  1. i got them on ebay for around that price
  2. thanks mate i realy fancy restoring a 100% stock storm next to go with this one i just need somewhere to put it,il do yours after that :) but at the rate i get them done it will probably be another 10 year. the throttle body came from qpeng who did the ecu so i cant tell you what its from but im sure they would tell you. cheers
  3. i also fit a new set and did the same as you,i didnt use the tape, myn were very tight anyway but that mite be due to extra paint of a respray but i cant see them moving
  4. il find it for you,i still stitched all the way round with the machine and just joined them all by hand ,i bet it would take a while if your going to do it all by hand. collected a few more bits yesterday to get the engine bay cleaned up. link for steering wheel
  5. i took my strips off for respray they are just stuck down with double sided tape, slid a flat chisle under and gentley prised them off,no breakages and bought some more tape on ebay they are back on perfect. they are quite bendy once you get them off so they wont just snap in half etc. if that helps
  6. thanks mate! just bought a machine and stitched shed loads of card board i realy struggled with the speed it stitches at,it was a few years ago now when i got it so any work i do now is far better so i went back round alot of it again,i guess its just practice but to be honest i dont realy enjoy it. watched how to do the wheel on you tube
  7. thanks for the tunnel mate, can get that trimmed up now cheers ---------- Post added at 08:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:50 PM ---------- embossed the vw logo on to the leather by soaking it then g clamping a flip flop to it for 24 hours. been fitting all the dash and wiring/connecting everything in the doors etc pattern to trim tunnel parts. not long till mot time waiting for new tanks/bottles battery cover from vw to finsh the engine bay off.
  8. i need one clip that holds the gear lever surround to the tunnel plastic theres two the suround pushes down on to. i also need a pair of door pin surounds, the bit that goes in the door card then the pins for the lock go through. cheers
  9. now sorted cheers tom
  10. i cut all my windows out with some windscreen removing wire, you make a hole thread it through then fix it to two handles and saw it out,it does the parts you cant get to with a blade,i got it on ebay i also found loads of washing up liquid helps the cutting. i still broke one of 1/4 windows trying.
  11. stunning car mate! just been reading all of your thread i got to page 37 before i have to go out,the august calendar pic on that page is amazing top effort.
  12. made a start on sorting the steering wheel it had a big split in so i took the cover off and made a pattern to use on the brown hide left over from the roof. stitched all the way round with the machine then a few hours of hand stitching later had this nearly done.
  13. i can tell you its very hard to fit a genuine vw windscreen as i just have, and the trims for the side top and surround are close to £130 alone if you have to provide those, the side trims just go on the windcreen no problem its those that are dear at £50 each its getting the outer one in i struggled with after the screen is in,but it does fit 100% perfect now, you can buy 6 spacers as a part from vw to put the screen in the right place, cant tell you if one looks better than the other as i havn,t seen the encapsulated one. cheers
  14. thanks mate but no thats not it. this is him (16) 867 881 634 button right 09/88-07/95LX5 satin black 1
  15. thanks mate if i get stuck mite have to. yea drivers side if you can find one that would be great cheers

  17. i need a front right hand seat folding lever, the one you pull up to fold the front seat forward. cheers
  18. nice one thanks mate ,i will stick the wheel on and check it out,it has a spline type thing inside so it can go in loads of positions thats why i ended up spending half hour looking at a part that takes 2 seconds to fit.
  19. thanks mate!! i positioned that like 4 times and still couldnt decide how it goes, thats how i had it at first but does it need rotating down? i cant remember i took it off so long ago. cheers
  20. do ya still have this mate? i take it its the version with the slots in the back for the hump seat to screw through? Full centre tunnel perfect for trimming as has a small screw hole (see picture) £20.00 cheers
  21. coilovers arrived, tyres hard against the body so new wheels are on the way,but have a 4 week wait. carpets finished coverd the shelf supports hoping to be finished by the end of next month when the wheels turn up.
  22. cheers guys its in the car now and the pics arn't great,it has no stitching its just in one piece glued on,kinda wish i had done it in a few sections and got some stitch detail on it but i can always go back and do bits once the whole car is together, the material i did the roof in before was very thin and the spray glue soaked through so i had to put a small amount of glue on and it started coming off so with the leather you can put loads of glue on and it wont soak through thats why i did it again,i did the backs of the seats in sewn sections. few pics of the interior going back in.
  23. i need a 100%dent free rust free sunroof panel no mechanisms just the steel panel cheers
  24. can anyone tell me if the bracket for the back seat hump is welded or bolted into the car the bit with the four screw holes in thats sat under the center tunnel plastics,i have a vr6 rear seat that i need to put one in my car but its used to be a 16v model so it didnt have one. cheers
