  1. I just want to say that when I drove in to work this morning, I was a little late so I pit my foot down and tjhought the car felt like it was brand new. I have had so much done to it after the accident that its a pleasure to drive. Who else is happy with their C and why?
  2. Yes mate,, they are in Milton Kynes. The web address is http://www.bmc.airfilters.com and you should be able to organise what you are looking for or alternatively call 01202 729 205 they are called Hyperturismo Racing Ltd ask for Joe or Tony and say Ramsay recommended me to you for a BMC filter from joing the Corrado Forum. Also add that there are other people he has spoken too about Hyperturismo so he will denfinitely do you a good deal. You will need to measure the filter so you know that the correct side will be delivered - better to be safe than sorry, shame my misses didnt adopt that tatic!! If you have any probs then e mail me back. Just give em a call and you can pay for it over the fone by card. It would be better for you to speak to Joe but hes always busy so Tony will be fine.
  3. I just have the image in my head of the champaign coloured leather but to try and make it look exclusive and inviting. Maybe even a silver leather like in the E36 Bmers???? I should really take a trip to B Trim in London and get a few charts and swatches. I could take a camera and show you all the different types of leather? I even want to do th ehead rests, you can have the VR6 or whatever you like embossed which would look quite sweet.
  4. Thanks for the pics, I think it looks quite good, do you know if its faster than the original c roof? Is the shutter from the passat as well? I mean th ecover that hides the roof it you didnt understand what I meant?
  5. At the end of the day, both cars are different to drive, they sound different and have different looks depending on age. If you like the feel and drive of the VR then buy a VR if you like the drive and sound of the G60 buy a G60. We dont need to be slagging off eachothers pride and joy otherwise we could all fall out and have 2 forums, a VR6 forum and a G60 forum and we all dont want that. For all those G60 owners that think they have big balls because their car is more tunnable for the money, we could also go out and spend loads of money and for you too see that or maybe not see that as the VR will be so far out of sight..... Do you grasp my meaning. Our points we make here are to get the best possible out of our C's and to make these cars last till they become a real antique. We all want to get our C's to go faster than a fighter jet and handle better than a train so lets get on with helpful stuff like real mods not G60 or VR6. We all know what both cars can do and for those who dont there is no excuse, just reed some of the other threads and you will find out. Also we need to meet up more ofen than once a decade, these meets would be really benificial and more to the point we can all go and have a nice cold pint and wonder round all of the cars. Shall we start trying harder to take a nice sat or sunday where we all clean the motors in the moning and meet for around 1 ish somewhere that more people can get to. I know we all cant go to the meets but surely we can seperate the meets into sections of area. There are loads of people that could get to London with a couple of hours driving and if we make it a big enough event then people will be happy to go up in a convoy as it will take the hours of driving seem like nothing. I mentioned london because its a main location even though I am still a couple of hours way. If anyone else can suggest a meeting point, I will speak to the revelant people and sort something out for us. What do you think everyone? Then we will see that his G60 looks the nuts and his VR6 looks the nuts!!!!!! Sorry, and his 16 Valve looks better than both!! :)

    VR6 v MR2

The only encounter I 've had woth an MR2 is when he crashed into the side of me a while ago and did me £1100 quid in damages!! I am still waiting for the insurance to be sorted out. He is saying my girlfriend was driving and all sorts to make up some bull story to try and get out of it!
  7. I said last time that as you never get to see your car because your driving it that when ever your park up and get out just take a look back at your beast, you can then make sure that lights are off and that everything looks secure and how nice and clean the car looks. Then you wont have a need for a lights on buzzer except in your head!!
  8. at the end of the day we have this forum for aCorrasdo, be it a 1.8 or 2.9. We all have what we can afford and what makes us happy. I know for a fact there are aspects of a G60 driver that likes something on the VR and vice versa! We should compete together for power but not saying that a g60 can piss all over a vr and so on. I think we should gage the preference on how many girls have you bedded in your C and was that a VR or a G60 - JOKE! I bet the VR would win!!!! Ok that was a tester, nobody bite back - both cars are fantastic...FAIR POINT??
  9. At a guess it could have something to do with the 50 profile tyres. Also is the back lower than the front? Do you have ICE - Sub etc? That is all exteded weight....

not sure on the rear, I havent attempted that yet? SAomeone on here will tel you hows its done, im sure.
  12. The canister you are refering to is that the canister that goes into the inner wing on the drivers side? If so, doesnt that have to be straight as it has something to do with fule and to help the car start if your on a hill or something? Iam not really sure so would be interested to know. That would mean I go direct my air feed in a more direct way?
  13. Just try and imagine a dark burgandy car with champagn leather, it would lookj pimp! I take it that you dont like that look or you think C's look better with simple colour leather interiors. I just want it to look sweet and burhandy is a nice colour, on the VR6 Highline MK3 's they do the a burgandy colour that already comes with a deep burgandy leather which I suppose would suit the car?

Try and find a friend that can help you fit it. All you have to do for the front engine mount is Jack the car up one side, I did the passenger side and rest the wheel on a ramp or something. Then jack the gearbox up using something that wont damage the gearbox, I used a weird material insulation stuff that fridge engineers use. Just take the weight off the gearbox very slightly Then undo the 3 nuts that hold the metal cap on, then undo the main nut by looking down at your engine and then you have an large allen key or Torque that need to come off but make sure the gearbox is jacked a bit more. When the mount is offyou will need to jack the gear box up even further so you can get the mount out and slip the new mount in and tighten it slightly and drop the car slowly untill all the wait it taken on the mount and then nip it all up. A garage could do it for you in all of 15 minutes so dont pay much more than £10 / £20 tops.
  15. I have a burgandy c and the next item on my list very shortly is a full leather re trim. I thought about getting champaign / burgandy leather or just all champaign with burgandy piping? I have to be carefull as my dash is black, so I suppose I could do burgandy leather all over with champaign piping, I just want the car to stand out, and for it to look impressive. I dont want swomeone to throw up when they look at it. What would be your opinion or should I just stay with black? Or even better, has anyone done this yet with the same colour car as mine?
  16. Hi all, I am 21 and I own a VR6, ever since I was young I just loved Corrados and used to point them out all the time. My parents had a Jetta 1.8 Big Bumper model and they gave me that when I passed my driving test, then I bought a mint k plate G60 which I kept for a month and sold as insurance was rediculas and fuel cost etc so then I bought a MK2 Golf GTI 8 Valve and went to town on that, coil overs, 17's and mystic blue paint job, full leather and an engine re bore, lightened and balanced, and so on......... I managed to sell that car in the end and bought myself the VR which I want to go to town on like my golf. I am 22 this December so I am looking out for grey hairs!! I would love to fit a turbo in my vr, so dont know wheather or not to buy another small dream of mine an M3 EVO Cabriolet or go crazy with the VR? I know the bmer is common but still a very nice car!

There are 3 mounts in total, the front mount is really easy, it cost around £44 from German and Sweedish, I use the VW mounts as they are strong and can be less noisey than after market mounts. After all the VR6 is a heavy weight and VW wouldnt have spent loads of money on crap mounts. It depends what sort of work you have had done but if they are general mods then I would stick with the standard mounts. I think its only worth changing every mount in the car than apposed to just one iof you are going to use uprated mounts so the tollerance is all the same through out the cars suspension and engine bay IMO 8) .

    you were right Joe M,
  19. kevhaywire, the thing is mate is that the water was leaking when the car wasnt running, as soon as the engine was started it stopped leaking. My heater in the car is superb, so you think its the thermostat housing etc? Can I sort this job out myself with a little help? steveo29, my car is a VR6, could the same problem apply as I will do both, what you say and Kev all at once, or how could I tell if those 2 things need doing? Shall I take the rad off kev as I wanted to change the coolant anyway and flush it out. What is G12? I have heard people say that they use it when putting in new coolant. I take it that its a form of coolant / antifreez?

Looks like the mount has just got loads of water and rust and crap in there, change it and you should be sorted. Your car should feel abit tighter once its done as well,m maybe worth checking the other mounts and doing them at the same time if you can afford it?
  21. where is the best place to buy a mocal oil cooler? How much is it also? I will order one now on the fone if anyone can give me details?

Mate, your car is a late C, and their front engine mounts are not oil filled, its only the early C's that are oil filled. Sounds to me like the head / gearbox or possibly the CV Joints, check the rubber boots and see if they are still sealed as this would throw gung everywhere as they are packed full of grease. Just my initial thought!
  23. dubster82, I think the Vauxhal Cavalier - the SRI has it, if you put the window up and put your hand in the way it will gently hit your hand and it senses that something is in the way and comes back down again! If I have the car wrong my apologies, if someone wants to try it then obviously use a rag or something incase it doesnt work. The syste,m does exsis though and I will find out what they use! Im going home now, so if your reply I will get it in the morning!
  24. I know on some cars they have a sensor that if anything is in the way of the window closing the window falls back down again. Does anyone know anymore about this?
