Would anyone be interested if we could all agree on a system where we all share VAG COM - the error codes for those who dont know it plugs into your ECU to determine where faults are. If we all paid X amount one person ie. me or anyone who wants to be the main holder, could then post it onto the next person. All you would have to pay is postage and if someone could kindly tell me if its a small then that would make postage even cheaper. We could buy a carrier, ie. a hard plastic case to protect it and so on..... It would be much better knowing we had access to a very helpful tool. Due to the group by this item will be very inexpensive. We could have a few to cover the south, North etc. Please let me know if there is interest for this so we can get cracking. I know I wouldnt mind having access to it if I have a problem and we could divise the next person to have it on the website so we can tract where it is at all times. I look forward to your responses!

I am due to visit PD later today, I have a VR6 and need to get a slight oil leak looked at and coolant. Whos had similar sorts of problems and what did they do to sort it and were you happy with the work? Cheers

Eibach and Koni are IMO the perfect combo!! The Eibach springs dont lower the car that much, I think they have a max of 25 /30 mm. Eibach will very shortly have a coil over kit - fully Eibach so they should be a good contendor for Koni. I didnt have the set up on my C but I did on my Golf MK2 Gti and I had Koni dampening adjustable and it felt really good. I think the C has the same chassis as the Golf - not 100 % sure if thast right? :)

Mate, I have a TV and tried to find a suitable place to put the TFT screen, if you put it near or on the dash it just obstructs your field of vision. I thought about installing it slighlty inside the glove box cover, not actually in the glove box as my CD cahnger will go there if it fits but other than that I dont really know where it can go. Can anyone say where they have fitted theres or even show us a pic? :D :D

Make sure you know what the firing order is? Someone on hear will know. What I normally do is obviously once you have taken off any plastic moulding take one lead off and match the length with your new leads and do each one like that individually that way if you nervous you will do it wrong you cant! Make sure you get the leads on and off properly without pulling the heads off, always push the leads on as far as you can go with holding the head of the lead and not the actuall cable if you like. You may as well buy a new dizzy cap and rotar arm, they only cost pounds and you will feel a nice crisp difference iof your old ones are nackered. What happens in the dizzy cap is sometimes the corners are burnt and dont spark to each electrode properly hence poor performance and that normally happens when the rotar arm is dirty / dark at the end as its not shooting the spark off properly. Easy when you know how!

My dash board creaks by the drivers side tweeter, it bugs me so much that I start hitting it sometimes. If theres one thing I hate is creaks and noises and squeeky breaks. That is when I wish I bought a brand new car but there is noting out there that matches the look and love that the c offers so I guess I just have to sort them out fast before I take a large tool to my dash. Can anyone help with the creaky dash?
-
if you read back, VR6 STORM said his MPG improved slightly!

I would love to know too!! It must serve a purpose or to secure the dash further more?? I dont know?

Ok mate, leave it with me!!

Ever wanted to be told if your car alarm is set off?
Rams replied to C. Will Corrado G60 2's topic in General Car Chat
Your answer to your post is NO!! Joke, what I mesn is that I never want to be told that my car alram is going off otherwise someone is trying to nick it!! Is the system only available if you buy their alarm unit or can it be fitted to different makes of alarms? -
Mate, I would check the glasses guide, I would do it for you but my book is in my brief case at home unfortunately, however you can check the value on line with glasses guide.co.uk. If your looking at any cars on the forum they are bound to be highish prices as most of them are modded or valued higher as they are corrado fanaticsand have had lots of money thrownat them and love. Even if their car wasnt that great they dont feel embarresed to ask for a higher price, unless it was stupidy expensive. Catch my drift? If you can get one from a lady driver or something like that who just wants a new car etc then thats when you can play the car game. Have a good search on the internet on the Auto Trader website and remember if you find a vr6 with slightly higher miles without leather and toys you can always add them. For example, you could spend a grand with B Tim who are excellent at leather re trims and you can even make it custom to your preference. Also there are people from this forum and other places like the Corrado website of Great Britian that are advertising a full set of leather Recaro seats and all the connections for heating or electically adjustable for the 7 to 800 hundred pounds mark so you could always take that into consideration. I think you can find a very tidy VR6 with full service history and not many owners for around £5000 weather its up for 6 gees you could still haggle people down. If your looking at spending 7 to 7500 gees you could buy a set of rims and suspension and be hlaf way there making it look like a lush Corrado. Standard VR6 are so high and they spoil the look IMO. So for 7 gees you've got a tidy, low nice looking C for 7 grand. Infact I will have a look for you now and if I find anything I will let you know. AWhat area are you in as I can contact my trader friends to see if there are any c's. Food for thought!
-
mate, forget what Joe M says about offer him £6800, you are only going to haggle up to £7000, its not worth all that bartering for £200 quid. I sell cars for a living so I know the trade well, say to him providing you like the car and its all pucca, say that you will give him £6400 cash now, thats the deal I can offer you. The cars sounds fine, why would he want to sell it, he may need cash for what ever reason, lets face it, we all need cash and show me another car on the net with a similar spec and alter the price or something to show him the car is worth less than stated. You have to play hard ball, dont be afraid to offer him silly money and even if he doesnt accept it just walk away saying you have my number and I need to be in a car by sat / sun and you wait and see what happens. When I was 18 I bought my first G60 from a trader in London, I liked the car so much I had all the cash ready to give him but I never showed him that I liked the car, I always kept re looking over maybe a chip or something tiny without saying anything and got my friend to sift through the paper work and took a long time umming and arring, so he said make me an offer and I said its no way near what you are asking for it which is a shame because I travelled all the way from Bournemouth but luckily I have another one to see and - then show him the picture - and he said ok how much were you going to offer me and I said 1000 less than what the asking price was and he said basically go home, so I said ok. Got my stuff together and as we were walking away he said ok you little bastar* I do the deal. It just goes to show you what can be done and that doesnt mean that when I sell my car anyone can offer me silly money!! Joke, I wouldnt sell it anyway, well definitely not yet. Hope that help, just remember you never have to buy anything accept condoms - you have the cash and he is trying to sell his car. Money talks!! If he says forget it, there are loads of others and you can always go back to him and reconsider the deal. Never rush buy, especially with a car. Sorry again if I have rambled on again, I just want you to get the best deal mate.

Yeah, thanks, if you could that would be helpfull.

The Champion range is ok, there are better but like you say.... you dont want to break the bank. I would put a new set of plugs in it as well, always good to have new leads and plugs!! You will be fine with them. Just for future reference, I used the lead set from German and Sweedish and I know they are much cheaper than VW's prices.

Mate, thinking about it now, I definitely would say its a sensor of some description or ISV as the engine sounds mint on tick over and if it was a naff engine or bad piston rings im sure that you could detect some doddy noises. My golf used to do it and it was the throttle sensor and I think someone even mentioned this as he couldnt find the fault with his ca, VAG COM didnt pick it up and VW told him to change the throttle switch / sensor and it was sorted so give Vdub a call and find out how much it is or try and contact the kiddie who noted his problem. You car didnt feel that bad, I thought mine fellt sluggish last night, it really prefers the cold night air and it changes completely I will take you out in the evening and show you the difference. We forgot to have a beer because we were so busy looking at eachothers engine and comparing them. I have replied to your message from What car can your VR6 beat.

Crazyman, how you doing! That was nothing, that was a sunday drive and man, my car felt slow. Last night it seemed to be pulling really hard to the point where AI had a lot of torque steer. The C's are very good with Torque steer for the power delivery through the front wheels. I liked your seats very much, I need those gismos in my car, IE electric heated seats. I think after the engine is sorted I will have to purchase a set of interior or a new re trim. Definitely do your throttle cable, it will be nicer to drive and if your current one has streached it will just pull the cable tighter / faster to help open up the throttle quicker. We regulary get to gether at a mates unit near pool and we do all sorts to the cars, he has all the tools and a windy gun so it makes life much easier. I think I need to get my car lower so next week I will purchase my self a set of adjustable. Really indecide what to buy but £500 / £600 will be enough. I was reading somewhere that there are some new shocks that are height adjustable and the more you lower them the harder they get which sounds ok, I would prefer to have a fully adjustable kit. You can come along with us when we are next going to sort my car out and the others can help you try and sort your problems out.

I know what you mean, I played with a brand new boxter s throught the country lanes, the counbtry lanes are one of the best I have ever been on. There is a hump back bridge, only 1 lane can get through and the hump is on a slight bend so you can fly over it or you will go straight on into a brick wall as many people have done. I once took it a bit to fast and just managed to hit the ground before the wall so I just managed to gain the gravity and steer away from it.... That oned got the heart pumping I tell ya! I am trying to chill out now, I almost feel a bit guilty when I nail my car, before I used to love screaming the nuts of it and crunch the gears by changing too fast but now I think im getting old!! I would much rather have a fantastic looking car to drive all the time and not waiting 3 months for it to come out of the body shop!! I think that is why I have calmed down and nearly snuffing it kind of wakes you up. I used to see no fear signs in my head when I was racing, weather I was concentration so hard I dont know but no I have a misses that loves me very much yuck I know sorry guys but she said I have to be more considerate aboput her feeling and my family and friends because they way you drive is dangerous, its not as in I take mega risks or anything, I just push it hard. What she said is right because my family or anybodies family would suffer for life and your mates. My little advise from being a nutter is, would we really want to be in a wheel chair for 10 minutes of fun / horror etc!!! Do you want to be fed via a drip for the rest of your life!!! Basically I want to scare evryone from taking un nessary risks as we all can get excited and before you know it you have screwed up or shot our load how ever you want to look at it. The hard thing is that when I get tempted to do someone one and you know that your car is all up together and feeling fast is that as you get older you know you can push harder as it takes more to scare you so you can go into a bend at fast speed and think you will come out of it alive even if the car is sliding! Anyway, shut up Rams, I just hope we all are carefull as we may never know if anything tragic has happened to us if we never contact this forum again! I went into a bend think yeah, this is fine, the car was all over the place but when you hold it so far you think well Im here now, keep the throttle down and dont back off, steady with th esteering wheel and then you get a blow out at 80 or 90 round the bend and you are looking at at least £2000 worth of damage or a few missing limbs. Our little moto amoungst friends in Bournemouth is Safe and slow which we all know is a something take but really thats what we mean!! Sorry I have rambled on again, I find it hard sometimes to stop typing once my fingers rip through the keys!! Just say to me in the future, shut up Rams we have heard all your gibber before!
-
we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??
Rams replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat
Sometimes I get in my car and I think it just feels or great and it drives really nicely but as soon as I get a niggle I sometimes just think I could have a brand new car with free servicing etc. I wouldnt have to worry about it and jump in it and off I go. I have seen some older Porsches that I have thought about, I suppose I would be branded Cheap mans Porsche but still classics around for 8 geees plus?? The C is the top of the top in the range so at least I have something that still is a great car. I suppose a lot of it boils down to the power, where we all love the c even if we are peed off with it it makes us love them more. When you get in a new sports car they all just feel like they handle so well and that they arte comfortable over bumps as well as being lowish and big wide thin tyres and that is the feel I love and its just not going to happen with any set of suspension you can buy t get that sort of ride comfort. Im just being fussy now. The supra 3 ltr twin Turbo is also making me think........ You have to watch blown away in Stolkhome, its an Escourt Cozzie V Supra and they have both had the best tunning and mods and both are running 450 BHP and the supra just leaves the cozzie for dust. -
I wonder if its just worth getting a VW standard cooler, I wont mind changing it for peace opf mind like you said. or would you go for an uprated one?
-
cheers, I will try and pick one up!!
-
Its the best package for you mate, we dont want to start another arguement even if I do agree with you!! 8)

Auto Glym shampoo will do the trick, you dont need to use that much and you will notice that you have a new head lining when you've done the job! DAo your seats whilst they are there providing they are velour / cloth seats. The roof is fairly easy to do in the sense of taking it all off and re fitting it, its just the repair of the nacker roof that can get tricky. Maje sure you have a magnet bowl or something to keep all the screws in and take the sunvisors off and skirts on the sides, the coat hooks etc off and slide the roof lining out though the tailgate and you will see more bolts to un do. You then need to side forward the sunroof lining with is cliped in. Then take off the main bolts that hold the sunroof in and make sure you have help carring the sunroof out. It is reeally that simple. It looks a mess and you think what the hell have I done but once its all back you will feel like you have done a good job!

My drivers tweeter makes the most annoying rattle, vibration, its not due from the sound so something isnt tigh enough or someything like that and I will buy the person a pint who can tell me what my problem could be and help me sort it. When im driving along and its starts to make a noise I push down or grab the edge of the dash as you can slip your fingers behind it ( very tight) and the noise stops, then it just carries on when you take your hand away. I suppose I need to take the speaker out completely and see what it could be first!
