my turbos gone again my first ko4 did 300 miles after recon at £370 my second at a further £200 has just gone at 360 miles they said it sufferd a lack of oil. but i have checked and checked and double ched everthing to do with the oil the pressure is high i have a gauge on it has loads cracks out if i take the return off or crasck the pipe at the turbo and filter. both times has new 0w 30 oil and genuine vag filters. so why is it dead the bearings are shot again. first question could it be a heat problem? shud i have an after run pump on? its running qpenq ecu,iv not run over 0.5 bar on my gauge with the second unit, the first had seen 1.5bar but i have seen a max of 1.8 bar for a second or 2 its only a cheap tim gauge. im not seeing its an oil issue at all so could it be egt even tho its only seeing 0.5bar please any help or info please post it this is costing me a fortune :help: :help: the cars fine apart from my turbo issue. also if you have done the bam conversion and didnt use the after run pump where shud the return from the turbo water go. i cant risk putting a brand new unit on and it goin again in 300 miles :help:

qpeng fuel pump to the blue/yellow wire qpeng tacho to the green/blue wire black that went to the rado ecu is 12v swithched so that goes to the qpeng 12v ground out the earth eyes and the qpeng ecu coolant could be red/yellow thats it shud be running. if you can hear ya pump prime on ignition on for a few secs you shud be good to go :D
-
cost me around 3.5probo nearer 4 cos im having turbo problems, that was on mbe qpeng all samcos no expense speared quite easy to do aswell. well worth it the engine the corrado shud have had :D dont mob me vr6 owners lol :)

turbos now off oil and oil lines and pressures are fine but the turbo on the intake side on just 3 blades big burs have formed on the blades, but why only three im sure the turbo rebuilders will try say its me but surly its a fault with them why only 3 blades bured up? out of balance or a bent shaft? yea theres a 12month warranty so il have to see what they say shud be back with them monday. ben at qpeng says hes had no turbo problems during development at 1.6bar.

iv had my newly recond k04 turbo fail after just 300 miles i have good oil pressure and feed lines new oil and filter all bled up fitted the unit with utter care. now it wont spool up just screams, blades have burs from rubbing the housing. so looks a bit dead. so my question is has anyone else running a k04 on qpeng had any problems? is the 1.6 bar way too mutch for the k04 as i only ran it full power for like a few mins it failed while running a 0.6 bar. or is it likely the recon was crap and the bearings have gone already even tho the oil is fine. i mite be best to get a second hand unit. funds are now running low it cost £360 for the recon and it only went for leaking seals so proves there was good oil pressure now this recon is compleatly knackerd leaving me wondering why. always sumat goes wrong :( but for them 300 miles the car was seriously rapid :)

finaly got my conversion finished, so far done about 100 miles in it all i can say is it was worth the wait :D :D :D on the qpeng high boost setting it realy shifts :) the only thing that isnt working is the oil temp im unsure where to put a sensor anyone got theres working with qpeng on the mfa what did you do with the sensor? just need to try get it on the rollers to make sure its running right im worried about running it incase its lean etc i dont want to melt it. im sure qpeng maps are resonably close
-
i need to find the oil temp sensor location on my 2.0l 16v but i cant seem to find it cheers :)
-
no they dont do drive by wire altho i still dont like the idea myself i have a vison of it goin wide open by itself :) the other benifit is im running 2 stage so i shud get 180 and 270 horse good for normal driving now fuel prices are stupid. :(
-
anyone running qpeng had any problems with the map when on the rollers etc? and did ya check it with a wideband afr gauge when you got it running?. must agree that if i went down the audi ecu route plus a remap and the wiring it would have cost more than qpeng aslong as there map is right otherwise if you have to buy or hire the can box to map it ya self or take it to the rollers for mapping isnt gonna be so cheap. soon find out how well it runs next week.

is that a pump hanging on that pipe down below ya alternator? wouldnt put a pic of that pump on would ya. are you using qpenq?
-
if you havnt got an intercooler or rad,im gonna try an audi 80 rad il let u know how that goes tmrw when it comes my intercoolers in and iv sorted the pipes il do ya a diagram of how im doing the coolant, there was a pump apparently to prevent heatsoak i dont have so il look at that after i try running it, thats what the turbo return went to i think. il post you some pics so far shud be running next week i hope. the power steering pump is my 16v the banjo is a tight one and i think your master cylinder shud be ok like that im leaving mine like that. il have a look at the banjo mite ata take a bit out of the crossmember.. what corrado are you putting that in? im using the 16v box and clutch for the mo. i still need to sort the vac hoses there just loose is it the coolant you want to know how to pipe? i can also say the wiring in that diagram of the pins for the ecu plug isnt for my 1995 9a the wires are different iv still to find the tacho wire if your using qpeng no one seems to have a 9a wiring diagram shud be easy to sort tho.

just a few questions to finish my pipes off the problem is im not over sure what to put where as i never saw the engine in the tt, so the pipes im not sure of are 1)first one comes from the turbo and then goes to the front of the engine its bound to another pipe that comes out of the coolant tank around the side of the cam belt cover did this go to the tts rad? 2)on the other side of the engine you have a junction in the hose a black fitting theres a little out let on it what would go on there shud i pipe the coolant tank to thi 3)and on the dv where does the small vacume hose go that goes out of the top of the valve. 4)theres a grey one way valve on the turbo inlet hose where did that go shud i just blank that off thanks alot all the photos of tt engines have there covers on any help would be great :)

top man thanks alot! :D

im gonna go with spal fan or fans i wont fit any fans or housings in over 50-60mm,the 16v rad means the hose will be hard against the engine there both on the left looking from the front, i looked at some in gsf but they didnt have a g60 or vr one it says on qpeng they used a 1300 rad but i would have said that would be small i think il need a g60 or vr rad, the fuel hoses where they meet the plastic kjet pipes are crimped onto the fittings on so id have to have new hoses with them fittings on to meet the plastics think the g60 must be different i can just join the 16v and tt ones with a straight conection il try that,i could get through all this no bother but any info or problems i put on here may help others cheers tim :) all been easy so far,its been worse changing the rotty brake lines behind the engine when it was out.
-
cheers rob il get another servo hose and try that the mk2 cables gonna be fine,my fuel hoses have a crimped on end so im gonna try a few hydraulic places to see if they can make them. if you look at the car from the front are the g60 rad inlet and outlet on the left? or right. cheers stuck now waiting for an intercooler :( its using the full qpeng i sent him the tt loom and he modded it and added 2 stage boost switch&down pipe not cheap but it all just fits and i wanted to keep the clocks and dash as it is and even if i had had my ecu sorted id have still wanted a remap after so i just decided to do it all at once and use qpeng.
-
what radiator are you guys using my 16v one is gonna be a real tight fit to get the top pipe on also anyone whos done a tt engine whats this bit here? im using qpeng so theres alot of bits i arnt using its in now and nearly ready to try firing it up :) what did you do with the brake servo pipe, and how did you connect the fuel lines to the corrado ones. i could sort these but wondered if there was an easy way.
-
wonder if anyone can help me i either need a wiring diagram or i need to find the wires for the tacho and the two wires for the coolent temp sensor that went into the ecu plug iv got say 12 wires and i need these 3 as these to go to my loom for my 20vt :)
-
can anyone say what throttle cable there using,im doing an apx using qpeng so iv changed to a cable throttle just wondering what cable to use myn looks too short. im goin with the standard pump have you kept the accumulator or ditched that and just gone pump and filter.cheers. iv just got a ko4 down pipe from qpeng and i must say its a nice bit of pipe if your still looking for one.
-
yea just the job, wheres that number from? you have two different outlets on that? i dont wanna cut my origional bumper,if you could tell me the sizes of that and where you got it would be a great help :D
-
was just wondering if anyone was using a front mount in front of the rad and the rough size just to make it a bit easyer iv seen alot on ebay and was just looking for rough dimensions..been a bit lazy realy as i can easy measure it when the lumps in,but i wondered what sort of size you need for around 270bhp using a ko4, a tiny one isnt gona be mutch use, like say 600mmx200x65 be up to it? im just waiting for my loom back from qpeng and then il see how it goes :D
-
antone have any idea on the rough dimensions of the g60 fmic or know what size will fit in without moding the front im about to sit my tt engine in cheers :D any ideas on what sort of size i mite need for running around 270 bhp
-
found my self a 225 apx lump from a tt after holding out for a 225 version and its got here so a bit more fun can start, decided to go with the qpeng ecu and loom so should be around 270 bhp and i wanna keep the rado clocks and dash etc, could be waiting a few weeks for that so in the mean time il get the old rado engine out. wish me luck theres pipes everywhere :) and even more luck for driving round in my new 1.4 seat ibiza i had to get to get me to work and about while the rados in bits, gets fun when ya forget you only have bycycle tyres on in the wet :D
-
would the vr box fit a 20vt and give me better ratios than my 2.016v box, will my 16v cvs bolt straight to the vr box and would my 16v clutch fit or are the splines a different size, the ratios on the 16v box may be a bit short for a tt lump with 270 horses? tryed searching but theres just so mutch stuff to try get thru thanks
-
im goin to strip the engine out of a tt for my rado im taking whatever i need so seems a bit pointless using like qpeng for another 1k if i can use all the tt gear. so anyone using the fly by wire,im gunna take the clocks ignition barell, pedal, key is there anything else i need? do ya think im best like taking the full dash loom and fuse box? just looking for info from peeps using the standard vag ecus? thanks
