engine is running the pressure stops the leak, could it be an o ring or something? The mechanic if he can call himself that said it could be the water union o ring that is leaking? Could anyone back that idea up? It was from near the thermostat I am told, the drips were landing near or just below and to front engine mount and all the hoses look ok. I need to get this sorted as I dont want my engine to die!! Any ideas would be great. If I havent explained myself well enough just let me know and I will try to answer any of your question as to what it could be. Thanks again

Your misses should have used her own twin airbags like mine had to do!! Luck my women has more silicone than that I use to clean the insides out of my car!

Nice one mate, that just made me laugh, the funny thig is mate that its the sort of thing my girlfriend would do!! Shes already had an accident in my car when she poped to the shops for some shopping, The last thing I said to her was be carefull, I love this car and then she called me 30 minutes later saying your not going to believe this and you can imagine I felt straight out of love with her as my heart was broken. Never mind her, joke! Wicked idea!

No worries mate, my car is a 93 so they are practically the same. The headlining needs to be slid out of the car through the tail gate, keep it flat, try and get someone inside the car to push up and help you guide it back. There is an allen key that you can wind the roof mechanically and when you have got the roof out and fixed the part use the tool to make sure it all works ie opens and closes as the last thing you want to do put it all back together for it not to work. My sunroof still doesnt slide, I meed this bit next, when I bought the car rthe roof only tilted then that broke and I have fixed that part so my roof tilts fine now just want to get the sliding part done as its nice to get the roof back on a nice warm evening! I love cabriolets, so its the closest I can get to! The spark plugs - use some long nose pliars to put the leads on and off, make sure they are tight on the plug, remember even new plugs can be faulty!

There is a supplier in America, search for the website, I think its http://www.bmc.airfilters.com, or http://www.bmcairfilter.com!
-
Mate, if your looking to get better performance then you buy the filter / be it a panel or induction kit, the idea being that you aid more air into the system therefore needing more fuel etc to complete the chain. If you just put a panel filter in then you wont need much adjustment, you could leave the adjustment alone and it would feel fine, but it would be that little bit better to give it a tune, you could always wait untill you have modded it again then take it for a tune. See how you get on. Most people would just put the panel filter in and leave it but I am fussy about stuff like that, it has to be perfect!!

I am confused now??? I have the cash to get this system in place so I guess I should get as much knowlege as possible, if you have any more things yoiiu can tell me about Nos that would be a great start. I want to lear it for myself before I decide to get it done so I know what to do and expect. Corradovr6 -nos, what performance stats are you producing? Is it really a killer on the road and c\ould I have the button on my gear knob if I lifted a cap for the obvious reasons.

Is the passat sunroof similar? What is the benift of using a passat sunroof?
-
I have a similar problem but why would it be the part behind the disk, the metal plate your refered to? This wont move when you steer! I think its something to do with the powersteering pipes, I briefly stuck my head under the car when it was on the ramps and noticed the metal power steering pipe had some shiny metal on it and was touching another metal part so I think this part could be touching when you steer right. The faster you drive the higher pitch the sound and you can hear it very slightly, I have started to notice it more now at really slow speeds IE a car park and have recently had a new power steering pump fitted so maybe the pipes are not straight. I will get it sorted and let you know if that sorts it. The bearing you can check by wiggiling the wheel, up and down / left and right with the car jacket up, if theres movment then the bearing definitely need doing.

Hi there Welcome to the Corrado forum (CF) I drive a VR so the problems you have sounds like the car needs new plugs and rotor arm and dizzy cap and you may as well puts some new leads on. If the car was in storage for a while it would be nice to give it a good treat and im sure it wont miss fire. My car missed a beat and it was due to a doggy lead and plug but the car drove fine when it was higher in the revs. You may find that you have particular problems on the first plug IE dirt etc especially as the car has been left, the oil may have seeped in and it just need a good service and a blast to clear the car out. I did that and mine is so much better, it will feel lkike a different car! The whine could be the power steering belt / pump, the belt could be too tight or the pump is struggling, without out seeing the car I wouldnt know, check the level of power steering fluid which is just up from the battery. The sunroof you can have fixed, I dont know if your handy with mechanical stuff, but I fixed mine, I took the roof lining out and removed the sunroof and purchase the new cable from VW, it has attached the part that attaches as the sliding mechanism, it wasnt that expensive, I think it was around 25 pounds or something like that. Its easy to get the sunroof out / in, it just looks complicated to do but providing you know where the new part goes and how to attach it then its fairly straight forward. My local VW /Audi fgarage tried to charge me £300 to fix it which is why I got my mate who is an engineer to do it for a beer!! You can sort your roof out as a tempory basis, if you get into the car, use a metal thing strong object and see where the runner is, just drag the tunner with your tool to try and shut the roof a bit more and leave yourself enough space to be able to get your tool out, it no use trying to push the roof down / closed! I hope my suggestions help and if you have any worries let me know. When other people reply if there ideas are the same then Im sure you are onto a winner.

Hi I spoke to BMC in aAmerica today and they say that they havent tested the filter on a Corrado, thats why they suggest flat pane; filter. Either way, the system in toe with the CDA system is that it can give you 30 % more aqir so providing you alter the mapping / fuel / oil mixtures etc so you get the best out of it. If you dont get the car tunned you may be getting to much air in which would obviously defeat the object of upgrading performance. I now have contact details for the main supplier in Milton Kynes so I will get intouch with them today or monday as im out of the office. I am sure that the panel filter will be 1 of the best around. I can give you direct contact details with BMC if you like? Let me know and I will forward my e mail on to you from America. I would be interested to see what performance gains they could get with and without my CDA before they chip it. I will ask AMD if they can do that for when my car is booked in.

Yeah, you do!! I just need to lower the car for the time, I am investigation NOS, I just want to feel that power to put you into your seat, or wait for my gf to start sucking away aiiiii. I did come back to you and tell you that the date of the bumper is stamped on the inside on a grid, so before it got painted we checked the date. Hows your car doing? What are you having done next? You should come to Bournemouth for a night out with some mates, its a good laugh now. It has been voted the best night life in Europe now for a few years! Good to hrear from you

Any idea of price? I think you would have to say a little white lie to the insurance company! Yeah, Hi there, I am 21 and would like to insurce a Corrado VR6, EMMMMM, its going to be expensive......., oh yeah, I have Nitros Oxside fitted which makes my car take off into the distance.. get real you xxxxxx
-
Can anyone point me in the gereral direction in where I can have NOZ fitted and estimated cost? I believe there are a few different types of Nitros kits available, the one I liked the sound of was dry nitros, aparantely it was better for your engine. To my knowlege, the dry Noz is more of a gradual incease of power than apposed to a 50 or what ever sudden increase of power. The later does sound good but I know what I am like, and that button would be like playing a rally game on the computer! Gradual power sounds good to me. I am not confident with this art all hence why I am relying on my fellow C drivers to help. Whilst I was writing this, I just though the canister could go under the armrest? Eveyone seems to spend loads of money modifying their car when NOZ has to be the most fun to use, gives you great power but it hasnt fully taken off here like it has in america or something and we normally always follow on from the americans in such cases. So, anyone that wants to educate me on NOZ would be greatly appreciated, such as possible side effects, price, performance etc. Kind regards - Rams   :pharoh:
