And in English?... :camp:
-
Dave, just wanted to say thanks for taking us out for a spin yesterday, I think i've just about recovered :pale: i'm not a very good passenger... I've worked out that in 3 years of owning a Corrado yours is the only other one i've ever been in and blimey, what a car you've built! :notworthy: Can't wait to let you and Graham loose on mine now :norty:
-
Had a good one at my local VW dealer at the weekend: Ordering some parts - "what car is it for" "a Corrado VR6" "Oh some people do still drive real cars then"...
-
Fantastic, looking forward to getting them, wonder if they'll suffice as an anniversary present... I'm pushing the practical gifts seeing as her golf needs an exhaust and I need new wiper blades, paint, engine, wheels... :norty:
-
Just ordered a 'golf' and 'GTI' key fob for my girlfriend. She kept asking if you did a golf one to match my Corrado one so this should keep her happy! Not sure how she'll fit them on her keyring, she's got more fobs than keys! :cuckoo:

Too right! My 1 lap in the R8 was enough to convince me I needed to start doing the lottery... or rob a bank! I opted for the former rather than the latter  -

I don't think this one had an orange interior - from what i can make out from my photo's its black with yellow trim. Can't recall seeing an EVO sticker on it either but i'll have a look at my photo's, which i will get round to adding sometime! -
Why can't Ferrari just get on and race rather than throwing their toys out the pram every time something doesn't go their way?! Be interesting to see what the outcome means for both sides though, I doubt Brawn have an alternative design to fall back on?

What a cracking day that was! Like Jim said, I was there with friends - we'd all clubbed together to buy my mate 4 laps in the car of his choice for his 30th birthday - he upgraded this up to 4 laps in the Lambo LP640 - which he took up to about 160 on the main straight! I thought it rude to go all that way, be surrounded by so many beautiful cars and not get into one so ended up having a single lap in the Audi R8, not bad for £25. A fantasticly quick car but i wasn't too sure about the flappy-paddle gearbox, it wasn't as smooth as i'd expected and i did get told off for triggering the kick-down existing one of the corners a little too agressively :norty: I have since tried re-creating the acceleration in the Corrado but it just isn't quite the same, although the grin factor is definately still there! Jim - was good to meet you, maybe see you again at the next one - I want more laps next time! Will add some photo's when i get a chance. -
When i'm taking photos of mine thats the same angle that i always end up at - definately the best one!

Oohhhh i'm jealous... I almost bought the new Tiger last year before deciding on the VFR... The Triumph dealer in Brum is next to Hein Gericke so if i'm passing its a struggle to find a reason not to drop into either of them! Enjoy your test ride and hope the weather is kind!

Which is exactly what happens with mine, and how i re-start it. Actually i can't remember it stalling since i changed the MAF, but will be taking a trip down to Halfrauds for carb cleaner as my idle is quite rough and hopefully a good soaking of the ISV will cure that.
-
I keep meaning to clean out my ISV as i had this problem, still do although quite rare now after changing the MAF. But, where can you get carb cleaner from pure liquid form? I've read posts about soaking the ISV overnight in it, but the only cleaner i can find is in a spray-can?

Text you earlier mate, lift up is no probs, just dashing out now to top up on Meguires to hopefully get mine looking slightly better than it does in time for the weekend. Did the golf this weekend and it looks cracking! (apart from the rust). Looking forward to seeing yours back in one(ish) piece! Laters.

I seem to have the same symptoms with my VR6. Pump is priming, engine turns over but doesn't catch, sometimes hiccups and takes several attempts to fire. Do these sound like similar symptoms? I haven't tried fiddling with anything yet so where should I start?
-
Just booked mine in for its MOT next Saturday (which had run out) the increasing number of bikes around and the milder weather is giving me throttle hand itch! :norty: Had the shed open at the weekend and just kept looking longingly at it, sods law it'll be cold and raining/snow again by saturday!

I'm stuck in Birmingham 5 days a week at least so I guess that counts: '93 L VR6 The blue/grey/purple colour that i can never remember the name of. I'm up for a meet.

Lol, funny that the same thing was said in the pub the other day! (That's my dad by the way and we all think he looks like the guy out of Abba, the one without the beard that is). Was good to meet up the other night Graham, we'll all have to do something again soon, maybe go to a pub where the bar staff know what they're doing! :confused4:

Just though i'd add a pic of our new baby and say thanks to Nemesis360 for parting with it without too many tears  We bought it for my girlfriend who's learning to drive at the mo, and there's no way i'd let the 'rado share the driveway with any old car, let alone drive it too. It's a fantastic little motor and my girlfriend has settled into driving it really easily without too many white knuckle moments from me! Cheers Graham, we love it and even my dad approves! Yep got mine on Saturday too, its taken pride in the middle of all the other mundane ones! Also, i got very excited when i read the last issue of the Sprinter and spotted a pic of my car - on the article about the new club website... Ta Dave for putting that in! Told everyone my car was 'featured' in a magazine... :cuckoo:

1980's Porsche 911 with a whale-tail :luvlove: Should be around the 10k mark these days which leave 5k for a few weeks worth of fuel... Or a Triumph GT6 and some cash spare to but a tasty V8 in it! :norty: I could think of a few more but i've run over my lunch break

'Fog' lights... surely the name gives them away... I hold on my full beam whenever i'm approached by someone with their fog lights on (and its not foggy) it's just another one of my pet hates! :brickwall: and.. why is it always Vauxhalls? Do they have dim dipped beams, or are the drivers just dim... Apologies if you drive a Vauxhall and are aware that your fog lights have an off switch.

Latest update, my mate is round at the flat doing an energy report at the mo and thought he'd have a poke around it. The car is unlocked and some of the wiring has been pulled out so it looks like someone has had a go at taking it for a spin, but no sign of a forced entry! The old tenant's neighbour said he used to see the guy sitting in it having a fag so thought it was his too... I'm going to take a look at it tonight, then leave it until next weekend and if nothing has been heard by then i'll get it trailered over to mine. In the mean time i might get a HPI check done on it just to make sure it isn't stolen then apply for the log book. Then just to make sure i'll get it transferred to private plates so if there is a genuine owner somewhere they won't recognise it! 8)

I'm still undecided about this, the legalities are putting me off slightly, oh and the fact that i haven't seen the car yet still. I managed to get in touch with the ex-tenant who said it wasn't his car and that it had turned up on the drive shortly after he'd moved in, although he'd previously claimed that it was his when my mate told him he had to move it, and somehow shortly after a note appeared inside it saying it was going to be moved. My guess is it is his car but as he's done a runner from the house and is now living in Bristol he's got no interest in the car! I'm going to see what i can find out about it through the DVLA and get a vehicle check done on it at some point to make sure it isn't stolen. My mate has put a notice on it, which has to be on the car for 15 days before the car can then be taken away, although the law appears to be slightly vague on ownership, which is where i wonder whether its worth it as i can't prove ownership of the vehicle, only apply to be the registered keeper on the V5. I just hate to see a good car go to waste... that is as long as it is a good car!

My mate gave the owner an ultimatum yesterday, via his voicemail, either drop the keys and documents round to their office or they'll get the council to remove it and send him the bill. He hasn't got back to them yet... We're not quite sure where the law stands as its parked on private property, yet if i get it trailered over to mine then wouldn't that be theft? Suppose i could charge him removal fees and storage if he tried claiming it back? Anyone know the legalities of this? Quite fancying this as an additional family member... :luvlove:
