    Bonnet Won't Open

try pushing down the bonnet near where the springs are located, this happened to my mate, we could only get one side open which was the drivers side, then the AA came along and simply pushed down on t he bonnet and it opened. Just make sure you havent left a cap off or that there is anything in the way when you get it open. The problem surely must be the release mech if you have put a new cable in and greased the springs etc?
  2. Dubcharged, thats the one i've got ..... a CDA filter by BMC! Expensive but worth the money! I got my car back art the weekend from the bodyt shop, before it went in it was on the standard 15 inch speedline alloys so I bought some 17teens and a new smaller momo millenium steering wheel and the car feels fantastic. It feels a lot tighter or the corners and with the smaller steering wheel it just feels really good. I drove all weekend, and planning a trip to Alton Towers!! I dont know if you noticed but I was planning a track day, we could always arrange a trip to Alton Towers for the day?Or is that not peoples bag?
  3. Hi all My c vr6 has ignition problems, you have to turn the key really hard and then move it around till it connects and starts. Can anyone help me through just what I need to do? I did read somewhere before how it was done but I cant find it. Cheers
  4. Sorry, however if I am going to put all the effort into organising something, one of the perks would be that its not a million miles away! Another reason why the south is easier is that the contacts I have our in these areas so we can keep the cost down etc. I can always give you the details of how our event went so you can plan your own track day / corrado day up north. You can fly direct to Bournemouth for around £50 or get a train from Waverly to Bournemouth, I used to live in Edinburgh. But certainly, if the numbers are good then we can do them where ever. Hey, I cant please evryone, maybe I shouldnt have said 'neutral', but thats the venue area.
  5. Cars ey I have broken up with 2 of my previous girlfriends because she thought I loved my car more than her!! She was probably right... Joke. Seriously, my idea is, you have the only key to take her for a spin, you treat it nicely she treats you nicely, the best one is that you never get back chat!! ASpologies for the women on this forum, im just going on past experience and im sure us guys are all not perfect if that what you were thinking!! Just trying to be amusing on a boaring Friday afternoon at work when we all know that in an hour or so we will be free till Tuesday, well for those who have bank holidays off. Im going very shortly, so I hope everyone has a great long weekend and speak to you on Tuesday. If anyone lives near bournemouth take a trip down , its nice here, just head straight for the town centre - westover Road.Adios Amegos. Kev, I hope you sort it out!
  6. Mark16v, I love the rims, they're a classic. I used to have them on my Mk2 Golf! I really think that this event will be great, I will even be looking for sponsers, so if anyone knows the rite people thenm get them to contact me. If we all put abit of effort into this then we will all be able to reep the bennifits. More heads are better than 1! Please excuse my rubbish spelling !
  7. Just read through the replies, I didnt mention anyone driving other peoples cars, just the owners taking passengers for a spin, so we can all get a chance to really compare our beasts!! I agree with the guy who said about the southerners getting the short end of the stick so somewhere more neutral, London- ish area is what im thinking at the moment. We all know the possible places, the more people the better the venue its as simple as that.
  8. Glad the responses show positive coleration, I love organising events as I am always known as the organiser!! If I make some enquiries, cost, times etc I will get back to you guys, I am relatively knew to the forum but when I realised that most of the people on here are real enthuasists then it makes you want to do something really special. I just think the noises from the cars, the great loud whistle and super charged G60's and the Vr's etc will sound the nuts going round a track. As long as you have decent tyres and a good road worthy car you should have no worries, I dont want the minority to spoil it for the majority. I will need marshals, not quite like in a majour championship, just responsible people that we can communicate with to make sure everything is running smoothly. Thinking out load....... we could have a get to know everyone, then have a look around the cars and absorb loads of information from everyone then when we are all itching to get on the track we can seperate the boys from the men!! Im getting excited already! Please help me with rumbers, Iit will take me ages to read each reply etc, or maybe I should have a chat with Andi. Any questions, please fire away, but I promise the final organisation will be spot on, I hate half hearted attemps.
  9. You dont have to nail your car round the track, its up to you..... I do think that most people that get the oppertunity to drive fast knowing that they're not going to be pigged on a race track designed for speeding would take full oppertunity to give their corrado a good ragging!! I understand your point though, so you dont have to go crazy, we could do sections for people who just want to test there handaling on a certain corner as we all have favourite angles in driving. Other sections could be for the more sudated driver and someone who has just bought a corrado to get a feel for it or any idea they have. What do you say to that?
  10. I was thinking like probably most have us have thought ....... combining as many corrado drivers as possible and hiring a tract somewhere that we can test our skills and abilities and take rides in each others car so we know what mods are the way forward. Im sure that we could have an excellent day, lets face it, meeting up and having a good chat about corrado stuff and racing etc would be an ideal day out for most of us. If its of any interest, please come back to me once I have an idea of numbers I can get a really good price VIA contacts. I could even get a race track in Germany for free through my contact with BMW, imagine the treck up there in a massive convoy.... Sorry getting carried away but it could be arranged! adios amegos
  11. Hi everyone, I quite agree with Paul about racing other cars, someone said they beat a new BMW E46 (343bhp), I think what they meant to say was they out drove him / her as I import those cars and was invited by BMW in Germany to test drive all of theie cars on a F1 track, and the BMW M3 is incrediable, did anyone see it on Top Gear last Sunday up against the Audi RS6 I think? Point taken Paul, however, there are some cars that you can be in a better enviorment and can test your skills, lets face it, I guy driving a c wont kill himself to win a race, a twat in a beaten up escourt has all the more to prove and we should really just leave those cars alone or it will give us raddo drivers a bad name. We need to be know as the elite and going up against the bigger boys.
  12. Want to meet up some time a go for a cruise in a convoy if we can get enough people? Let me know your thoughts!
  13. Real sorry to hear your car got nicked, perhaps you may consider a tracker if its your pride and joy??
  14. I once raced a Porsche Boxter S along a country road, they dont seem all that as I was on his tail constantly unless he couldnt drive properly! Anyone taken out Porkers?
  15. Scott What impreza did you beat? What has your car had done? I tried to beat one but it was too quick! Some of the higher end models are running standard 280 BHP, like the P1 and the type R.
  16. Also the sound is different and with the Ram air system it may have sounded louder, this can some time give you the conception that you are going faster. Im not saying that what he did wasnt true but it is something you cant rule out!
  17. scott When you fit the BMC filter you need to make sure there is an air feed to it, without it the filter would be naff, its the design that keeps it cool (carbon fibre) and as its in a tube it obviously need the forced air to complete the filters capabilities. Did your mate make an air feed to it? Im sure that would cure the problem.
  18. Hi dude The BMC filters will fit the G60, you have to measure the diameter of something as there are 2 sizes, I really rate them, my friend has a G60 chiped, pully and stage 4 etc and he and I both run the BMC filter, providing you get the air feed to it you will feel the difference. When you get really high in the rev range without the filter you can feel the C baking off but with this filter you can feel the difference especially when you get into the high rev range! I will be getting me car back from the body shop tonight and I will hopefully take a pic for you. You dont have to muck around with heat shields etc.

    rattly alternater

My mate whos got a G60 had a very similar problem, im just trying to think what it was...... I will call him and get back to you!! Have you recently had the charher re built or taken off? It could have something to do with the spring thats on the charger that rattles and obvioulsy the spring is really close to the alternator? And that would still give the illusion that the noise is coming from the alternator?? Not really sure mate without looking at it, but I think that had something to do with my mate who had a sililar problem to you. You could always just check the nuts are tight on the spring..... Buying a G60

Hi dan How do I get a picture of my car beside the message?
  22. BMC air filters are wicked!! Its a carbon fibre large tube with the filter inside that you need to have a direct air feed to it! You always hear that K % N, Ram Air etc give you 10 BHP which we all know to be rubbish, they are still goof filters but the BMC filter does give you true reading of BHP increase, its the most expensive on the market to my knowlege and it doesnt sound like a cheap induction sound, it sounds classy and lets face it the VR6 does sound the nuts without a filter and the G60 with that lush whistle / charger sound, but if your wanting a good filter BMC is the one I would choose - they make filters for Ferrair so they cant be bad! As it has the carbon fibre tube it keeps the hot air away..... there is a plastic panel you can take off near the left fan which will guide you down to the bottom of the bumper! It took me ages to work out how to get an air feed on the corrado VR6 but I read it in a magazine somewhere. It also looks cool too!
  23. I had a bloody good race with a Honda Civic Type R!! They are supposed to be one of the best front wheels drive cars at handling! It was fairly even, but if my VR could strech her legs then it would have been a different story!!
  24. Just read through the responses and I noticed that your car gives you good fuel econmy and someone else rightly pointed out that your mixtures could be at fault, but your mixtures could be too lean hence you needing to give a bit of accleration on start up. Its all do do with the injection system as the pump sprays fuel for around 5 or 7 seconds thats what the noise when the ignition is turned... The louder the noise the higher the pressure you have from your fuel pump so when you accerate upon start up you flud the engine and it takes loger for the combustion to take take its place.Just an idea!

    paint question

what ever you decide to do, mine is being done today by the body shop but I'm having the whole car done at the same point.... When you take the number plate off its not a matter of ripping the backing plate off. Just take care, you dont want to snap the plastic lugs underneed the boot lip like I did. The bottom part of the plate is stuck on with tape so whilst your pulling down on the plate keep cutting the tape off as there is loads of dirt and dust thats trapped in there which makes the glue seem that bit sticker! Give it a good clean before you re- fit!
