My Clarke that I bought about 25 years ago gets abused, and is still going. I've sprayed a few cars with it and used it to pump up the tyres, even caulked the deck of a yacht with it. Only really needed a service and a few flexi leads over time.

Agree start collecting when you see good stuff... I have a loft full of parts that I guess will never be used.

How much... Right I'm selling my collection.

Think I put a set of Bose up front the tweeter was smaller so made some donut shaped bits up in mdf then mounted them below this.

Good thought. It will need a service too, maybe even brake fluid change.

Cheers Dave.. Just booked it in at local dealers. Looking forward to my courtersy UP with dealer graphics down the side next Tuesday. :)

I have a 3 year old polo for the shopping car nipping into town and the tip runs, had it since it was new.... anyway warrantee will run out in next few weeks..... before I make a prat of myself down the dealers... can someone tell me should the fuel filler cap lock with the central locking. or can you just open it at anytime even when the car is locked..... it doesn't have one of those locking caps, so anyone could get into it.

You can get adaptors of Ebay that connect to the original loom and end in spade clips for just a few quid, saves cutting any original wires Do you have an eBay link... Had a look and no joy... Was thinking about making some up.

Old and new zorst, the inner arches are actually clean... I guess not as clean as yours... They are an off blue black colour as they still have the wax on from new... Think I've also put a coat of wax on in the last few years..

I didnt, and I kicked myself... I was too tight to spend the money at the time... I've learnt a valuable lesson.

how many miles has the car done to have the wear on the tensioner ? good progress Darren as ever.... makes me feel ashamed.

cheers guys... will get out and have a weee look.... I guess I should off given him an exact exhaust as a reference... thought I said 55mm with clearance, and its been pumped up to 56mm... I guess its only 0.5mm slack on each site to take up... will investigate the tape option.

I have an original VR exhaust on my car, rear box and mid section were bought new a few years ago.... anyway the silencer that joins to the cat is not available these days.... so a mate of mine has fabricated a new one for me for free, it's a work of art. anyway from my dimensions I gave him it seem that the internal slot that slides over the cat has been pumped up 1mm too much. I've not tried it on the car just had a quick measure. he has put four slots at 90degrees so it can be clamped up and squashed a bit.... is 1mm too much to squash down, I guess I would put in loads of exhaust paste..... i'd rather not ask him to mod the exhaust at this stage if I can get away with it... he's obviously put a lot of time into it

No not an r but it was on the tick list... Golf gti in night blue dsg with sunroof and performance kit. You get a few more bhp over standard and bigger brakes and a few other extras... I liked the gti styling better than the r... Lots of mk1 styling bits... Red line round the front bumper cheque seats wheels... Did you go for the Teflon coating on the paintwork... Sales bloke says I'd never have to clean it.... Not sure on that

I'm sure tomi is a good sound fella. I never said he wasn't. I just said I had issues these days buying outside the Uk. After past problems with couriers. For the record I have no issue with tomi or his capability to post anything.

Sorry to here about your car rob... I know the feeling very well, and the urge to get shot of the old one... Good things come from bad... We had a yacht that was trashed and lived on for a week... The Mrs never went on it again... Wouldn't even use the bathroom someone's else had used.. We eventually sold after years of hassle with the insurance and bought bigger and better.... Good luck with new car search... Good work on the VR too.

I've just had a 10 quid test with the photographic retina thingie that see in the back of your eyes from boots the chemist. By law they have to give you your prescription. Voucher on boots website at moment. But sometimes it's unwise to go elsewhere for your frames... As you have no come back if they messed the sight test up and the glasses are wrong.
